Evening people;)
It's my eldest's birthday today - 14 now:D How old does that make me then??!!
Girls are out at club right now and I'm nipping off for a chinese for us soon, so that'll be a surprise for her...she asked for it but I said too dear, but my student loan went in today so am feeling flush (and generous:D).
We had a good weekend at my sister's - we all went out for a meal on Saturday where it's 2 meals for £10...so we all ordered together and my share was £15...bargain:p
I did succumb to the temptations of Next yesterday and bought 2 tops for £24...but I don't like either of them enough so they're going back:rotfl: I have a pile of things to return to various shops, might nip to town on Wed and do it then.
I have a timed essay to prepare for at uni next week:eek: Was hoping not to do it yet but I may as well...not done any prep so thats the plan for this weekend. Girls with their dad on Sunday so will do it then. On Sat dd1 is having birthday lunch in Pizza hut for her and 6 friends, so need to go in and meet them, leave them to it then go back and pay:eek: They can all have the buffet so wont be too much.
Then it's dd2's birthday 2 weeks after that...I am always glad when May is over :rotfl:
Right, I must go and tidy up a bit before I go and get the takeaway...looking forward to it:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Enjoy the chinese...mmmm.
I did Pizza Hut for my DD and her friends for her birthday, the buffet is really good value! It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Well dd had a good birthday and has lots of money to go and spend:D
I'm not at college today - they're on an outdoor visit which I didn't fancy. I've been and had my weekly blood test, not going for 2 weeks after this then hopfully just monthly. I've been and done the food shopping...£70:eek: But that did include £7 on some new knives which were desperately needed...and I spent a few pounds on bags of sweets for a Eurovision game my friend likes to play:rotfl: You all have a country and when the scores come in you get a sweet for every point your country has;) It'll keep the girls amused anyway.
Must do some prep fpr the essay next week - I'm dreading it, hating the course again and sorely want to give up:( It's a great big thing hanging over me all the time.
Anyway, need to go and tidy up - think I'll have half an hour sorting upstairs then let myself have lunch:D
£22.90 on Onepoll...and plodding on with it:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hey Pixiechick, how long have you got left on your course? Do you have to do it as part of your job or is it to improve job prospects? If you don't have long to go and you know deep down that it will be worthwhile long term then just take one assignment at the time.
If your heart really isn't in it and you're happy with your job etc now then I guess you need to weigh up whether the investment (time, effort etc) will be worth the outcome... You always do seem to do well in all your assignments though so I bet you will do a fab job on the next one too
Ooh, my friend might be staying over on Saturday - might need to get some sweets for that eurovision game
Glad your DD had a good bday!
I'm going to check out Onepoll again then, if it's going a bit quicker... ETA - typical, 'no surveys available'...

Hiya chick - well, re the course...officially it finishes in a month, but I have only completed the first assignment (that my fellow students handed in just before Xmas:o)...since then I was working on the rest of my outstanding assignments from the 1st year..arghh:o With feeling up and down due to the Crohn's...new medication that left me feeling poo...I've not done much of the 2nd yr stuff. I have deferred my submission dates til August...and I plan to apply again then for further mitigating circumstances to give me til the January submission date.
So really, it's not too bad...it's just I have to do this timed essay in college with everyone else...I'd not thought I'd have to so hadnt even looked at the title:rotfl:
I just look at the remaining assignments and don't feel inspired at all...lots is work based stuff which I HATE asking for help or advice about. Teachers are so busy, I hate to be a nuisance;)
I won't get any more pay or promotion from having the foundation degree...most on my course did it so they can do the third 'top up' year for a full degree then do teacher training. That's not for me now - I've realised that anyway:o
My main reason for not jacking it in is that I worry I'd have to repay some of the grant i got...typically comes down to money for me! And to have had about £10k of loans and not have passed the course seems mental...I must or I think I'll regret it in years to come:o
I know I 'can' do it - I just find the motivation bit hard...I must just knuckle down.
Thanks for making me think about it:beer:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

)

Of course you can do it. You've achieved sooo much and you can achieve this too.;)0

You've all given me a much needed bit of enthusiasm about my course:beer:
So, nothing much going on here - eldest is out at the fair in the village, youngest went last night with friends. I'm so tired so will be hoping dd1 comes in quite early so I can feed her and get to bed:p
Tomorrow is dd1's birthday meal with her friends, so will have a wander round town with dd2 while they're eating then go and pay. Girls are with their dad on Sunday for a few hours, so that's time for me to get on with the darn essay planning...am not hopeful at all:o
Might start dinner now, feed no.2 child and myself:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Woop woop - £106 from Quidco arrived in my bank account today:beer: So have put it in a separate account that I'm stashing money for holiday. Mind you, bit late to be stashing, the balance is due on Thursday:o
I've had enough of Uni - the assignments all bore me to tears, I just lost patience with it all yesterday when I was meant to be doing my essay plan for the timed essay on Wed. I just thought I can't do a good enough plan...have no idea what I'd write 2500 words on. I've emailed the finance office asking what would be repayable by me if I stop now and emailed my tuor saying Im seriously considering stopping. We have a big action research project to do which I'd be doing in September - that doesn't interest me at all, it's just a big hassle having to ask people at work for help and support.
I want the degree but am really not enjoying this course. I might look into OU courses, transferring the credit from the first year I've completed. I wish I knew what was the right decision:o:oI really need to sort out a new signature!0
