OK hope Elizabeth David is out of copyright from 1954 ;)
Can be made with any shape of pasta or noodles.
Cook your pasta in the usual way, strain it and put it into a heated dish. Have ready 4 oz (for 4 people) of ham, bacon, or coppa cut into short matchstick lengths and fried gently (in butter! let's say frylight or nowt!). When it is cooked add 2 beaten eggs and stir as you would for scrambled eggs - pouring the mixture onto the cooked pasta just as the eggs are beginning to thicken. Give it all a good stir so the bacon & eggs are evenly distributed, add grated parmesan and EAT!!!!!

Personally, in all the years I've made this since i first saw the recipe, I have cooked the bacon, tipped it onto the hot pasta and THEN added the raw eggs and stirred them in - they cook enough with the heat of the pasta and still remain creamy. Oh, and I've always cooked garlic with the bacon but I am a garlic freak!

Thanks for that blackberry-rum, when I've had it in France they serve it with a raw egg (in half a shell) on top for you to stir in at the table.

Allisont, I've tried the legere (?) pizzas before SW. They are very tasty, they have a hole in the middle (like a big polo) filled with salad. But I think by the time you add the syns for the base, cheese and dressing it would be quite high.

Lil_Me, thanks for the boulangere potato recipe. I'll try that as I'm really missing dauphinoise. I keep meaning to try it with fromage frais.

Went to my WI tonight (day early as I'm busy tomorrow). I lost 1.5lbs which takes me to exactly 2st gone!

Well I took the plunge, went and got weighed last night (weight as I expected it to be :o).

Feeling very positive, the plan has changed loads since I did it last (about 10 years ago now !) - just goes to show how long I've struggled with my weight .

Determined this time to lose it and keep it off, done this too many times now and I need a plan for life, not just a quick fix.

    I'm doing EE today:

B - 28g porridge (HEB) with milk (HEA), 1 ryvita original (part of HEB), banana and pear
L - Chicken and sweetcorn pasta (mixed with a tbsp of light mayonnaise - 3 syns) with side salad
D - Salmon, jacket potato (with flora extra light - 1 syn), brocolli, carrots, cauliflower, peas

Snacks - not sure yet, need to check my books !

If I've done anything wrong, feel free to kick me up the bum :D

ok here's the deal, your soon to be husband loves you, else he wouldn't be marrying you,so who are you losing weight for? yourself? if thats the case then stop eating stuff that made you fat in the first place,i was in this trough and spoke to my hubby about it,he said he loved me and would rather me happy than 'obsessing' about food and being neurotic about a biscuit! i'm guessing your husband to be will say the same thing if you are brave enough ;) to ask :p

now biscuits and cake is SOOOOOOO fantastic,i love them, but i hate my upper arms, and my t1ts and my sagging belly,so i'm trying to lose the fat that makes me unhappy, but i REALLY wanted pie and chips for tea tonight,so i shall start tomorrow,Day 1
    :D
Come with me,lets start tomorrow with Day 1,you won't fall into SW straight away,i PROMISE you the plan works, just relax with it and if you WANT those biscuits MORE than you want to lose weight, then eat them, its ONLY food:D:D

Take hugs,i'll wipe my greasy face in your hair (i haven't got hair i suffer from alopecia,it could be worse i could be fat too....oh yeah) and tomorrow is a new day xxxx :D:D:D:D:D

Room for another one, I need help getting back on the waggon :o

Right WI for me this evening, I'm not going to fret, what's done is done. I will take my gain on the chin and use it to motivate me to a better week next week

I did go on the Wii Fit last night and according to that I have lost 2lbs, so I went on to do 40 minutes of jogging and stepping. I have made the effort and started to get back into it, and I was good and didn't graze, I just played on my Wii and had an early night.

I would like to thank you all, I think you're all great:T there have been some really encouraging posts that have spurred me on, I'm sure it helps others who may just be lurking.

I hope everyone enjoys their day, I will post later to report the damge.

Morning all. Hope all poorlies are feeling better today. I'm not, have rung in sick to work so I'm joining you from the comfort of my sofa in my jamas and dressing gown!! I always feel dead guilty ringing in sick but it doesn't happen often! Haven't eaten anything yet despite having been awake since 6am....I must be ill!!

Not going to bother writing a food plan as I'm not sure what I'll have for lunch and we're meant to be at OH's mum's for tea. I might get him to bring mine back with him if I don't feel well enough to go myself later!
