MRSMCAWBER i love the way you look at alternative days to see which works out better that is something i shall have to try and do.

Do you have the recipe/ link please for your Spanish rice with chicken + chorizo. That sounds lovely and i have a little chorizo in the fridge.

Im a sneaky wee beasty now I have got to grips with the plan :D -If I had counted it as EE then I would only have to pay for the chorizo -because I turned it to a green day I get to keep the rice and peas for free but pay 5 for the chicken and 3 for the chorizo -but then would have to "buy" 250ml semi (6 syns to replace a heA) and if I wanted say a fibre plus bar to use replace my other heB it would be 5.5 syns -if that makes sens -so really I have saved 6syns by swapping it to green :T

here is the recipe -tis scrumdiddlyumptious -well we think so ;)- hope you like it
Spanish rice with chicken and chorizo
serves 2 -although we found it to serve 3-4 tongue.gif

    preheat oven to 180c/fan160/gas 4

If serving 2 it comes to 2.5syns per serving on EE
    • 2 large chicken breasts -cut into chunks
    • 1 large red pepper -sliced
    • 56g chorizo (5syns)-cut into small chunks
    • 1 large onion -chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic-grated/crushed
    • 1.5tsp smoked paprika
    • 1/2tsp dried chilli flakes
    • approx 600ml chicken stock
    • 190g paella rice
    • frozen peas
    • lemon juice to serve
    1. drop the chorizo into a warm nonstick frying pan and heat to release the oils
    2. throw in the chicken chunks and cook until coloured
    3. add the onions and peppers and cook until softened
    4. add the paprika and chilli and cook for 1 minute
    5. add the stock, bring to a simmer
    6. throw in the rice and then transfer to an ovenproof dish/pan and bake for about 20mins -until the liquid is absorbed (add the peas after about 10mins)
    7. cover with foil and leave to sit for 5mins
    8. squeeze over the lemon juice and serve
And for those of us with a remoska -it works in there too happy036.gif..... just tip it into the pan, cover with foil (so it doesn't touch the liquid) and switch on instead of baking in the oven biggrin.gif

Wootball I drink loads of water too - Im usually about 6lts, but its something I have always done -mine has to be sparkling though...

  • Anyone know where to buy the chocolate weetabix?? I've got it into my head that I reeeaally want some after seeing them mentioned in this month's SW magazine - served with warm milk & chopped banana or raspberries *drool*. Tried Tesco today but they don't have them.

Decided to go green today so that I can have my 2 HEBs & will be using up both HEAs which I don't usually do :D
B - beans on small wholemeal toast (HEB1) with 21g light cheddar (half HEA1)
    L - 3 scanbran (3) with 3 cheese triangles (HEA2) & tomato. Dynorod soup *parp*
    D - MrsMc's cheese n potato pie (half HEA1/1 syn for olive oil), obligatory baked beans ;) & co-op wholemeal pitta (HEB2)

Doing a condensed version of the cheese n potato pie as it's only for me, probably more potato pie than cheese n potato as I'm only going to use my remaining 21g allowance of light cheddar & no parmesan, hopefully it will be enough to give me a cheesy taste at least. I don't really mind if it doesn't as I could scoff a whole plateful of plain mash anyway!! :rotfl:

Oh, and am I missing something with messedup's fudge query?? A normal size fudge (27g) is 6 syns in my book so surely funsize is less than that?? Isn't it??:o

Hope you got on ok at physio, dizzy :)

samuela, all those things you listed are syn free as far as I know, as long as the water is sugar-free.

Hi all, I had an average weekend - went about 10 syns over because of an extra g&t (or 4), but I am going syn-free today to make up for it. Very glad I switched from wine though, because if I'd had an extra 4 glasses of wine I'd have gone over by 34 syns:eek:.

    Food for today:
    B - fruit, yoghurt + oats (HEB)
L - cous cous, chicken + roasted veg
D - jacket, ff cottage cheese, spring onion, peppers, tomatoes and cucumber

    Snacks - fruit, mullerlight

Possibly a glass of skimmed milk as well to make sure I get my HEA.

Finally, my shoulder is all fixed now, so heading out for a run after work.

    Evening all

Good day food wise cos I was so busy in work I only had time to grab my lunch and no snacks! I spend the day lugging boxes and furniture etc so that's my exercise for the day.

    Green day:

B - oats (HEB), FF yog
L - HM SF celery soup
D - mexican lasagne (HEA), mashed potato, LF coleslaw (3.5syns), salad
Snacks - HB egg, jelly (0.5syns), LF creme fraiche (1.5syns), 2 x clementines
Drinks - water, coffee (HEA for skimmed milk), NAS squash, fizzy water
Exercise - 4 hours cleaning and lugging furniture! :rotfl:

    Total syns = 5.5

Still got a HEB and some syns to play with so if I'm still peckish I'll have something else.

    Well done all losers

erm ... not sure as I haven't eaten ice cream since I was about 6 when I decided I didn't like it! Depends how long you leave it in there - my 1.5 hours in the freezer gives me a centre that is cold but still gloopy, a top edge that is quite firm and smoothly frozen, the outer underneath layer is crunchy frozen and the very top is very very crunchy like ice on a pond - I eat it in sections like that (I know I'm weird but I have to get my fun somewhere :D )

See and I thought you a perfectly normal person Blackberry........I can't believe there are people who don't like ice-cream

ETA: your picture is fab, well done you. Forget the age thing, you're only a wee bit older than me and I feel 18 a lot of the time (and probably act it too) :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
