Only two more shifts then I have two days off - really need some time away from work, working seven shifts in a row is hard.

Did 30 mins of yogalates this morning - had a bit of a fight with myself to do any exercise at all but as hadn't done any since Thursday I made myself do it. :o

I bought my first Christmas present the other day but haven't done anymore shopping so will have a look when off work. Would rather try and get it done now, especially since OH will be taking a wage cut when he starts his new job.

Need to leave a bit earlier today to go and buy a couple of things before work as need to buy and send a birthday card for Thursday. OH needs a couple of things too.

Since I think we've been spending too much on food I've been clearing out the freezer for my dinners at work. Think we will need to do a big shop in the next day or so though as running quite low on most things now.

Paid another £10 off the Barclaycard, just hoping we get the £100 cashback soon as then the balance will only be £90 rather than £190.

Having a relaxing day today since I'm exhausted and the weather is awful.

Used my £5 off No7 voucher for Boots to buy their hot cloth cleanser the other day so it only cost £4 - it seems quite nice so far. :T As I'd also bought a few other things I got another £5 off voucher back. :D Thinking of using it for a nail polish or something small so it won't be much of an extra spend but will be something that I'll use.

Did level 2 shred yesterday morning, showered, put on a washing and had my food delivery. My mum came up for lunch and we picked my nephews up from school. Weather was awful but I made my mum walk rather than take the car - was exhausted by the time we got back. :o My new coat kept me completely dry though so I was quite pleased with that.

Big nephew came home with me for dinner via the barbers as he really needed a haircut. He also picked his own clothes so of course he just picked them up off the floor and his trousers had mud on them and t-shirt was a bit small - which I didn't realise until we were halfway to town.:rotfl: So we also had to go via a shop for some clothes. Males start young with hopeless dressing apparently. :rotfl:

Anyway had a nice evening with him and OH, we played Simpson's Cluedo which I won. :D I love Cluedo. :D Will probably take little nephew for his dinner next week. :)

Have a parcel to pick up from the Post Office later and need to go to Makro for toilet roll, tonic water and washing powder. Apart from that and some ironing I'm planning on relaxing, catching up on some recorded tv and maybe doing some online Christmas shopping.

Have been seriously rubbish at updating here for the last couple of weeks.

In short, took little nephew after school last week for his tea - little nephew was chuffed (more about seeing my cats than me though :rotfl:) and big nephew not so chuffed that he couldn't come as well.

My exercise has been very hit and miss (mostly miss :o) but I'm starting again from today. Have somehow managed to lose about 3lbs since I last weighed myself - am mystified as have been quite bad with food and exercise. Did 30 mins of my dance dvd today for a bit of cardio, planning on 30 mins of yogalates tomorrow. Still need to lose at least another 7 lbs to get to a healthy weight, once I'm there I'll be able to tell if I need to lose a bit more.

OH left his old job on Friday and had a leaving do at the pub. I was invited although I only knew 1 person () but was brave and went. Did feel a bit awkward for a while but had a good time in the end. So many people he worked with told me how well liked he was and how much they would miss him which was very nice. :) He also got 5 bottles of whiskey and a large amount of Amazon vouchers as leaving presents. He was very pleased with this and promptly ordered himself some new games over the weekend. We were both very ill on Saturday after the amount of alcohol we consumed, could only be cured with a very lazy day and a roll and sausage. :D

Have added a few more presents to my Christmas stash, aiming to get all the shopping done by the end of November as really hate it plus we are going to be a bit poorer for a while as OH now on a trainee salary for at least 6 months. Have about £40 in Amazon vouchers from surveys which can be used towards presents and have ordered £10 Boots and £10 Debenhams vouchers as well. A few people will be getting sock monkeys as well.

Went out for lunch with friends yesterday which was nice and finally gave my friend's wee boy the sock monkey I made for him months ago. He was very pleased with it and called it Fred. :D

Bad news is my washing machine seems to be playing up. Took bedding out of it yesterday after a wash and all I could smell was burning rubber. Too scared to use it now and my washing basket is overflowing. Think we will need to call someone out to have a look at it and hope it can be repaired without costing too much. :(

Am on annual leave from work this week so hoping to get some sock monkeys started for Christmas/November birthdays etc.

30 mins of yogalates done this morning - was feeling it by the end. :o Will try more cardio tomorrow or if I'm feeling brave some Shred.

Started a sock monkey for OH's gran's birthday next month, will try and get some more of it done today. Have a few others I want to make for Christmas.

A man is coming out to look at the dodgy washing machine at some point this afternoon, so am stuck in until he appears. Hoping it's something he can fix today as don't want to have to wait in tomorrow as well, plus have a huge pile of washing that needs done. Only £20 call out fee so hoping it's not too bad.

