I never asked you to, I gave you my opinion which I still believe.

    On with the show please.

Thanks, maman, chicken cacciatore sounds nice - I'll have a look at the website for that one. I must admit I hadn't really thought about adapting recipes - I suppose it's not too difficult with a bit of thought :)

I think MrsM's adapted hundreds:rotfl:Often it's as simple as just using frylight instead of oil or lean bacon instead of pancetta.

This is true - pretty much everything has a SW equivalent out there!

well to be frank i couldn't care less about your opinion. But I do care that you continually ruin this thread for me with your nit picking, bickering, negativity and judgemental attitude.

Guilty as charged :rotfl: -I do have some SW cook books but find the sauces very wazzy -I love the world of flavours one mind, but the others are sat gathering dust :o -I went through all my old good food. fresh, olive etc mags and adapted what caught my eye snd "so far" they have been brill *if I do say so myself* :D
Credit -crunch I re-posted a recipe using rissotto rice yesterday "Spanish rice with chicken and chorizo" if you do a search it should come up -if no I will dig it out for you -tis scrummy ;)

My new plan is to go through the mags again and type up all the recipes I want to try -but haven't and THEN I can get rid of all the cookery mags :jIm typing all the ones we have tried up as I go along anyway,, so i may as well get the others done..
Hope everyone is having a nice day,,, off to do some more fettling... hubbies bread is bakes and the Irish beef stew is done and just needs re-heating later ..so Im all set :D

    hi everyone

i did sw last year for a while, and now that im engaged & a wedding to slim for i am goin to go back once i get on top of my finances.

in the meantime i am goin to buy the mags etc but im trying to meal plan for the next few days/ weeks and wondered if anyone could suggest sw recipes for the following:
    chick & brocili pasta bake?
cottage pie (made with beef mince)

i also have risotto rice that i would like to use up as well!

    tia

It's easy to adapt a syn free cottage pie: I just googled this
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/comfortingcottagepie_14505

and it was the first one that came up. You just brown the mince with frylight (if needed) leave out the butter and horseradish from the mash (and add some yoghurt or fromage frais or HE milk) and it's done! Personally I'd add some extra veg to the meat sauce like mushrooms, leek and celery for extra superfrees and eat it with broccoli or cauilflower or cabbage.

I don't do pasta bakes but I assume if you used tomatoes/passata for the sauce rather than a creamy one it could be very low syn. It's the cheese that adds the syns to most pasta dishes. HTH.

I am not going to 'give up' or 'fail' without going to class. It made me feel WORSE not better. and I really dont see why I have to justify this any further.

Betty, you don't have to justify to any of us here ;) The majority certainly don't think any worse of you and fully understand your reasons hun. x x

You have the basic book now (which is what you really needed anyway) and you have the rest of us mottly crew to help out where needed :rotfl:x x
