10 mins of cardio and 10 mins of yoga this morning - better than nothing as feeling quite knackered after my first shift back at work - only six more to go.

Withdrew £20 from one of my survey sites so that's in my paypal account at the moment. Debating whether to leave it there or to move it to my savings account where I can't see it. Savings account only has £40 in it at the moment as just putting survey money/ odds & sods into it.

Need to go and get some ironing done before work. :(

Weather is a bit nicer today - have some sun for the first time in about a week! :)

I hate snow - just hoping there's no more of it. Makes everything more difficult, especially at work. :(

Have been bad with the exercise again and haven't done any since my last post. Will try again tomorrow. :o

Paid another £10 off my cc, taking the balance to £100. Should be able to pay this off fairly quickly and that's the washing machine paid for. :j

Only two more shifts to go until a couple of days off. Was offered overtime but really couldn't face it although the extra money would have been nice.

Planning to try and finish my Christmas shopping this week and get started on the wrapping.

Getting annoyed with my neighbours again (what a surprise). The bins haven't been emptied for nearly two weeks and are pretty full now so what do my lovely neighbours do? Just ditch the bin bags in a mound in the bin enclosure so you can't even reach the bins. I had to move them all and try and squash other people's crap into bins because they're too lazy and ignorant to do it themselves. When the binmen do (eventually) turn up they wouldn't have been able to get to the bins to empty them!

No doubt more rubbish will have been dumped today so I'll have to check when I get back from work tonight to make sure the bin men can actually get the bins out to empty them. It's times like this I really hate living in a flat. Why should I have to clean up after other people? There must be mutant rats and foxes living nearby due to the amount of rubbish these people dump on the ground.

Our factors have very helpfully sent us our quarterly bill (roughly £150) with £200 whacked on top due to bad debt elsewhere within the development. So we have to pay an extra £200 right before Christmas because there are other people who can't/won't pay their factor fees. Unfortunately we need to pay it but will be splitting it across two months. Have still had to take some money from the car savings to manage that though.

    Hi Sashy

Just catching up and saw this.

I don't know much about factors so please forgive my ignorance:rotfl:

Do you have an agreement of some sort that actually says that you have to pay extra if others don't because surely they can just take people to court and get a CCJ against them??

I think maybe next year you should not pay - what's the worst that can happen :rotfl:
  • Hope you're enjoying a couple of days off.

Bins are a problem in houses too. I live in terraced property, and there isn't room in the yard for all 3 big bins, so they are generally kept in the entry. I get really annoyed when I go to put my rubbish out and find my bin already full...

Hello, I've been being rubbish at updating again - back at work on early shifts, have worked 3 and only 4 more to go now. Already knackered. Got my work Christmas night out on Friday though. :j

EE :hello: - unfortunately it's written into the contract the development (as a whole) has with the factors. :( They are currently pursuing the people who haven't paid through the courts but obviously they aren't getting very far at the moment. Apparently we will get the extra money re-credited to our account as and when they get it back. Not holding my breath though.

Hi gilly, as you can tell I get rather annoyed by the laziness of the people in my block. It's just horrible that they think it's acceptable to just dump rubbish and expect other people to clean up after them.

Have pretty much finished my Christmas shopping and have started the sock monkey for my brother. :T

Have been rubbish with the exercise again though - it's so cold and I'm so tired when I'm on early shift that I just can't face it. :o

Again, being rubbish at updating. :o

Had my work Christmas night out on Friday and had a good time. Our manager even bought us champagne.:D It did have to snow though didn't it, so was teetering in my new boots down to the pub we were meeting in - it was very icy!

Had some bad news about the window in our spare room - it was leaking a bit when we had heavy rain a few weeks ago but wasn't too bad so we thought it was just a loose seal or something. When we had torrential wind & rain earlier this week we practically had a stream of water gushing through the bottom of the window. It flooded my desk but luckily OH woke up around 3am hearing running water and managed to save my computer etc.

