Sashybo - Stray thoughts amongst the wilderness of debt

Totally knackered today as work was very busy last night and didn't seem to stop. Am being kind to myself and having a break from exercise - will do it tomorrow instead.
It'a very frosty outside today and a bit foggy as well, brrr. Wish I didn't have 6 more shifts to go, could do without work!
Apparently my weights are going to be delivered today - but I will be leaving for work around 2pm. The company didn't actually ask if I was going to be in today. Delivery could be any time up until 5:30pm - I will be at work and OH won't be home until after that time either.
Going to go and watch Grey's Anatomy that I recorded last night while at work. Just want to sleep today.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Well after all that moaning my new hand weights arrived before I left for work. :j
Did two 10 min work outs from my Blast Off DVD this morning but was knackered from work last night so probably didn't put as much effort in as I should have.
Realised yesterday that I get paid today and not next week like I thought. :j Keep forgetting I'm on four-weekly pay and not monthly anymore. OH gets paid next Thursday so will wait to pay bills/split money into different accounts until then.
Only 5 more shifts to go until two days off, already exhausted!Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Haha, I know exactly what you mean about My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding! I sat with my mouth open wide the whole time!!
Finally got around to ordering that Shred DVD, am going to give it a go at some point next week me thinks. A little bit daunted by the prospect if I'm honest:eek:
Well done on keeping going with the knitting - it will get quicker the more you do, honest!!NSD -5/20

Hi sazzle, yes we were all talking about the Big Fat Gypsy Wedding programme at work as well. Think everyone was a bit  :rotfl:
Good Luck with Shred - it's hard work but it is worth it. I'm only doing it every two days now and alternating with my other DVD and think it's working better for me that way.
I'm trying to do a bit of knitting every day and take it with me when I'm watching tv etc. Think I'll need to go back to Hobbycraft for more wool soon as well - hope they still have the colour I'm using.
Just got home from work an hour ago - now only 3 shifts to go on lates. :j Quite tired, so will head to bed soon. Was lazy and didn't do any exercise today - think I will stick to having weekends off as long as I do Mon-Fri.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Morning
hope work isn't too tiring, have been reading about your Shred stuff on PAd thread.
I only saw bits of the Gypsy Wedding thing, but I used to work with travellers when I was a housing aid worker, and found it odd that they were really strict with the girls, but allowed them to wear outfits that most people considered 'tarty', and their dressing up clothes were really OTT by British standards. Its a bit like the beauty pageant thing in the states.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi gilli - yes thought it was quite odd that they're so old-fashioned in how they treat their girls but let them wear those clothes.
Have added OH's Capital One card to my signature as that will be the next target when my Barclaycard is paid off. When OH is paid next week will hopefully make a payment to take my Barclaycard under £100, so not long before it's gone. :j
In theory we should have an extra £165 every month as our car has been paid off now. Think we will split this between savings for car (MOT, servicing and tax), factor fee savings and try and use some towards debt as well. One of the smaller amounts on our DMP should be paid off at the end of the month as well, so an extra £10 will be split amongst the remaining debtors on there.
Really should move soon and get ready for work - only 3 more shifts to go.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Well managed to get my huge ironing pile done before work yesterday so only have a few things to iron from my white washing today.
Have done Shred level 2 again this morning and still finding it hard going. Pleased that I made myself do it though as pretty tired from work - only 2 more shifts and then I have two days off.
Will need to get some presents for OH on my days off as it's his birthday soon. Already have one present but no idea what else to get - used up all my ideas at Christmas!
Going to have a bath and then need to clean the bathroom.
Made a coconut loaf for work the other day and was very careful not to let the cats get to it while it was cooling. Took it out for 5 minutes while I was doing something else - and you guessed it - my boy cat tore a lump out of it.  Was so annoyed! Had to cut that bit off, didn't really fancy taking the whole thing in with a lump missing and cat saliva on it. This is the cat who stole a muffin last time they were cooling - he's very naughty. :cool:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Work was crazy on Monday night so was very tired on Tuesday and didn't do any exercise. *slaps wrist* Luckily quiet last night at work so not too bad, was also told by my manager that I'd passed my six month probation period and they were very happy with me. :j Had to train someone on the job I was just trained in the other month so that was interesting!
On my first day off today, so knackered but got up and did 30 mins of my Blast Off Belly Fat DVD. Not feeling the pain yet but am sure I will later.
Think my mum is coming round for some knitting and a gab, wanted to go shopping for OH's birthday but so tired I don't think I can move. My mum is getting two kittens at the end of the week, can't wait to play with them.
Not much else to report really - will be making a bigger payment to my Barclaycard tomorrow as OH gets paid and we can see what our money will be for the month. Should be able to take it under £100. :TSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Thanks sazzle.
Well my stomach muscles are feeling the pain from yesterday's work out. Have ordered the Pilates DVD by the same instructor as I quite like her even though she's super smiley when telling you to do very painful things. :rotfl:
Had a very lazy morning and stayed in bed reading as it's the last long lie I'll get for another 7 days. Decided not to attempt Shred.
Have booked a surprise for OH's birthday and know he will really like it so quite pleased. :j It was a bit expensive but no more than a meal out really, so worth it as it will be an enjoyable experience. :j Also ordered some things online, just need to get a card and make some cupcakes for him on the day.
Paid £30 off my Barclaycard as OH was paid today and it's now under £100 - so close to being paid off. :T
Need to do some ironing in a bit but overall having a lazy day today and enjoying it. Did finally shred my paperwork pile earlier though. :TSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780.
