Oh I have been a very bad girl!TGI friday on Tuesday, Harvester yesterday, had a peek at the scales and I've put another 2lb on!
Back firmly on plan today, having loaded potato skins for lunch, and sausage and mash for dinner.
This week has been a bit chicken oriental for me, had some amazing news, then crashed back down to earth with some awful news, basically my Grandad is dying, he's been ill with cancer since last year, has had chemo etc and whilst the cancer is lying dormant now, his organs are packing up, he's going home on Tuesday basically to die, it's so sad, especially as we lost my Nan in September too so noone has had time to grieve.
I'm doing ok though, just worried about my Mum as she and grandad have a really close relationship, she's devestated already
I felt bad for being happy about my good news, but as Mum said, after everything that has happened to me, grandad will be so pleased that things are finally going good for me and the boys.
Basically after leaving the refuge last year the council put me in temporary accomodation and placed me in the lowest banding for a council place, then said after 18 months they will then put me up to the highest band where I have 6 months to 'bid' for a permanent property.
The flat I am in is bloody ming, have spent the whole winter with no decent heating and have had to rely on those electric blow heaters, kitchen is as useful as a choccie teapot, crap electrics etc, then a week before xmas my gaf fire got condemmed!
Anyway, went to the council the other day about housing benefit, asked them if there was progress on getting the heating sorted out, only to be told that they have put me up to the top band now a whole 10 months early because they need the flat to be empty in order to fit the new central heating :j:j:j:j:j:j I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy and excited! I was forced to give up my lovely 2 bed house and after up till now spending a year and 1 month in 2 lots of temp accomodation I am so happy to finally be getting somewhere that I can call my own once again(ok the council own it, but it's permanent for as long as I want to live there!)
Sorry, I know that has NOTHING to do with Slimming world but I thought I'd still tell ya
I am so pleased for your good news whilst sending sympathy for the sad news. Whenever I have good news and feel on the up there always seem to be something round the corner to bring me down again. I hope you get a place soon.
I am scrabbling to cling on to the tank today, have been good so far with weetabix for brekie, have pasta on go for pasta & philly for lunch. Mr T has just delivered so now have 3 melons [1 still from last week] plus a chopped up one in fridge so guess what I'll be having with my lunch. Have lots of toms to use up and some iffy onions so will add those to my pasta. Not sure about rest of day so begging someone to hang on to me and stop me falling off the wagon PLEASE.Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Oh goooood mantra, I like it!
DKAM - congrats and hugs, same for anyone else who needs it as I've only skim read.
I have finished my week of overeating at 1lb on. I'm pretty pleased with that to be honest, it felt like about 6!Consultant suggested I make a list of all the reasons I want to be slim, and another of all the reasons I don't want to diet or exercise. It was fab, and I highly recommend it!
I was a bit worried when the fat side was a bit longer than the thin one, but it ended up 1/3 to 2/3 so I'm hopefully all motivated and focussed again.
I have decided that I am having a celebrating nice food week this week, as so often I think I go all synful when I don't have much in, or don't enjoy my meals. This is my list of meals to make so far:
Macaroni cheese
BBQ sausage and bean casserole
Gammon, egg, pineapple and chips (with salad!)
Slow cooked beef casserole, possibly with dumplings, or cooked in Guiness.
Sw chips - Its been ages since I've had these, but consultant reminded the group of them last night. With Dippy EggAnd with fish & mushy peas
So I'm rather ":D" about my menu for this week. Although I'm short of really nice packed lunch ideas - anyone?
Oh, and anyone got any ideas as to what type of cooking I can use gherkins in? Got some which are a bit strong for eating raw, so was thinking I'd stick them in some cooking, if I knew what they go with.
Happy slimming everybody!Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
Had my WI today ... complete with hubby singing the Rocky music! Da da da, da da da, da da da, da da da "Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!" Cheeky beggar! Anyway ... 1 lb off
If I had been able to use yesterday's WI it would have been 1.75 lb off - never mind
I've got a couple of days off now - school hols. I definitely find it more difficult at home ... I'm only sat 3 steps away from my fridge and I'm sure the kids sausage rolls are calling me!
It's Rosie's 13th birthday on Saturday and we are going to surprise her with £100 in her card and a shopping trip to the Trafford Centre - can't wait to see her face!
Today:
B: Bacon, mushrooms and 2 sml slices wm toast (HEB)
L: Not sure, something free anyway. Maybe jacket potato and salad
T: SW quicheI haven't made one since last Saturday and I'm having withdrawals! These are so easy to make and so satisfying to eat ... nom nom nom!!
Have a good day y'all0 -
No, I would say you're making a lake out of a lamb chop
Just use beef mince.Or am i making lamb mince out of pork chops? :rotfl:Hooray for magic butchers!
OI!!!Its not my fault I'm speshial!!! :rotfl:
Re cheap fruit and veg - buy it when its on offer, buy seasonal. If you have a local fruit farm check them out, they often sell 5kg bags of "mis-shapes" apples for less. Most fruit isn't seasonal at the moment, hence is more expensive, so frozen may be cheapest.
Check out forraging websites - the hedgerows can provide an abundance of food, but February is a poor time of the year, so for maximum bulk for minimum £spend, you're best looking at the root veg at the moment and skipping the fruit all together. Come March/April time, wild nettles will have young growth which apparently makes a good soup, haven't tried that one yet though!Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

I remember ages ago someone said one of the food shops always had bargains on Quorn - think it was either Farmfoods or Iceland - can anyone remember which it was? I do love Quorn
I'm really enjoying SW and desperately want to carry on and lose all the weight I need too, but the expense is proving a problem as we don't have much money and the prices in the supermarket seems to go up every week.
Any advice would be really really helpful
I always rave on about how farmfoods are great for quorn products. sausages are £1.25 if i remember rightly, mince for £1... etc."I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and... I believe in miracles."