We had a man out to look at it and he said the whole window needs replacing. Apparently settlement is causing the window to be crushed slowly and this is what's causing the water leak.:( We've contacted the NHBC as the flats were only built around 5 years ago, so they should cover the cost for us. Have the feeling it's going to be a fight to get it done by them though. :(

Oh and our Sky tv was knocked out by the winds as well so we've had no tv for over a week. No idea when it will be fixed either as it goes through the factor to a private company who were meant to show up on Friday. Guess what, they didn't appear - no doubt they'll blame the snow and now will refuse to go on the roof due to the ice. My mum still doesn't have her tv back either as Sky took over a week to get out to her, refused to go on the roof due to the ice and then said next appointment not until January!

Didn't think I would miss tv so much!:o

In money news have cashed out some more vouchers (Amazon & Boots) from survey sites and sold a book on greenmetropolis. :j Think I'll start a small savings fund again and give myself a target to aim towards.

The sock monkey for my brother has progressed but is still not finished. I did wrap about half of my presents the other day though. :T

Having a bit of a lazy day today but did get up and stick a washing on after OH went to work. Have got a big pile of ironing to get through as well.

Have also done 10 mins of cardio and 20 mins of yoga, just need to keep doing it instead of stopping and starting every few weeks. :o Have weighed myself and not putting on weight but do need to lose a bit more and get fitter as well.

Had a good clear out of my underwear and sock drawer as both were full of things that were past it/didn't wear or didn't fit. Looking much tidier now and know what I want to replace.

Was also checking my make-up as still trying to find a foundation that I really like. My skin keeps acting up and getting dry patches which the foundation sticks to - not a good look but it also needs to cover break outs. I'm quite pale so never sure of shades etc - don't want to look tangoed!

Thinking of trying some mineral stuff - was looking on the e.l.f. site and they do one for £3.50 so might have a try of that. If the shade isn't quite right at least it's not too much money. Unfortunately it's out of stock just now though so will probably have to wait until after Christmas. I always forget about that site so will have to remember it when I want to try different things make-up wise.

Credit card at £90 just now but can't pay anything else off it until payday on Friday. Think it will be the end of January before it's paid off but that's not too long and it means the washing machine has been fully paid for. :j

Getting an online shop delivered tonight so after that nothing needed except possibly milk. Have had to pay using OH's cc but it will be paid off straight away when we get paid at the end of the week so not too worried about that. The food will need to do us a few weeks though as January will be a bit tight.

As I'm working over Christmas & Hogmanay though I should be getting some nice overtime in January's wage. :j I do get Christmas day and New Year's day off as well so not too bad really.

Had a wander round town yesterday with my mum and got a few last bits and bobs. Then we went back to mine for lunch rather than eating out so saved a bit there. :) Used cash when shopping yesterday and it does make a difference - I was much more reluctant to part with it - so used to just using my debit card and not really thinking whether I need something or not. :o

Everything now wrapped and ready for Christmas. :j Except my brother's sock monkey which is a work in progress. :p Only need to sew the ears, face and eyes on and he will be finished as well though. :)

Managed to get all my ironing done plus did a white wash yesterday so had shirts to iron from that - all done as well. :j

No exercise yesterday apart from walking around town and back home and a lazy start today as well. Back to work today for late shifts, next day off is Christmas day. Still no Sky and doubt we will have it back for Christmas to be honest. :(

Have transferred the survey and cashback money made recently to my savings account as want to start saving a bit again. That account has approx £70 in it now - better than nothing I suppose.

Nothing much to report, feeling so tired and still another two days at work, then it's Christmas day. Then back to work for another two days after that. *thinking of the overtime*

Only have to sew on the sock monkey's face and he's done. Also need to make some mince pies for work as we're having a Christmas Eve dinner since we're stuck on back shift. Should be good fun as it's dress down, one of the guys is making steak pies, someone else is doing soup & pate plus we have someone else making a trifle. :j

My Sky tv is back. :j I really missed having tv. :o

Paid £40 off the cc today so only £50 left and that will be the washing machine paid off. :T We will have no cc debt at all once that's paid off (which will probably be the end of January). :j Need to wait for statements to come out so I can work out our final debt total going into 2012. The DMP will be under £1000 though so the bulk of it will be the evil NR loan. Think we've done pretty well this year though.

  • Popping by to see how you're doing and you've definitely done really well. Getting money into the savings account is a really good start to the year.
