My hubby tried on the Harry Potter hoodie and it fits him [hes 3XL] so theres no way its gonna look good on me. Have washed it and hope it'll shrink a bit. Hate to disappoint my sis by not wearing it, it wasn't cheap either [she left tag on :D].

You could try tumbledrying it. OH managed to accidently shrink my hoodie by about 5 sizes when he tumbledried it on hot:mad:. He's pretty "special" when it comes to laundry. I did get a new hoodie and a pair of shoes out of it tho:T.

    Congratulations ebayqueen that's a fantastic WI result ! :j

I think (re: dieting) if you find something that works for you personally then stick with it. WW used to work for me until they changed the system, 5 weeks of sticking to it 100% and only losing 0.5lb was my 'hint' to defect :D But that's not to say that it isn't working for others. We're all different and have to find a happy medium for ourselves.

I got my 1/2 stone award last night too so I'm definitely 'on the right track' now :D

    Food today (EE):

B - Banana (before gym), Bacon, Egg, 2 slices Hovis w/m (HEB), Spread (1 syn) Tom ketchup (1 syn) 1/2 grapefruit (post gym)
L - Chicken drumsticks, potato wedges, salad,
D - Meal out (Turkish) - falafel, chicken shish kebab with rice, baklava and ice cream
    Milk = HEA

Snacks - activia, small piece of birthday cake (DH birthday)
Not entirely sure how many syns that comes to so I'll have to just hope that this morning's workout will counteract some of the naughty stuff today.

  • Love catching up reading all your posts you lot are so funny :j pork turning into lamb, hoodies shrinking 5 sizes, Ive been in bulk laughing, thanks fellow slimmers :D:D

    Food today
    EE
    Brek: Usual yogurt and tangerine
Lunch: HM veg soup & chicken butty HEB
Tea: Jacket potato, beans, and salad. (has to be a quick tea as off to the theatre tonight yay)
Snack: Got half a melon to eat when I get back home for my supper. Trying to avoid syns today after the 5 vodkas last night
  • Sorry for the multiple posts, I haven't quite mastered the art of multi-quote yet! Right, I have WI today, and it is NOT going to be good. Fingers crossed for sts. Food plan for the day:

    B - fruit, yog + oats (HEB)
    L - HM lamb rogan
D - jacket, beans and salad

    Snacks - nana, kiwi, plum

Someone asked earlier about cheap fruit and veg - I'd recommend buying whatever fresh fruit is on offer. My local supermarket had punnets of kiwi and plum for £1 each so I have them for this week. For veg, try the frozen stuff where possible - inc frozen chopped peppers if they're going in a sauce like bolognase / chilli. When I have fruit for breakfast (so every day) I tend to have frozen fruit. Mr T has 500g mixed berries on 3 for £5, which will generally last me a couple of weeks (and I have them for late night snacks sometimes too). If you leave a bowl of them in the fridge overnight they defrost to the perfect temp by morning.

I'm a bit bored with the meals I've been cooking for the family - mince, spag bol, chicken, chilli - that sort of thing. Are there any of the recipe books that anyone would recommend to give me a bit more variety? (I'm doing EE)

I really like the EE cookbook. I made cod with lemon pesto and garlic mash and my flatmate cooked scallops with minted pee puree last weekend, they were both really tasty and pretty easy. My colleague reckon the new italian cookbook is pretty good, but I haven't looked yet.

Mr S also does frozen fruit 3 for £5 - the dark sweet cherries are to die for  - mix with ff from frais with a little bit of sweetener the night before, put in fridge - gorgeous brekkie! Even nice eaten frozen - just suck em! :rotfl:

BEWARE that some frozen fruit has added sugar though  - ALWAYS CHECK THE LABEL (ingredients)

  • Hello scrumtious slimmers :D
Oh I have been a very bad girl! :p TGI friday on Tuesday, Harvester yesterday, had a peek at the scales and I've put another 2lb on!
Back firmly on plan today, having loaded potato skins for lunch, and sausage and mash for dinner.

This week has been a bit chicken oriental for me, had some amazing news, then crashed back down to earth with some awful news, basically my Grandad is dying, he's been ill with cancer since last year, has had chemo etc and whilst the cancer is lying dormant now, his organs are packing up, he's going home on Tuesday basically to die, it's so sad, especially as we lost my Nan in September too so noone has had time to grieve.
I'm doing ok though, just worried about my Mum as she and grandad have a really close relationship, she's devestated already
I felt bad for being happy about my good news, but as Mum said, after everything that has happened to me, grandad will be so pleased that things are finally going good for me and the boys.

Basically after leaving the refuge last year the council put me in temporary accomodation and placed me in the lowest banding for a council place, then said after 18 months they will then put me up to the highest band where I have 6 months to 'bid' for a permanent property.
The flat I am in is bloody ming, have spent the whole winter with no decent heating and have had to rely on those electric blow heaters, kitchen is as useful as a choccie teapot, crap electrics etc, then a week before xmas my gaf fire got condemmed!
Anyway, went to the council the other day about housing benefit, asked them if there was progress on getting the heating sorted out, only to be told that they have put me up to the top band now a whole 10 months early because they need the flat to be empty in order to fit the new central heating :j:j:j:j:j:j I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy and excited! I was forced to give up my lovely 2 bed house and after up till now spending a year and 1 month in 2 lots of temp accomodation I am so happy to finally be getting somewhere that I can call my own once again :D (ok the council own it, but it's permanent for as long as I want to live there!)

Sorry, I know that has NOTHING to do with Slimming world but I thought I'd still tell ya ;)