Waiting on some parcels to appear today as well but they usually wait until I'm out before delivering things.

Did 20 mins of cardio this morning and was dying. :o But at least I made myself move.

My washing machine was pronounced dead yesterday. Of course we're not organised enough (yet) to have a Dead Household Appliances fund so on the credit card a new one had to go. It will grace us with its presence at the weekend.

Got as good a deal as we could as needed an integrated washer dryer which meant it was going to be more expensive. Got one for approx £360 as quidco had a 10% off voucher plus £10 cashback. :j We have approx £160 in various pots that can go towards paying this off straight away so only have to find another £200 asap. Still have £130 on my cc from the server OH got but we are waiting for £100 cashback for that so only really £30 of that to be paid off. We'll get there - eventually.

Had to take three big bags of washing round to my mum's in the afternoon yesterday. Luckily her washing machine has quite short cycles. Flat was like a laundry when I came home though - washing hanging everywhere to dry.

Have been buying bits and bobs online towards Christmas in the last few days. Will need to make a list of what I want to get and try as spend as little as possible and use vouchers when I can.

Didn't get any work done on the sock monkey yesterday so will try and do that today as well as some ironing.

One parcel has appeared today but still waiting on the other one, probably won't appear until evening, if at all.

:rotfl::rotfl:(yet) and you do have the flexibility still to put it on the cc.

Hi gilli, yes at least we had cleared most of the previous cc debt so had the option to use it in our washing machine emergency.

OH started his new job on Monday so mostly classroom learning for him for the next few months. Overall our income will drop by about £200 a month while he's on trainee wage so not as bad as could be. Still not great with the washing machine dying and Christmas coming up but not as bad as I'd thought.

Got up early this morning and went in to town as had a few things to do. Returned library books and exchanged a couple of tops that I'd bought online as part of my brother's Christmas present but were the wrong size. They didn't have the same ones so got a shirt instead. Got a couple of small things in the clearance M&S plus my first two rolls of Christmas wrapping paper.

Haven't done any exercise but will count walking to, around and back from town as my exercise for today - was out for about an hour and a half.

The parcels I was waiting on arrived yesterday, have now ordered more stuff towards Christmas so that should arrive next week. Feeling fairly organised so far and going into Glasgow with my mum next week for a bit more Christmas browsing/shopping (if I have any money left ).

The new washing machine arrived at 7am on Sunday morning. _pale_ Luckily I'd woken up not feeling great about 06:50 and looked at my phone for some reason, which had a missed call from a strange number - then remembered our delivery slot was between 7am & 11am. So we had to rush about getting dressed and the delivery men arrived at 7am on the dot. Wonder how many people they get out of their beds when they do that. :rotfl:

Have paid £90 off the cc - £10 yesterday and £80 today so it's now sitting at £400 altogether. Hopefully the £100 cashback cheque we are waiting on will arrive soon so can pay that straight off.

Did 30 mins of yoga this morning and quite enjoyed it but some of the balancing was a bit difficult. :o

Back to work today for two late shifts as didn't get the lieu days I put in for. This is a total pain as it means I have to work two days then off two then back for seven. Lieu days are almost impossible to get at our place just now - I put in for them at the end of July.:mad: Oh well.

Got the sock monkey's tail made up and sewn on to the body, have cut and pinned the rest of the monkey ready to sew, stuff and sew onto the body. So at least some progress there. :)

Another 30 mins of yoga this morning, woke up feeling very achey, not sure if it was the yoga yesterday or if I'm getting a cold, have a very sore throat as well.

Work was fine but wish I'd gotten my lieu days. :( Oh well, only one shift tonight and then I have two days off.

Poor OH is struggling to fit in with the other guys on his training course in his new job. They're into football which he has totally no interest in and is feeling a bit isolated. On the other hand he's enjoying learning things. Hope he settles in soon, am sure he will as he generally finds it easy to get on with people.

No money news at the moment, just ticking along until payday on Friday.

Did 10 mins of cardio this morning and then 20 mins of yoga. Feeling quite achey again this morning, think it might be all the stretching in the yoga work-outs. Still have a sore throat though. :(

Going into town tomorrow with my mum, want to have a good look about for Christmas presents, even if it's just ideas. Have ordered some handmade bath fizz cubes online and have bought some little organza bags to put them in for small presents.

Have no money but have seen a pair of boots I really, really want. It's killing me to be sensible and not buy them - especially when that bad little voice is telling me to just put them on the cc. But they're £139 - too expensive just now. :( Maybe they will go on sale - I can hope. :D
