Could someone confirm that muller vanilla are 2 syns each? I saw it in the SW magazine, always though those ones were free ! Good job I've got some syns left if so !

Ignore me, it's vanilla with chocolate and black cherry under layer - I didn't read it properly :o

OMG?? are those 2 sins each??? haha ... i thought they were free?! x

Dizzy, I thought that HEAs & HEBs didn't have syns if they were correctly measured? :( Only the original flavour appears on the online Healthy extra list. Is it because it's the flavoured one that your consultant has added the 1.5 syns?

yes - its the same for the weetabix choc, they are a HEB plus 2 syns for 2 weetabix

they still have the same fibre content so are still a HEB but you have to account for the syns.;)

she has had this confirmed by head office x

That's great Dizzy - I like the raisin & cranberry flavour for a change but I didn't realise that I could use it as a HEB for a couple of syns! :T

Hi, glad you had a great time, do you mind me asking which hotel you stayed at cos I am trying to decide where to go and it's always better to have recommendations. Thanks x

Hi confused 57. Last year my DH and I stayed at the Iberostar Quetsal next to its sister hotel Iberostar Toucan on the Yucatan Peninusla (sp) about a hour away from Cancoon. These hotels are 5 star all inclusive and the facilities were enjoyed by both residents. The rooms were spotless, sheets and towels changed every day. The food was the best all inclusive fayre I have ever tasted. The alcoholic drinks were international brands (not the usual local brew).

I stayed at a Tunisian hotel several years ago knocking back G & T's.
Stopped counting after 10 drinks with no ill effects (I could have driven home iykwim)!!!

The beaches were very clean, and watched over daily by good looking surf dudes/security guys.

I will definately go back in 2011.

    Hope this helps

Right, I've created a SW recipe thread for everyone to post recipes!! Please share!

We definitely need a dyno-rod soup recipe, Mrs M some of your slowcooker recipes would be great too!

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3032236

What a brilliant idea Lil_Me, it's worth it just to redirect allcomers asking about dynorod soup!

DIZZY - Would you mind telling me which hotel you went to? I can then google all the possibilities and decide where to go. We are going with friends so it will be a joint decision! Thanks x

    no probs ;)

Weve stayed at 5 different hotels in the same(ish) area and all have been really good but for different reasons. All have had great food though :p

viva wyndham maya - playacar, smaller hotel with the option of using the sister hotels facilities (2 hotels down, a lot bigger & more going on) this was better for me after my 1st Op when I really wasnt very mobile.....good location for getting into nearby playa del carmen 20 min walk on the beach or a $5 taxi fare

Hotel Catalonia - peurto adventuros this is a little further down and where they have the marina & dolphin place. The hotel was lovely but the sea was a little rocky in places as you were getting in (with the coral reef) great for snorkelling tho

Hotel catalonia Royal Tulum - we upgraded to this hotel from the one above, OMG I just cant describe how amazing this place was!!!! it really was like pure luxury, the only problem is there isnt an english tour company that books to here....you have to book flights & hotel separate (do take a look tho)

Rui palace playacar - Weve stayed a a couple of rui hotels before, and not been disappointed, they seem to pay attention to small detail which 'makes your holiday'..... It looks very grand when you see it from the outside & its exactly the same inside.good service (but then again I really cant say weve never had good service in any of the hotels in mexico)

Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal This is a really big hotel set in a sort of big jungle type setting, its where weve just been, there are all sorts of lovely animals roaming around and the whole place is kept very clean. Do book with thomson tho and NOT thomas cook.....you will be placed in the Tucan side then which has been recently updated and is a little more 'plush' the rooms on the Quetzal side are a little dated. If you are looking for a lot of nightlife tho, this really isnt the hotel to be at :o it has a couple of bars & a Disco with the usual hotel entertainment.....but its really more geared round a totally chilled lazy holiday. BUT its so easy to jump in a cab $5 dollar to del carmen to find the nightlife if thats what you are wanting.....personally by the time I'd finished sunbathing, swimming, walking round the grounds or listening to the band playing while they cooked paella on the beach & eating the free icecream I was ready for a bit more guacamole a few cocktails and bed :rotfl:the one downside to this place was there was no open air evening beach bar....which I found strange for a hotel this size??

If you're wanting something a little more relaxed/quieter playacar is lovely.

Playa del carmen definately has a lot more going on outside of the hotels....but you can get to it very easily either walking or by taxi from playacar if you dont want to be in the thick of it.

Cancun is obviously where to go if you want to have loads of nightlife and clubs.

Do take plenty of $1 or small denomination peso notes with you for the hotel staff tho..... they work mainly for tips, and you will be suprised at how much they appreciate (and remember) the tip you give them ;) we had a young girl who used to make sure we had our bubba kegs (thermos things we take with us) filled ALL the time just by giving her a tip here and there....she even woke me up once to make me drink some water as my OH had gone diving and I had been sleeping a while (how lovely was that!)

Thank you Primmer and Ali, I have just looked at the pounds shed by Primmer and yes I feel much better now, I am holding out for a bigger loss next week.
I will try and have more sins each day, I kind of find it hard to find syns to eat. My meals again today have no syns, so I might have a creme egg tonight cos they are one thing that keeps catching my eye in shops :) I also might use some syns up each day with a glass of wine, cos I do miss alcohol, I am just so hooked on this diet and trying to do everything so good, the guilt of having anything bad has been stopping me :)
    Thank you all once again.
PS How do I put my weight loss at the bottom of my posts??

    xx
I was like that, but last week I ate loads, used up syns and lost 3lb, good luck hun.

Hi everyone. I rejoined SW last week as I am needing to start eating healthier and get to a healthy weight. My Mum died just before xmas and after that Ive just been eating anything and everything.

I feel back on track now though. Thanks to this board and the one on FB Ive got some good ideas for meals. Have made a pot of Dyno Rod soup today. How long will it keep in the fridge? I was naughty at lunchtime and had a sausage roll though. Breakfast was scrambled egg and mushrooms on 2 small slices of wholemeal. Tommorow Im making the Diet coke chicken.

My only worry is I have lunch in the restaraunt at work. They always have a curry on so tend to have that with a small portion of rice. Thats 3 days a week.

Oh and Im trying to drink more water too.
Sorry about your loss hun xx
Is there nothing else they have except or curry? no jacket tatties? is there nowehre to heat up meals that you bring in, or could you maybe make pack lunches up?
without knowing the syns of the curry, even a smal portion could knock you over your syns for 3 days a week and could hinder your losses x
