    Hello all,

Thanks so much ebayqueen and thevicster for your kindness. I know the plan works, I lost 3 stone in 10 months and have kept within target for two years but since Christmas (I put on 6lbs) I just don't seem to be able to get going again. I am now 11 out of target range and I feel SO low. Even a ride on Dizzy's tank doesn't fill me with excitement (sorry Dizzy).

I just think you didnt like the smell in the tank from the Dyno Rod soup:rotfl:......so how about THIS LITTLE NUMBER THAT IVE MANAGED TO FIND WITH OUTSIDE SEATS! ?? smiley-transport024.gif

Well done you!!! Have you thought about bottling your willpower and selling it from the tank? Put me down for the first bottle please x

    smiley-eatdrink058.gif

one bottle of special Dizzy willpower as requested ;)
well done Dizzy! And a hint from me: do NOT buy The Food Doctor's dry roasted soy beans (soy nuts they call 'em) because I'm afraid, tasty though they are, they will ADD to the dynorod effects. I shall have to severely limit the number I eat.

These sound like they should come with a government health warning :p where do you get those, what syns are they?
Have you got accidental damage cover for your bathroom fixtures & fittings? :rotfl::rotfl:

But that's the whole point isn't it - you couldn't eat 40 packets of savoury rice a day, and therefore you are full before you reach your daily calorific needs for maintenance. Sure, SW could tell you not to eat more then say 6 packets of savoury rice per day, but the whole point of it is psychological as well as physiological - and telling us we're limited is far more likely to result in us feeling deprived and not sticking with it, than the opposite.

I don't understand why you don't use syns for 6 days? Obviously it works very very well for you, but I'm not quite sure I follow your logic? :)

At class last night Consultant actually said they dont recommend you save up your syns and have them all in one go like that....(it came up in someones food diary from one of her other classes) its ok saving some up for a one off occasion (but then again thats what a flexi day is for)....but not going syn free for days on end. It may be ok now while someone has a lot to lose, but later down the line there is no room for manouevre within the plan..... AND of course you do risk failure as you point out, and it makes meals/cooking quite restricted.

    Morning Lovelies

Im ready and raring to go for a 100% on plan week ! my mush is back to near normal size, so I no longer look like a big old Hamstersmiley-ashamed002.gifand apart from my usual Physio appointments Ive nothing to stop me eating properly....

OOOh I do have a half day appt on monday at Leeds general - MY PRE OP ASSESMENT DATE HAS ARRIVED FOR MY MAGIC EAR smiley-excited001.gif so hopefully it wont be too long now till the op itself biggrin.gif but not getting too excited just yet, as ive then got to wait 3 months for my skull to accept the graft site before I get 'plugged in' with a processor - so that maybe possibly as late as the end of July :o

Well Im off to have a look at the ever increasing ironing pile sigh.gifI WILL get somewhere near the bottom of it this weekend (before the next 3 washer loads of drying make up the next pile mad.gif)

Im doing an EE day today....menu to follow
  • Just posting to test my new signature!

Oh, and to post a food diary. i'm going to attempt a red day mark 2 but I'm huffing and puffing once again because I'm not sure its going to be within syns today.

    hifi (b)
    Apple
    nana
    banana and custard muller
    cinamon
    2 slices corned beef (3)
Got the lamb shank in the oven for lunch (5 for gravy and parsnips) but i'm feeling confuzzled about what to have for tea tonight. I'm also s'posed to be on a night out with the girls tonight, so I can't decide whether to drive or go flexible today. Feel like I should drive and stick to free drinks, but I'm also bit under pressure to drink and stay the night at a friend's. Sticking to one or two isn't really going to be a likely option, with friends like these :o

I know dizzy's right about technically not saving up syns on a regular basis. I think what people are trying to do is fit their eating/drinking into their lifestyle because sacrificing a 'normal' way of life is what makes most people give up. So if your choice of using syns is to have a chocolate bar every evening as a treat, then fine that fits in well with syns on a daily basis. However if you prefer to have a beer or wine then I think many people (for all sorts of reasons not just SW related) would rather save them for a weekend/night out.

On the psychological thing, I think because so many people on SW have got the way they are because of lack of will power then the plan doesn't 'trust' people to make sensible choices. So totally illogical things like raw fruit free/stewed fruit synned are part of the plan because we can't be trusted not to overeat. Which brings us back neatly to why we are where we are!

Apologies to anyone who gets upset when the plan is questioned and analysed, no offence intended. Oh and my use of 'you' isn't personal, I just thinks that on a forum saying 'one chooses to have a chocolate bar in the evening' sounds like royalty! Do you think Camilla should be doing SW to slim down for the wedding?;)

    LMAO

what consultant was saying last night was its fine to save SOME of your syns up from each day for the weekend bottle of wine etc....but not to go TOTALLY syn free (to leave a few for your cooking to make sure you didnt get bored with meals etc, and could eat normal meals with out faffing about too much) ;)
  • Mmm just had this and it is scrummy! I think the recipe serves 4 as a healthy A choice each, but you might want to check the cheese quantities.

    2 cloves of garlic
    2 tins of tomatoes
    1 tsp oregano
    pinch of chilli flakes
    1/4 tsp sweetener
    basil
    3 aubegines
    170g mozzarella

Cook the garlic and herbs and sweetener down in the tinned tomatoes in til reduced. slice aubegines thinly and griddle until just cooked. layer all ingredients in a baking dish finishing with a layer of cheese, and cook at 200 degrees for 1/2 hr.

Apparently its best left until the next day but I changed quantities as I only have me and one eggplant, and its all gone now so I can't verify that! ;)

It was a bit thinner than I would normally do gravy but with the mash it didn't matter. I'd certainly recommend it. Mmmm!
You can use a sprinkling of Smash as a thickener if you like really thick gravy ... or just take out the liver when it's cooked and cook the juice down a little more - or cook everything in the mike like wot I do then you need hardly any liquid anyway :D

Quick question (not slimming world related) I found a little bird (looks like a turtle dove) sitting at the base of one of my trees in the garden this morning. Alert but wasn't moving so I tried to get closer and it seemed to hop away but tried to fly. I couldn't see any apparent injuries but it's a very small bird - could it be a fledgling? I have no idea on these things but wouldn't want to see it suffering if it's in trouble. Or upset it if it's trying to learn to fly ! :o I thought it's a bit early in the year for babies !
It's way too early for baby birds yet, though I notice with envy that the courting has begun ;) - perhaps the cold had got to it (did anyone hear the radio prog the other day about why we rarely actually see the bodies of the birds that die every day from natural causes? I only heard a bit so didn't hear the reason!)

I got 'em from the Co-op and counted them as syn free on EE and green (checked website) tho I guess they would be called abuse of free foods if one ate too many. They are soya beans, dry roasted. On the internet there's a number of ways of doing it yourself rather than paying Co-op prices
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
