What a lovely idea

Hope your tum feels better. Have a nice relaxing day. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

Nope, it was a foundation degree so just a 2year course:( Of course, I've not finished so am still going with my work, but officially I'm not registered as a student, so no loans/grants. Most of my friends on the course have carried on to do the 3rd year and 'top up' to a full honours degree but as I haven't finished I couldn't do that. Even if I wanted to I wouldnt have been allowed the tuition fee loan due to me studying when I was younger so I'd have had to pay the £3k myself...so that ruled that out anyway.
Once I've finished this I can still top up to a full degree by transferring my credits for the 2yrs to the OU and studying with them which might be the way to go.
It's today that the uni mitigating circumstances board are meeting - they have my latest application and I've asked to have until next May, to give me plenty of time....so fingers crossed:)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Fingers crossed for you Pixie - i hope you get the extra time to complete!Orange Fairy

Thank you Kel:p I'll email later and hear if I have til Xmas or next May...everything's crossed;)
So, I've been a busy bee so far today.
I have rung a few peopel - made a doc appt for next week to ask if I can have a lactose intolerance test.
I rang Sky and cancelled one of the packs and multiroom. Girls have multiroom with the old sky box in their room but they don't watch it much...they'll still get all the free channels anyway which include E4, BBc etc...will see if they notice in a month when it goes:D It's reduced my Sky bill from £59 to around £47.
I rang the CSA - what a surprise, ex didn't ring them at the end of July with his wage details. So told them he's not working again...they're going to contact him again.
I rang Next as I had a lovely pair of shoes for work come yesterday - one fit perfectly but the other was 2 sizes bigger:mad: They were sale ones too, so £18 from nearly £40...gutted. CHecked online and none left- but when I rang he said they're in stock so i have some coming tomorrow...keeping those fingers crossed that they're ok! Lovely black suede ballet pumps in their 'Heavenly sole' range so very comfy.
I also emailed Mothercare as I ordered 2 toys for my 3yr old niece in June when they were BOGOF with a big discount too. I paid £9.60 for £32-worth. One has just never been delivered to the store...the first email said it's out of stock you should have been told...um, no I wasn't told:mad: So I check online and it's in stock...grrr. Another email and they say ok it's on its way, delivered to home. So that's my niece's Xmas and birthday in January sorted:T
I have just sat and made a new list of my direct debits and incomings. My outgoings come to £998.87...that's now including the monthly car payment and council tax (that I've been exempt from for the last 2 years:o). My income is £1113.75 (not including tax credits). So wages, CB and HB cover all my bills - the extra is £114.88 which will be shared over my Next account, Littlewoods and Amazon. Littlewoods has about £70 and Amazon just £20 - I use the Amazon cc to buy off the site and collect points then pay in full every month.
So, tax credits pay for groceries and anything else. DD1 likes her school lunches so that has to now come out of that money. My weekly spends and petrol also come out of tax credits - I'm going to make such an effort to save out of this each week - I get TCs every Thurs, so anything left in the account on Wed night can go to savings.
Ok, feeling a bit more organised now:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

I have just done this and actually your post has reminded me that I haven't taken DD's school dinners into account
It does make you feel better knowing exactly where you stand with money even if there's not too much left over! It's also highlighted areas I need to cut back on - like phone line (might ring Virgin tonight as I think I'm getting a really bad deal). Whatever, I am going to have to be extremely careful.
So sorry to hear you're still chasing your ex/CSa for maintenance. Honestly, he has a good relationship with your daughters, how can he behave like this?? Keep on at them anyway....It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

