Keeping_Motivated wrote: »I agree its thoughtless and sensitive ggrr what a plonker...however I wonder if you should speak to the girls? Ask how they feel about finding out this way? If they don't like it then ask what they think they could do about it ie speak to dad themselves, write him a letter, unfriend him etc...or if they say they don't mind then maybe you could say ok I respect how you feel but if ever you change your mind or if something is on your mind you can always discuss it with me.
That way you are giving them skills for accessing their feelings and how to cope with them feelings. I know as a mother I would want to wade in and sort it for them but maybe speaking to them is the way to go?
Hiya KM, thanks for replying:D
I do think that'd be a good idea...but, I don't think they'd tell me really, they'll just say it's fine, we don't mind. He's just insensitive and still thinks there's nothing wrong with showing his new girlfriend off...god knows how long it'll last anyway:rotfl: But that's what's silly - they don't last so he has no need to tell the girls...making himself look a bigger numpty than ever really;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hmm, I'm dreading the day when ds is old enough to be friends with his dad on f/b
I think its best to let them decide but I agree its very insenstive of him to announce it on there knowing they will find out that way  But then, ex's aren't known for their sensitivity or thought are they?? Chin up chick xx Mortgage Total: £50,772/ £75,000
Mortgage Overpayments Pot £16800 -
I hate fb sometimes. It seems that it's just a place for people to big themselves up. Or, the way some people have to put everything that's happening in real life on facebook. get a life! i find it all rather sad really. I think KM's suggestion of asking the girls what they think is a good idea. Agree totally, it does make him look a numpty

Ok, spending today - £11 on a new fish tank and little statue to go in it:D Old one was too big and took up lots of room on my kitchen windowsill...new one is round and smaller, perfect for 1 fish (that's 4 yrs old:eek:). Knowing my luck the darn fish will die tomorrow after I've spent money on it:rotfl:
£9.50 on a new PE top for eldest...she's still wearing the little on I bought her nearly 3 years ago when she started secondary:D
£1.40 on a cuppa in the supermarket cafe and £11 on groceries.
I've even done some work today:beer: Have done most of the intoduction to my assignment - feel so much better now I have something down. I shall keep doing little bits this week. Off work again on Wednesday so more can be done then:)

I nearly disabled my profile last summer when I kept seeing what girls friends were up to - all without inviting my 2...it's really silly of me, but I hated to see mine left out:o
Some people really do post everything on there (ex hubby now is one of them!) Me and him have blocked each other though so neither of us can see the other exists...if only if were really like that:rotfl::rotfl:
PS...Nice to see you in my diary dangers...used to seeing you on BB's! Another west country girly:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Grrrrrrrrr:mad:
Ex related anger here:mad::mad:
I got girls to delete him...I just think you shouldn't see/read that kind of stuff about your dad. Why can't he be a normal, responsible dad instead of one with no home of his own, pays no bills, just lives to go out with friends. Youngest told me that last night he was showing her photos of him on his nights out, on his phone - she's just not interested, it's so weird:rotfl:
Anyway, when he found out, I had a ranting, shouting, swearing phone call - needless to say I hung up, but dd2 heard him...what a numpty (and that's me being kind).
So, I am trying to keep myslef cheery and not think about it...won't let him upset me any more. I'm only doing it to protect girls and try keep their lives as normal as possible, he just thinks it all impresses them.
Anyway - off work today, tis Wednesday;) My friend's coming for a cuppa in an hour - going to have a look at the start I made to my essay and get my head round that again.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Spends this week have been low - just the new fish tank and PE shirt bought from my 'Spends account'. Later on I'm nipping to big Tesc0 with dd2...she wants another hair dye...wish she wouldn't dye it, but it's just one to even out her hair as she has fair roots coming in and kids at school said she's going grey:o
I have a few bits to buy there, not too much.
Also have 2 parcels to send, ebay sales:beer:
Pair of shoes that sold for £30 - I bought them from US ebay for dd2 but got sent the wrong size so he refunded me and said I could keep them. Very kind - I stuck them on ebay and made £30:D
I have just over £100 in Paypal...fab:T
Right time to go do an hours work.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Probably best to get the girls to delete him. I have just had a thought though - I don't know your history with your ex but could he be putting all this stuff on facebook to make you jealous? I can't think of any other reason why a grown man would want his daughters to see what he's up to unless he wanted things to get back to you. By all means put what you like if you know that all those who see it wouldn't get upset by it. Seems very strange to me.
Forgive me if I am barking up the wrong tree completely
I must admit I have stayed away from facebook for almost a week now because I saw some stuff that upset me and TBH I haven't missed it that much
