Morning all. I have to agree on the calorie counting thing.....if I have syns or HEs left at the end of the day but I know I've eaten plenty of cals for the day (i have a rough idea in my head due to doing calorie counting for so long!) then I don't eat them just because SW says I should have them! I would if I was hungry but I don't if I'm not!
Success express for me today. Going to the market at lunch to stock up on fruit and stuff.
Brekkie - Banana, mixed berries, porridge (HEA&B)
Lunch - salad, tuna, sort of dyno rod soup, leftover sw chips, pineapple, yogurt, jelly (0.5) (blimey that sounds alot! mostly superfree though so doesn't keep me full for long!)
Tea - either spag bol or chilli and rice with salad or veg. The chilli or bolognese sauce will have lots of superfree in too.0 -
Just had the need to report in that I have been 'shopping' in my wardrobe - a pair of jeans that I haven't worn for over 3 years have slid on nicely thank you very much
For a change I am really looking forward to WI on SundayMags - who loves shopping0 -
6 pm

beans
Soya Lincolshire sausage from Tesco....really nice suprisingly!!!

Do you mean the Meatfree tesco lincolnshire sausages?
You do know that they are syns? (1.5 syns each )
But they are worth it - taste more 'meaty' than quorn sausages!
Just like the burgers tesco meatfree are 1 syn each and quorn are 0.5syn each - but i would much rather have the tesco ones! Better flavour!0 -

A little bit confused by SW and it's take on Lamb mince as i have just found this from the SW site
'Shepherd’s pie - add Quorn or lean lamb mince to the tomato sauce then top with mashed potato for a quick and easy Shepherd’s pie.'
No mention of it having any syn value!
Then i typed in lamb mince into the syns online and found this
Lamb, mince, less than 16% fat , 28g raw ½syn red/EE 2½syn green
Lamb, mince, more than 16% fat , 28g raw 1½syn red/EE 3½syn green
So i am confused - can i have lean lamb mince for free? Or do i have to measure & count it as syns? :think:consultant31 wrote: »Depends which plan you're using the lamb on. If you're following the Original (red) plan or EE then the mince is free. If you're following the Green plan and have used your HEBs then there is a syn value for any extra meat you have.
Hope that helps
Thanks Consultant
But which mince? Lean or Extra Lean?
Because lean (i.e. less than 16% fat) is 0.5 syns per 28g! (for EE) so that can't be 'free' can it?

Hi Savingmum,
When I started, about 2 months ago I bought an information pack off ebay for about £2, the seller e-mailed the documents and it had all the information about red, green and EE plans and also had lists of superfree foods, Healthy extras and a huge list of syn values, it was great as it gave me a lot of the information I needed to understand the pan. If you type in slimming world and sort by lowest price it should bring it up.
Hope that helped

As has been mentioned before - be really careful buying this stuff on ebay because of copyright laws. If the stuff is sent by email then presumably it was scanned in, which is illegal. If the original books are sent by post then that is not illegal (AFAIK) but probs more expensive.
If you get a "sign up for free" thing then just go to one class. For £5 you get all the books and stuff you need and get an explanation from the consultant. Its also the cheapest place to pick up food directories, magazines and cookbooks.:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. William Shatner
