Managed to do some exercise yesterday - did a bit of my Pilates DVD and a bit of another DVD with some hand weights. Have very sore arms this morning. :o Used the pedometer and wasn't surprised that I didn't quite make 1000 steps, oh dear, really need to move about more.

Back to work a day early to do some training for my new job, a bit annoying but I will be paid overtime for it. Only problem is that I'll be working eight late shifts in a row now. :(

Need to post my form to claim glasses money back today and also bank a cheque from one of my survey companies.

Sock monkey still unfinished, did housework instead yesterday, mostly washing and ironing.

OH had his iTunes account hacked. So he is in the process of claiming £100 back and has had to cancel his bank card.

Congratulations on the promotion. Set shift patterns will be easier to manage. Using a pedometer is a really useful way of keeping track of what you are doing. You don't need to do much, just do more than you were doing, iyswim. Its easy for the weight to creep on, so don't expect it to disappear quickly either.

Boo hiss to the itunes hack. Ever since DS had his Amazon account hacked a few years ago, he has had a pre-paid mastercard that he uses for things like that, so the most he can get hit for is a few quid. It also means he has to think before he spends anything!

    Hi Sashybo,

Hi gilli, yes the weight has just crept on without me really noticing until my trousers were getting tight - all seems to be around my stomach and thighs. Have been using the pedometer at work and tend to average about 5000 steps a day, which isn't bad considering I'm sitting in an office and do shift work.

Have started Shred again and will be aiming to do that every second day. Also going to start swimming at least once a week with OH as he needs to get more exercise as well.

A pre-paid mastercard sounds like a good idea for online buying - something to think about, thanks. :)

Hi sazzle, no not read the Guernsey literary and potato pie club but have had heard it's good from a few people. Will keep an eye out at the library for it.

So, I've been AWOL again due to work, very busy and trying to find my feet in my new job. It's all a bit  since I'm officially someone's supervisor now and my responsibilities have expanded. I'm getting there slowly but it seems to be very much learning on the job.

Managed to post my health claim away for money back for buying new glasses for both OH and I. Got the money yesterday and have paid it off so the remaining balance is £60. I'm thinking about ordering some daily contact lenses so I have them if I need them, shouldn't be too expensive as I rarely wear them but they are handy to have for nights out, swimming, exercising etc.

OH has got his money back from iTunes and his new debit card etc all sorted. I've also got about £140 in my savings account now so not too bad there.

In money spending, Joe Browns has a sale on, so ordered a shirt I'd had my eye on for ages as there was £10 off the original price. Also ordered some t-shirts OH had been looking at and got three for the normal price of one. :j

Poor sock monkey still doesn't have a face - I have the attention span of a gnat at the moment. :o

Have got a chiropractor appointment this afternoon and might be going swimming tonight with OH but am just relaxing otherwise.

My mum got a 5 year old Bichon Frise the other day, so I'm going to go and see her and the new dog hopefully tomorrow - he's so cute in his pictures. :D

I'm proud of myself as dragged myself (and OH) out into the rain last night and went to the pool to do some swimming. I was knackered after about two lengths. We're going to aim to go once a week in the evening and I'll be aiming for Shred three times a week plus a bit of Pilates. Need to try my hardest to keep it up though as I find it too easy to just give into my laziness. :o

Going to go out to my Mum's later to see her and her new dog, plus her new kitchen and bathroom. :)

Not much else to report atm.

If you can drag yourself out in the rain, you can do it anytime. Well done you!

Thanks gilli. :D Early shifts at work since Friday and they're killing me - find it hard to even contemplate exercise when I get home and have been up since 5am. Will still try and go swimming on Wednesday though.

My mum's dog is a little cutie and very friendly but is also an escape artist. :rotfl:She needs to dog proof her garden as he is small enough to squeeze under her fence and roam the neighbours' gardens. I had to climb fences and carry him back at least three times when I went to see her on Thursday! I suppose it was exercise though! He did snuggle up on the couch with me though with his head on my knee. :D

Off to get a shower and should really go to bed after that - fourth morning of getting up at 5am tomorrow.

