I spend £160-£200 per month on shopping for 2 of us, that includes all toiletries, cleaning products etc. Without knowing what you buy its difficult to advis e where you can cut down but just a couple of suggestions from your menu above:

I personally never buy strawberries out of season unless they are heavilly whoopsied!! Apart from being a total rip off they're also nothing like as nice as in season ones!!

Are you buying fresh peppers for your pasta? I buy a bag of frozen peppers to use in anything wher they are cooked. Mr M has them for £1 a bag but I assume other supermarkets will have them too.

My list always has the words 'fruit', ''veg' and 'salad' and I don't plan exactly what I'm going to buy in each of those categories, I wait till I get there and see whats on offer, although I do list anything specific that I need for recipes.

Im pretty much the same when it comes to my shopping list, my meats I list- but fruit, veg, salad is listed just like that.....and I have a nosey round. I got 2 packs of vine toms yesterday whoopsied from 1.79 each to 84p each doing that :money: I didnt really want so many toms.....guess whos cous cous salads at lunch are going to be heavily tomato based for a couple of days ;)

Well Ladies.....glad to see were all still on the wagon & fighting the food fairies :A 1st WI for me tomorrow after the Mahoooosive holiday gain so ive got everything crossed (except when I need to get up and walk about.....bit hard on the crutches - dont you agree skintslimmer :rotfl:)

    EE again for me

    B 2 satsumas & a mullerlight

L 2 boiled eggs, 1/2 pack ainsley chilli cous cous, 2 big toms, onion, cucumber. mullerlight

T Pork stir fry, red & orange peppers, onion, water chestnuts, 1/2 pack blue dragon sauce 4syn sw chips. mullerlight?

HEB fibre plus HEA milk for teas with brekkie
    Drinks Green tea & Lemon

Syns 4 stir fry sauce 4.5 penguin wafer

    snacks satsumas

Have a good day all.......Time to tackle a bit of Ironing again before it threatens to escape the basket and come and suffocate me :rotfl:

Quick question, how much do you spend on your shopping? I went to tesco yday and spent a whopping £60 on a weeks food, NOT very MSE at all  And thats not even including household stuff. I want to half my bill but im not sure i can? HELP!

I went to MrT's at about 9 o'clock last night and saved a fortune with yellow stickered stuff - carrots down to 19p (carrots for crying out loud! it takes them months to go 'off'!!), big juicy vine toms for 20p, sweet red peppers reduced to 30p, twinpack of salad for 30p - stuff I wouldn't usually buy due to the high prices. Yellow stickered bread went straight in the freezer.
Also I can highly reccomend Aldi or Lidl for fruit and veg - good quality and much lower prices than normal supermarkets.

Sorry again for spoiling the thread a bit yesterday. I think I was a bit on edge partly due to embarrassment, it's not nice to not be able to afford things - this is the MSE website after all! :money: But this week's fiver went on a shedload of reduced fruit and veg which is going to enable me to have a very happy SW week!!

Hope we can all get back to normal again. :)

    Green for me today:

    Brekkie:
    tea with 1/2 HEA1 milk
    banana
28g frosted wheats with 1/2 HEA1 milk (for cereal to be HEB1 I will eat 1 ryvita at some point!)

    lunch:
veg and lentil stew (leftovers) - free
prob have that 1 ryvita with this

    snack
    chilli flavour ryvita minis (HEB2)
    low fat cheese (HEA2)
    grapes
this is my new fave snack - tiny slices of cheese and grapes on chilli ryvita minis is delish!

    dinner
    pasta
    roasted sweet red peppers
tesco extra light soft cheese with garlic and herbs (3 syns)
    rocket

dessert will be a weightwatchers dessert yoghurt -can't believe they are free! got the toffee and vanilla ones as well. so happy to find another free yoghurt that's not mullerlight (really sick of them now!!)

    total syns = 3!

Lost 2lb since last weds - despite my birthday weekend blowout. SW is fab! :D

    Good afternoon all
well done on the losses :T

I must be breaking the law as I don't have a "treat" after weigh in :rotfl:- I always used to when I did WW and it was a habbit that was hard to break. I find I enjoy every last bite of what I eat day in day out now so I don't need to "treat" :p

Lisa26 -I think that when you put the disc in you can select if you have a board to use or not, a lot of the activities don't use one anyway...

I did the workout the trainer picked for me this morning and chose the medium effort option.... well what can I say apart from eek.gif -it was only 25mins and burnt about 125cals but core blimey did I feel it -you use resistance bands tongue.gif.. it looks like it could be good cross.gif...
I have picked the 3 week start up challenge -you do 4 sessions a week and then Im hoping to use the other ea sports game to do the step and boxing with the step raiser and dumbells inbetween ...lets see if I can keep this up angeldevil.gif....

Well folks Im on another red day and it should look like this:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • tuna fish
    • tickled cabbage
    • tickled beetroot
    • 3 ryvita (B)
    • 1 cheese triangle (2)
    • tropical fruit
    • activia (2.5)
    • grapefruit
    • lemon and 5 spice chicken (3)
    • stir fried:-
    • onions
    • mushrooms
    • carrots
    • broccoli
    • red peppers
    • 28g peas (1)
    • 28g sweetcorn (1.5)
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • fibre plus (B)
    • frozen cherries
    • orange
So I make that 2A+Bs and 10 syns covered biggrin.gif -I really need to get back into the routine of having brekkie -I seem to have lost it whilst hubby was off work confused.gif..

The lemon and 5 spice chicken is supposed to be done with chicken thighs but I don't like them , so I sliced the breasts up last night and put it in the marinade then later I will add it to a stir fry mmmmmmm.
right I had better get off and get lunch and then on with some more sorting -have a great day everyone biggrin.gif

Thanks. I do think that the occasional 'blowout' is a good diea - it's makes your metabolism sit up and take notice after weeks of the same kind of food.
In the 1 class I went to the girl with the biggest loss had eaten an indian takeaway that week.

I am definately going to allow myself a flexi day every couple of months (especially for things like valentines day and easter) and wil be interested to see what the impact is each time.

glad your toe is on the mend

although i already know you're a man-(damn you men for losing weight faster than us women) i can only speculate at your age,i find that as you get older you lose the tact and diplomacy that you once treasured in your early 20's,so be careful oldie and if you see me messing up PM me,any advise would be truly welcomed, unless i feel that you're talking out of your a$se then i'll say,cos i'm that old :rotfl::rotfl:

Oldie?? Well now I know how people get offended by words from a stranger!!

    I'm 24

And I too had a blowout this week - last Wednesday. WI night is always a treat for us so I had chicken nuggets and chips from the chippie. Worked out exactly how many syns I had eaten, and adjusted my weekly allowance accordingly so I was actually allowed 10 syns per day instead of 15. I've been around 5 for each day of the week since then, and also been at the gym four times and the Wii once. I feel like I've worked damn hard this week, not touched a drop of booze (my biggest poison) and got firmly back on track. Fingers crossed for tonight, I'll be pretty disappointed if I haven't lost anything.
Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.
