Excuse me quoting my own post but I just wanted to clarify that I've only had 4 syns tonight, not 4 glasses of wine, lol!! :rotfl:
daisy, yes I'm going to be posting on here every day, I love this thread!!
alisont, just remembered... are you our resident vegan?? I was watching an old episode of Come Dine With Me a while back & they had a vegan contestant on who made a gorgeous looking mashed aubergine & spinach curry, I'm actually thinking of trying it myself as it went down very well with the non-vegan contestants. The ingredients are fine for SW apart from the vast amount of oil she uses but I'm sure it would be do-able with frylight or a smaller amount of synned/HE oil?? Don't know if the quinoa & chapatti are SW friendly but I'd serve with rice & a HE pitta instead anyway

????? Did I miss something when I was on my holidays  ????
Yes, slightlyI slipped on a frozen puddle putting the wheeliebins back in on 28th Nov, and spent the next 9 days in hospital (yeuck hospital food was grim). Dislocated my ankle, and broke both tibia and fibula for good measure  no half measures here
They eventually operated on me (not NHS's fault - my leg resembled an elephant's and they had to wait for the swelling to go down before they could operate) and I am now the proud owner of a screw and a plate holding my leg together, a lime green cast and two sets of crutches
I'm speshial, me!
This all happened just before my college coursework deadlines, and just in time for me to miss peak season at my part time job in a barfamily/housemate/doctors/physio didn't trust me to be alone during the day in my house, so I was duly shipped off to Norfolk to stay with my parents. got online about mid-december to re-join here here, as I remember an ex-housemate piling on the stones very quickly when she broke her foot, and I was blinkin' determined to do the opposite. Been back on here since mid-december I think, as obviously I can't get to a class and have only recently mastered the art of standing on scales one footed (without cheating and leaning on the crutches!
).
Looks like I have lost overall, rather than gained, although exactly how much isn't clear. To be honest, I'd be happy if when I go back to class I end up weighing even just 1lb less than before. However I am very close to the next stone down and would be very pleased if it said that stone something, rather than the next one up
ETA I was very disappointed to find you weren't here when I got back, as I was looking forward to sharing with you my horror stories of just how long I went without "going" thanks to my medicine! :rotfl: I knew you'd understand
PPS: Sat here eating tic-tacs, and have just noticed they aren't sugarfree  however, they are only 2 cals each so I'm not worrying too badlyNothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
Well I've read enough to arouse my curiosity. Interested in the online subscription, but does anyone know if there are any special offers/codes at the minute?
Bronze is £60 for 3 months - £20 per month is not very mse-ish!...
If you go for the silver option you get a years subscription to the magazine too for only £5 more!!
It's the same price as going to class with everything at your fingertips.
I think you get the first week free (not a big deal but helps a bit!?).
I had the 3 months, then signed up for a year for £140 - I like the commitment! I have lost nearly a stone, very slowly, but downwards all the way!!
Good luck whatever you decide!NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0 -

Veryvery - I saw that programme too and OH was fascinated by it - it was good because it really reinforced everything SW does!
it's got him back on the waggon even though he doesn't come to class with me.
I'm slightly concerned about all the peeps drinking excessive water - 1-2 litres is recommended daily unless doing high physical activity & sweating a lot. Excessive water can cause brain damage, kidney damage (as they have to work harder & you damage the tubey things in them), and it increases your blood volume so your heart has to work harder. Don't forget that you actually take in a lot of water from fruit & veg already. Yes it is good for you, but please be careful!
Loving Biggest Loser!
My EE day
B - mushroom omlette with baked beans
snacks - satsuma's, banana
Lunch - chicken salad
Dinner - Thai red curry (2 syns) with noodles
Snacks - 50g Pringles & Fibre Plus bar (HEb)

:eek: Cor blimey Mrs!!! you dont do stuff by halfs do you
sounds flipping nastyHope things are a bit better for you at the mo?
mmmmm getting on and off scales on crutches is a fine art hun;).......I had the home ones confiscated as I was a liability trying to use them whilst home alone:o I have my lovely friends at class that take the crutches, then help me on the scales....then let go just long enough til they register my weight - by which time I'm kind of looking rather like the leaning tower of pisa as my body is about ready to go into a big untidy heap
In fact....doing most things on crutches is a fine art :rotfl:tho its much better than on a zimmer LMAO
As for the oldsituation....... Meds are the pits aint they
I do recommend regular servings of guacamole twice a day for 4 wks......but there is a really nasty side effect - 11 lbs gain:D
Its really good that you've kept yourself focussed & coming on here while you've been out of action tho....I had a big weight gain after my last op with not being able to get to class.....and basically comfort eating if im honestEven if you manage a maintain it will be a big achievement !

Don't know how much they are if you just syn them though.I believe they are 8 syns for 2 (having a spot of bother logging onto lifeline online at the mo.....but from memory of when they had them in class before my hols this is what they said)
I'm just using them as a HEB + 2 syns when I get the choc cravings now, doubt I'll buy them again as I like normal weetabix more! But the current box will last me for a bit - I like them but like normal way more! 8 syns is a lot!sweetserendipity wrote: »Excuse me quoting my own post but I just wanted to clarify that I've only had 4 syns tonight, not 4 glasses of wine, lol!! :rotfl:

Ah I remember that programme - not looked at the link yet but that was Nicky who runs the Scouse vegan group was it? Yes I'm the resident vegan lol:) I'd say to either use spray oil or I'd try using stock - I've started using a small amount of vecon or stock to saute onions etc in - then I add spices as they infuse well (think that's the word I'm looking for?) Quinoa is so nice I eat that with tofu and chopped up vege in, but tend to eat rice with curry. Chapatti is a big no at the mo but HE wholemeal pitta would be good, I tend to do some mint dip with plain soya yoghurt and some mint sauce and use a few syns for that, but worth it with curry:)
Mmmm am fancying a curry now:rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.