Afternoon,
Well so much for saving any of my tax credits this week:o
Quick trip to town with dd1 cost me £30 at the hairdresser:eek: Bought her shampoo and hairdye in Boots afterwards for about £8, a new pencil case for school £5 and drinks and cake for £5. Grrrrr.
Youngest went to the cinema with her friend, she spent £6...I gave her 2 drinks and sweets to take in from Tesco...but she fancied a posh drink when there so wasted £3 on that - I'm not teaching her well enough:o So the cinema ticket only cost her under £3 as its orange wed but she wasted the rest on a drink:mad:
I'm in a grump as Uni emailed to say I can have until January - which means mid-Dec really as my tutors want all my work by then to mark. Looking at the pile of work I have left, it's not enough time. I know it's 4 months but I am so useless after a day at work that I can't do much during the week. I dont want to pile to much pressure on myslef as I know it only affects my health...I really wanted until May just so I could relax about it a bit. Have emailed again asking if there's no chance of a May deadline but we'll see. I don't want to have to apply again come Christmas...if they say no then I've wasted 4 months of working, I want to know now.
Ok, ramble over - time to do something useful. Must get a few more bits on ebay later.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Just a quick one - I need to get in the shower and ready to go out.
We're just collecting my 2 nieces today and bringing them back here to stay until Saturday, then we'll stay with them Sat night. I'll take the 4 of them swimming tomorrow...cheap trip out.
Taxcredits have been paid today and £100 put into spending account, £60 to grocery float account. I've worked out how much needs to be in the bill account each week and had £100 more than needed in there right now so have moved that into savings.
The replacement pair of shoes arrived from Next yesterday (1st pair were odd) - I opened them up to find the new pair were odd too - but this time it was the opposite foot in the wrong size:D Unfortunately I'd just sent the first odd pair off with the courier and didnt have his number to get my parcel back..grrr what a palaver;) SO I rang Next yet again and a 3rd pair is coming today. Funny how online the shoes aren't available, sale ones, but when I ring they have them in stock - I am glad as they're lovely, I just would like 2 shoes in the same size:rotfl:
Still have a few items sat on the table realy to go on ebay - must do it tonight. One is an old digital camera that I've seen selling for about £30 so I could do with that:)
Right, must go shower then wake girls up, we're leaving at 11.
A few groceries to buy - bread, rolls, milk...but not much. I really am keeping an eye on my grocery spends:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Morning:cool:
So, had a cheap day yesterday, collected my nieces and came home - spending £10 on bread, chicken, lollies, cookies and crisps (on bogof).
Today is payday:beer: And child benefit has gone in so my bills account looks very healthy:T I'm taking girls swimming today so that'll cost about £7, my eldest going to watch with me, so we'll have a drink each - should spend about £10 today then. Tomorrow we're off to my sister's - I have lots of lager and cider I got on offer a while ago so will take a few bottles. Hopefully I won't have to buy anything tomorrow then:D
3 more items put on ebay last night - I have a bid on 2 items now, hopefully they'll go up but at the minute I'll get £27. I'll need to get a few bits of food next week - will probably go on Monday/Tuesday - better do a meal plan first.
Time to get dressed;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Just spent £1 on the next 12 issues of the Radio Times - I love the Grabbit board:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0

Morning:D
For once it's sunny here so have got yesterday's damp load back on the line, along with another load. 3rd load is on the machine - all the swimming towels from yesterday.
We're off to my sisters later on - will leave about 2. I don't need to go to any shops today and have enough petrol so an NSD;)
Yesterday wasnt too costly - I spend £3 in the car park, £6 on the girls swimming and a couple of pounds on drinks while dd1 and I watched them swim. We came straight home after, dd1 and eldest niece went to a friends house, dd2 and youngest niece baked a cake and played on the Wii. We had wraps for dinner and wedges (using rather old potatoes that were languishing in the fridge:o) - very nice dinner.
I must get a meal plan for next week thought out - I'll go shopping on Monday.
Bank is looking fine. Had a refund of £38 for some school trousers I returned go in today. All that's waiting to come out is £35 I paid to Littlewoods yesterday - that account is now on about £60. I'll just keep paying the minimum as it's interest free anyway.
We'll be home again tomorrow afternoon - will just need to decide what's easy to do for dinner tomorrow, might need to buy something as fridge looking a bit low. An easy pasta meal I think.
Ok, off to clean off the trampoline for my niece. The other 3 still in bed:eek:I really need to sort out a new signature!0
