Did 20 mins of my Blast Off DVD and found it hard going. :o Must be all the alcohol I had over the weekend.

Back to work again for 7 late shifts, although might have Sunday off if I'm lucky.

On a more positive note the wool I ordered arrived today so I will be able to finish my cushion cover (eventually). :j Was impressed at how quick they were, so have ordered the same wool in a different shade. Well it's a nice wool and only £1.99 for a ball (I ordered 4 :o)so might as well. :D Should keep me going for a while anyway.

Went round to my mum's for a bit last night just to catch up and play with the kittens. They're a bit bigger but still tiny and really into attacking feet at the moment. :rotfl: They are about the size of my feet (size 5) and were just launching themselves around my feet and clinging on while biting my big toes. :rotfl: Still wanted to smuggle one home though. :D

My cats are so naughty though - this morning my boy cat stole half a pitta bread off the worktop when I wasn't looking. He doesn't even care when I shout and just strolls off with a look of disgust on his face.

Woke up tired, achey and feeling like I've got the cold. Had a nice hot bath and skipped the exercise today as think that's why I'm aching. :(

Back to work for day 2 in a couple of hours - could do without it though.

Not much to update really - got our Tesco clubcard points through yesterday so have enough to get a voucher. Will need to decide what we're doing with them though.

Also need to try and find a hotel for an overnight stay in London in April - they all look quite expensive and OH is fussy. Think we can spend a bit more than normally would as it's only one night but don't want to spend too much either.

OH informed me last night that our (very) naughty boy cat had also helped himself to a bit of OH's omelette when he left the room for a minute. We can't leave any food unattended for even a minute!

OH called the garage yesterday about the car and looks like this blown seal will be a !!!!!! to fix. Which means a high labour cost. Plus the servicing will be £140 and don't think we even have a price for the boot.

Then the guy said that we will need the gearbox replaced soonish as it has a slow leak (something we knew about from last service) but when it goes it will cost more than the car's worth to replace it. As the car is over 10 years old the tax is over £200 as well for the year.

Now wondering whether we would be better off getting a new (second-hand) car. That means paying another hire purchase for 5 years though and not keen as we just paid off the car we have.:( Or we could not have a car altogether which is the cheaper but more inconvenient thing to do.

    What a pain!

Hi sazzle, this is my sixth day in a row working so I'm knackered! OH went to look at cars at the weekend as in the long run it will be cheaper to get another car altogether. *sigh* So that's another 5 years we're tied in to paying off a car.

In better money news we finally sold an air bed (with its own automatic pump etc) that I bought cheaply in the job before my last job and never used. We decided to sell it ages ago because it was in a huge box and taking up lots of room. I paid roughly £14 for it and we sold it for £120. :j It was originally over £200 though so a good deal really. :D So the money is being split between our cc's - my Barclaycard is so close to being cleared (again). :j

Need to get moving and do some Pilates today, then have lots of ironing to do and need to pay that money into the bank before work. Feeling sooo tired.

Managed to get some Pilates done before work yesterday plus the ironing and even managed to get to the bank to put in the cash we got for our ebay sale.

So today I've paid £60 off my Barclaycard - so close to being gone. :j Transferred the other £60 to OH's account as he has some Quidco money in there and wants to pay that to his cc as well.

Just one more shift then have two days off - can't wait.

Saw a nice cardigan yesterday in town after banking the money and before going to work. Decided if I still want it by Friday I will buy it as it's payday.

Might go to the library to return some books today before work but will see how I feel.

  • Well done on selling the airbed, and using the money sensibly, not frittering it away.

Enjoy your time off, you sound like you need a rest.

    Hi gilli and sazzle. :hello:

Well we decided to be good with the airbed money since we're replacing the car and that is going to cost us extra every month again. Only makes sense to get rid of the smaller debts as quickly as we can.

:rotfl: yes Sazzle, sometimes I feel like the shifts do last forever! Got two days off then another 7 on then my 5 days off - will be tired.com by next Thursday.

I was proud of myself for putting the cardigan back and thinking about it. Realistically I probably don't need another cardigan but it is rather nice and I'm still wanting it after three days. It was only £14.50 so I think I'll get it. :D

Might see my mum today but don't really have any other plans except relaxing and enjoying not being at work. :j

Big nightmare yesterday as the finance company declined OH's application for finance for the new (to us) car. If OH has been knocked back for hire purchase, I doubt I would pass a credit check either. :( Was quite down for a while as it brought home what a mess our credit record still is even though we are getting on top of things now.

Very luckily for us OH's parents are in a position to help and offered to loan us the money we needed for the car. We'll pay it back over 4 years plus interest, so it works out better for us as it also doesn't impact our credit record. So OH is getting it sorted today and hoping to pick up the car tonight.

OH took me out for dinner last night as I was working on Valentine's day. We went to Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant in Glasgow which was lovely and not all that expensive either. :) Had a nice time and cheered me up a bit after the earlier car worries.

So far this morning I've done 20 mins of my Blast Off DVD and it was a killer. Need to do some top-up shopping as well. My mum hasn't been well so took some of my knitting home yesterday to finish my cushion cover for me as she wanted something to do. :o She needs more wool so will have to take that round as well.