Has been a long time since I last posted. A combination of work, tiredness and can't be bothered-itis.:o

Just coming up to the end of two weeks annual leave and not looking forward to going back to work, mind you the first day is always the worst and then it feels as though you've never been away!

Didn't do much with the time off except relax. OH's mum was up for 3 days (4 nights), staying at ours. It was....interesting.....and made me realise how much I need my own space! She did her usual thing of cleaning the kitchen every time my back was turned.:rotfl: I now have a very shiny splashback and extractor hood. Saves me doing it. :j

Have been with the company I work for for just over a year now. :j Our overall debt is under £10,000. :j OH is through to the second stage of a long interview process for a job he really wants (and a full career change) so hoping he does well in it. :j

Went to a work colleague's ruby wedding anniversary party last night and it was lovely. The couple were still very in love which was nice to see. :)

Today went to see the Harry Potter film with OH, it was ok but nearly died at the price of the cinema tickets. Now remember why we don't often go to the cinema.

Went to the supermarket for milk on the way home and had a bit of an upsetting incident. :( Was waiting at the deli for aaages and the woman behind me had an approx 6 month old baby with her, so I was smiling at him and said hello and he was smiling back, all nice and cute. The woman then said "I see you have a wee bump there, how far along are you?":eek::o:o I'm NOT pregnant, was absolutely mortified and just mumbled "I'm not" while hoping OH hadn't noticed the exchange. Woman meanwhile continues asking how pregnant I am. :o:o

Got out of there sharpish, feeling really upset and close to tears, have never left a supermarket so fast! Will never wear leggings in public again! I asked OH before we went out if I looked fat or a bit pregnant and he said no! I have put on weight around my stomach and thighs and know I need to lose a stone in weight but it was still a horrible experience. :(

Well have had a busy morning as finally got round to doing a few things I'd been putting off.

Firstly, I did some exercise which was hard work and really didn't enjoy it. :( Just confirms that I'm someone who struggles with exercise and is very unfit - was cursing my way through it. :o OH bought me an exercise programme that can be used on the PS3 - I did use it for about 2 weeks then gave up (as usual) so started with it again today. Workouts are generally 25 mins 4 days a week.

Plus we will be going swimming once a week - my shifts make it awkward but not impossible and I'm usually just being lazy but find it hard to keep my exercise motivation for any longer than 2 weeks.

I weighed myself last night and was horrified that I'm showing 11st 6lbs _pale_ - definitely at least a stone overweight for my height. I think I've been pretending not to notice my trousers getting tighter (again). I need to stop eating junk as well.

Secondly, I made an appointment for myself and OH to go and register with a new dentist and have a check-up next week. Haven't seen a dentist for at least a year. Was with the same dentist from birth until about 5 years ago when he retired. Moved to the dentist my file was passed to after a two year lapse and didn't like it, went twice and was nearly drowned by the dental nurse with the suction thingy and the dentist I got looked about 12yo. So didn't go back. So now trying again with another dental practice which I've heard good things about.

Also I got a letter from the Student awards agency today saying that the bursary money I owe them (from a few years ago) and have been paying back at £10 p/m has been paid in full. Confused as thought I still owed them approx £1500 so phoned up. They confirmed that I've paid back what was owed and will be sending me back an overpayment of £27. :j:j So one less debt to worry about now. :j

Have paid another £10 off OH's Capital One cc today so the total is now £90. :T Not long to go until it's cleared. :D

Our DMP with the CCCS has approx another 11 months to run and then that will be cleared - sitting around £1900 atm. So after that only the NR loan which is at approx £7100 to concentrate on clearing. :j

Might go out for a wander round the town with my friend in a bit but will see what the weather is up to - atm it's sunny/raining/sunny/windy then raining really hard and back to sunny again. :rotfl:
