  • Hiya Pixiechick :)

Yay to the new car! Definitely justified! Don't feel bad!!!

I am the biggest DFW fraudster going tbh - truthfully, I'm not in as much of a hurry to pay off my cc any more :o Is that bad???! I'm happy that my deal is at 0% and also happy that next year's holiday was booked on credit… Going to a wedding abroad - would've missed it had I saved up first :rotfl: I still like posting to keep track/justify spending and no longer feel like my cc spending is out of control - everything put on it now is either cleared at the end of the month or a big purchase I know I need to clear by £x a month etc. I'm sure you were v sensible with your car purchase/shopped around for best loan etc and it's a necessity for you. If you'd told me you went on a spending spree round Selfridges then I would be telling you off :p (I secretly want a £10k car, £135k house and £400 handbag… hmm, how to justify all those things… :rotfl: )

Hope you're having a lovely summer holiday :)
    Afternoon;)

I was going to give up on the diary...as I feel really silly posting here when I've just spent so much money on a car:o
But...I need to keep an eye on everything and not slip into spending money easily so I'm going to keep the diary going and make sure I don't lose the plot:D

So - I have the car:) I have just closed the loan I took out with the bank as the car dealer gave me a better rate.I got a year warranty at a reduced price, I put £3k down on the car so am paying £83 a month back now on the rest. I did look at my finances before i all and I do have the money available each month, it's not leaving me short. Ok, I've now made my attempt at justifying it - now I'll just enjoy it:D

I'm off to get a few groceries soon - we have my niece here until Wed. Next thursday we're off on holiday for a week so I don't want to spend much on groceries - also, the grocery account is quite low, considering it's only Aug 1st now:eek: So, meal plan is done and i will NOT spend too much.

I had a really lazy week last week - now I need to be a bit busier and get things round the house done, while I have the time. I need to think what needs doing.

Hope all well - if you're still reading that is;)

what's this??? a pity party & no one invited me!!! If anyone is a fraudster its me - we spent £600 on a weekend away last week :ohey you two lovely ladies don't you dare stop posting, what would happen to my social life??? :rotfl:

serio though - pixie you need to keep posting as you need to clear that car loan, stay on track get through the next year at uni before you get head hunted by a top school offering you loadsamoney :p Nd La E - you too need to keep posting to get rid of that cc, Mr La E's loan, open your own spanish yoga school somewhere hot & invite me & pixie for a champagne style break at your retreat somewhere exotic & sppanish speaking :p:p

Oh you two lovely ladies...thank you so much for the words and support, I'm glad it's not just me who's not being a super-whizzy DFW;)

One thing the car purchase has done is make me focus more on my money and my spending. All I spent today was the £5 I gave dd2 to go swimming - my friend paid for her to get in so dd just bought hotdog and chips after. She's been out all day so I think £5 not a bad spend for that:D

Looking forward to a trip away to the yoga retreat....mmmm, champagne too, sounds perfect:T

Oh you are lovely - me, headhunted??!! Never heard of TAs being headhunted before;) I'd just be happy with them restoring my hours to FT (25)...I dropped 5 to go to Uni but they can't give them back now. That and a pay rise:rotfl:

Quick post before we go out - dd1 is having her braces off today:beer: Just a year they were on, so she's very pleased! One appt at 10.30 and another at 4...back and forward today:D

So, money will go on parking and later I'll use the park and ride bus as parking will be a nightmare. Drinks at the hospital are essential of course - part of the day out there;)

Otherwise i won't spend anything else. Girls are with their dad tonight so I can have a lazy night (mind you, every night is lazy here). Might rustle up a risotto with chicken out of the freezer...or I might be really lazy and have spaghetti on toast:rotfl:

I'm having a lazy night at Tesco - all part of the masterplan to clear the cc - no lunches out and less temptation to get take aways :p Not that my cc is full of work lunches, but when I go out for lunch in the middle of town there is more temptation!!

Your DD will be well chuffed about getting her braces off.

Yip ladies, both definitely invited to the yoga retreat :D It might just be a church hall in Sheffield but I will still know where the champagne is being served :rotfl:

Ahhh the braces didn't come off:( She was very disappointed to begin with, but - he never said 100% it would happen, he hoped to, and unfortunately there was a gap between 2 teeth not quite closed yet.

But, she got over it quickly - after a hot chocolate and bar of choc in the cafe:D We had my niece here too, so on the way back we nipped to Tesco where I returned a kaftan thing I'd bought for holiday - I swapped it for a dvd for them to watch and some leave in Aussie hair conditioner for holiday. I also spent £12 on suncream, 24cans of pepsi, make up wipes for hol and french bread for a nice lunch. I also told them about some reduced salmon that I boiught on monday - I noticed that when I got home they'd charged me twice for it. Luckily they were happy to just see the receipt and I got my £2.30 back plus £2.30 as they double any overcharges:j

Niece has gone home now and my 2 gone to stay overnight with their dad. I have just munched on a scotch egg (classy, I know;)), so not sure if I can be bothered to cook a risotto.

I must make a list of things to do/buy before we go away next week. Car park booked, just need insurance.

    Just caught up :)

You're making me jealous with all your holiday prep. We got back 2 days ago and although it was a scorcher yesterday, it is now peeing down and making me all depressed :(

Good news on the car though! Don't feel bad about it. As others have said I'm sure you worked out the figures properly first. Having a reliable car that cuts out any brekdown/repair bill worries will be well worth the £83 you'll be paying every month. What did you get?

Boo to the braces not coming off but it sounds like they'll only need a couple more months. Far better to persevere with them than to have to have another set later on.
It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :j

Hi poles...yes, today's weather is miserable...especially if you've just returned back from the sun:o Glad you had a lovely break, hopefully today's just a blip and you'll see the sun again this weekend:D

I'm looking forward to ours...wish we weren't flying ryanair though, I'm nervous about us all sitting together - I'm such a worrier:o Sure it'll be fine though - and it is only a short flight, I just worry about the girls.

The car - it's a Peugeot 207, 08 registration, very lovely. I am so easily pleased - I just love having stereo controls by the steering wheel, lovel the display that tells how many miles to go til I need petrol and keys with a button to open/lock the car:rotfl: See, you can tell I've not had a newish car before!!

I'm having a nice quiet day to myself today, girls are coming back after dinner...so, hooray, no cooking for us all for me:D

Today I cleared out the cupboards in the sideboard, filled a couple of binbags of old folders and notebooks and general rubbish. Emptied the drawers too, so all a bit neater and with more space now. I then nipped out to look for a bikini for dd2...tried M&Co but none whatsoever, so thought I'd go to tesco for a few bits I needed. Found a lovely bikini in the sale - top £2.50 and bottoms £1.50...just hope she likes it now;) Spent £8 on top of that on a few other bits and bobs.

Off to meet my sister and 2 of her girls in town tomorrow...we don't need to buy much, but a bit of lunch and a wander will be good. Must check for any last few bits we need for holiday that I can get.
