Thanks, maman, chicken cacciatore sounds nice - I'll have a look at the website for that one. I must admit I hadn't really thought about adapting recipes - I suppose it's not too difficult with a bit of thoughtI did the chicken cacciatore that was in the magazine a couple of copies ago. That was syn free and very nice. You could adapt any recipe. And HM burgers are good. I've had SW pork ones with sage but you could again adapt a recipe for beef.
I'm looking for a chicken curry recipe (preferably syn free). Do you use the one with loads of different spices or is there a simpler way? I've done the lamb dhansak and that is OK but I fancy something a bit fruitier.0 -
Afternoon peeps :hello:
Congratulations to today's losers & good luck to those weighing in tonight
Going green again today:
B - mushroom scrambled eggs (2 for the splash of milk) & baked beans with 21g grated light cheese (half HEA)
L - 3 scanbran (3) with 3 light cheese triangles (HEA) & tomato, dynorod soup *parp*
D - pasta with HM sauce (1 for half tsp oil), might do a couple of quorn sausies to go with it, grated light cheese (half HEA) & wholemeal co-op pitta (HEB)
Snacks (if peckish) - pear, clems, yog
Just realised I have another HEB to eat so will have a fibre plus for supper :j Talking of which, I was in my local Home Bargains today & they had an offer on for out-of-date individual fibre plus bars for 10p each!! None left unfortunatelybut I'd have bought some if they had them, out-of-date wouldn't have worried me for that price!!
Have a good day everyone :wave:0 -
Thanks, Dontknowanymore
I hadn't thought about parma ham either...hmmmmm, I feel a stuffed chicken dish coming on lol. Thanks for all the suggestions. My plan is to get a good range of staple recipes I can cook for us all and maybe do a once a week 'cook' so I can freeze things and so won't be tempted by anything I shouldn't.

me too! and i love adapting recipes to the SW way - I am a sucker for Nigella and Jamie Oliver (very non-SW friendly) but use their books for 'inspiration' all the timeBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Just been to my first weigh in and lost 4 lbs :j:j
I am so pleased because I havnt starved myself at all and i have had some tasty meals and snacks too.
I have had less bread and dairy and had no alcohol (im sure my liver is glad after a boosey christmas!!) but have been able to enjoy eating both protein and carbs without having to weigh them as i have been doing extra easy week not to mention lots of lovely fruit and veg :T“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -
ugh, oh well there's always ebay. thanks anyway
it might be cheaper just to go to class for one more week and just buy a load of the books?
in fact the way my class is set out you could walk into the hall and buy books without having weigh in or pay
or whereabout do you live? someone might be local to you and willing to get books for you0 -
Skintslimmer wrote: »thanks Dizzy that means a lot. As I say, my ex-housemate piled on the stones when she did hers, and she started off even bigger than me. When she did hers we'd both just started a diet, and she immediately ditched the diet and turned to comfort eating. I saw how much doing that put back her physical progress, and so when mine happened I vowed strongly that I wouldn't put on due to these circumstances. It helps that we had a MASSIVE falling out in between times, so if 'm honest there's a lot of "I'm sooo going to handle this better than she ever did, silly cow" in me
Still, whatever gets results...
I've been reliant on others a lot... which is VERY hard to get used to, isn't it?
Yup I pretty much had the same attitude (once I'd got my head out from my bum and could actually walk welenough on the zimmer to leave the house) I figured I had no control over whatever else was happening to me....but I could damn well do something about being fat!! :rotfl:
ANd yes - when you have been independant, its soul destroying to suddenly have to rely so heavily on everyone else for silly little things that you would normally take for grantedBUT it wont be forever Hun
....for either of us x x
Tell me about it!!!! Part of me is feeling angelic and positive about 'sorting myself out' part of me is angry with myself for letting things get to this stage ( I had vowed that I'd never allow myself over the thresh hold of mumble mumble stones again, but I hit that then added another half stone for good measure) and I'm also feeling daunted at the prospect of everything I want to achieve. Hey ho no-one to blame but myself and no-one else can do it but me .........hmmm just thought do those fairies that force people to eat naughty food still hang around these parts? lol.
.
No point beating yourself up over it hunat least you have made the decision now and taken the 1st steps in the right Direction :T
And yes...sorry to say but the nasty little bleeders do still lurk round here waiting to pounce when we're not expecting it  sodding fairies....think I must have packed a load in my suitcase with me  :rotfl:sweetserendipity wrote: »Afternoon peeps :hello:

I really dont want to go back, so i'll prob just go without any more books. I'm new to the area so I don't know anyone else who can get them for me. Just wanted the 2011 food directory really but I'll cope without it for the time being!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

With respect, I still think you're being over dramatic.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.
