Sashybo - Stray thoughts amongst the wilderness of debt

Have been very lazy today - just went to work, came home and slept. Will definitely exercise tomorrow but am just going to relax tonight, have another five shifts to get through at work before another day off.
No real money news although OH has been given a conditional offer for the job he had several interviews for and really wants.
He is very pleased and I'm proud of him for doing so well. After the first couple of years it also means a nice pay rise for him as well. :T

Hi sashy
just catching up - well done to your OH on the conditional offer. Is this the one he's had all the assessments for?
My DS has asked for the Star Wars set for Christmas - I must admit to only seeing one of them.
Purl, yes it is knitting backwards, but once you 'get it' you *really* get it and then you will be able to do all sorts of patterns.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi gilli, yes it's the same job he's done all the assessments for - it's a very long process!
Star Wars, we only got the first three original ones as not keen on the more recent ones. I enjoy sci-fi stuff so do like a bit of Star Wars.
The purl stitch was confusing me for a looong time, pleased that I think I've got it finally.

Was good today and came home from work and did exercise. :j Did level 2 Shred and then 15 mins of the Yogalates instant abs section. I did feel better doing exercise rather than slumping on the couch which is what I wanted to do when I got in.
Think I'll be feeling it later though.
OH is out with a friend tonight so have the house to myself. No real plans as quite tired. Should really do some ironing but will see how I feel.
No real money news, waiting to be paid next week so I can pay off OH's credit card which will be nice. :j:j I did let him buy a mini server to tinker with as it had a cashback offer where you claim £100 back after buying it. Sent the claim form off today but will still need to pay £120.
This will need to be paid back throughout the next month as it's on my Barclaycard. Once it's paid off will need to decide whether to save towards something or overpay the NR loan.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Last early shift today, only have three lates to go then off for a couple of days. Second half of my shift was a bit hectic but was okay.
Had an appointment with the nurse for my pill, she took my blood pressure but wanted to weigh me this time as well. That made me wonder if I looked fat.
I liked her scales though - they said I was 10 stone 12lb.
Checked on my own scales when I got home and they were saying about 11 stone. So I appear to have lost about 4 lbs in the last couple of weeks. :j Looks like exercising, eating smaller portions and drinking less alcohol is working (slowly). :A Just need to keep it up.
Went to Morrison's to get kitty meat and some bits and bobs. Bought one of those half watermelons because it looked lovely. Nearly picked up some toffee apples that cunning Morrisons had put nearby but decided not to. :A
Did 10 mins of my dance DVD and then 30 mins of Yogalates - I'm enjoying it but it's hard. I need to force myself to do more cardio as finding myself more drawn to the yogalates and pilates.
Got a £10 Amazon voucher through from another survey site yesterday. :j Now have about £45 of Amazon vouchers. :TSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,345, Car loan CC 0% BT £4900. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Feeling a bit rough this morning despite getting a longer sleep so gave the exercise a miss.

Need to get some ironing done before work and a few other things around the house.

Back again, worked three late shifts over the weekend. Had yesterday off and off today as well - back on late shifts tomorrow.
Did Shred level 2 again today and was nearly dying by the end of it, was really struggling because I hadn't done any exercise over the weekend.
Feeling better for getting back into it.
Have done lots of washing and ironing over the weekend as well as working but not much tidying. Oh well, at least OH did the hoovering.
Just planning on a lazy day today.
Ordered a coat online which arrived yesterday and it's lovely and toasty warm for the winter. It cost £75  but I paid £45 of that with survey money so only really cost £30. :j And my cashback for it paid for the delivery. :T
Really hating this five week month - OH doesn't get paid until Thursday and I get paid on Friday but all our direct debits start coming out from today.:eek: Having to shuffle money from the car and factor savings into the joint account so it plus the O/D will cover the direct debits. Then once we've both been paid we need to move the savings money back out plus the monthly amounts we pay to those savings.
On a more cheery note, once paid we'll be able to pay the last £30 off the Capital One card. :j Just leaving the £120ish on my Barclaycard that we used recently.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Had a nice lazy day yesterday after my exercise and shower, think I needed it.
Did 30 mins of Yogalates this morning, put a washing on and organised my dinner to take to work with me. Feeling a bit achey after yesterday's Shred but not too bad, hopefully the stretching in the yogalates will have helped a bit.
My silly boy cat keeps interrupting me when I'm in the yoga poses though - was doing downward dog and he kept sniffing my face which was quite tickly. :rotfl:
Here is my new coat - it's too warm to wear it yet though - typical!Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,345, Car loan CC 0% BT £4900. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Did level 2 Shred again this morning even though I woke up very achey from yesterday's yogalates. :j Then had my shower and stuck a washing on.
Work was fine last night, only 6 more shifts to go. Get paid tomorrow so can sort all the money out then and pay off the Capital One card. :T
Not much else to report atm, just working away again.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,345, Car loan CC 0% BT £4900. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
No exercise this morning, just some housework done instead - it still counts right?

Capital One card has been paid off. :j:j Only £100 to pay off my Barclaycard and we will be credit card free. :j Only the last of the DMP and the NR loan to concentrate on then.
Bloody factors ruined my happy feeling about the above though by sending us the block buildings insurance for the next year. £172. That's double last year's figure. That will wipe out our factor fee savings and we are going to really struggle to pay the next lot of factor fees in consequence.
Not to forget the extra £200 they want because other b*ggers in the development haven't been paying their fees.
Plus, Christmas is coming.... they've already started putting the lights up in town.
Just as well I got a bit extra in my pay this month after doing some overtime. OH is waiting for the contract for his new job and that involves a wage drop for about 9 months.
Worth it in the long run as the wages do get much better after that but it's going to be a struggle in the meantime.
Feeling really annoyed now. :mad:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,345, Car loan CC 0% BT £4900. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0
