Does any one know how choosing a final target works? I think i would like to lose a few more lbs, but not sure how far I want to go, also the last few weeks I have upped my gym sesions and I am toning up now the muscles have got a chance to now the wobbly bits are gone.

    Congratulations! Wonderful weight loss :)

In terms of target my real target is 9st. I have set my target however at 9st 7lb. Once you reach target you have a 3lb grace either way without having to pay.

Once I get below 9st 4lb they will give me a week to get back to within 3lb of my "target". At this point I can change my target down to 9st (you have to change it by 7lb). It means I can have a little breather whilst I'm at my upper target without having a financial penalty.

It should also save me money! I really can't afford to keep paying to go anymore, so I plan on weighing with shoes on to keep within "target" and I'll take a holiday week and weigh with light clothes on to get down to my bottom target. I can then put on 3lb but still not have to pay.

Dizzy - sounds like you had he same experience of Belgium that we did! It rained and everything was closed! We had a bomb scare and couldn't get onto their metro so had to walk to the hotel in the rain. Chocolate was good though :rotfl:

  • Thank you for the reply, I have just joined up on the online Slimming world :)

I havent spent enough time looking I guess, and I am tired, so I think before I judge I need a nights sleep, but from having a quick browse, boy does this look hard!! At one point, I thought omg what have I got myself into...

There are a few things I find contradicting, the one that sticks in my mind is bisto gravy, I couldnt find it listed anywhere so I searched it on the sins online and it said 1 sin, but then when I looked up other meals with gravy it said 0 sins. For instance it gives you an alternative meal to sausage and mash, and the alternative it gives specifies the sin free sausage or quorn sausage, mash potato and bisto gravy as a free food, so is bisto a sin or not?? Does anyone know, cos I love my bisto, i'm like the bisto kid :)

I am sorry for the waffling, I still haven't had chance to read everyones posts, but I will get around to it at the weekend and hopefully pick up some tips along the way.

Apologies now, but I think I'll be bending everyones ear over the next coming few weeks with things, I am just so confused but its not hard to confuse me :rotfl:

Thank you all again, and well done to you all for sticking with this and losing so much weight, I do hope it happens to me soon xxx

thanks , I have been going to the gym so might explain it slightly.

woke up this morning and I am so dizzy I cant leave the house and am finding it difficult moving room to room. Think is my hormones causing this, cos I seem to have a pattern of it.

Peachyest , I had some weetabix last night to try to move things along and all it has given me is wind so far :o. (sorry TMI) :rotfl:.
:rotfl::rotfl:Well i been a little thats it and still have bad wind :embarasse:shocked:.
So yesterday iv'e gone back onto the red plan as i think that suits me better , and i'm gonna do E/E at weekends and see if that works .
Got the fibre plus bars today at tesco , can someone tell me how many syn and can i have 1 as a h/b , thank you

    Hi all,

I havent been around for a while, this thread moves so quickly and work has been so manic that I havent had time to post or read what you're all up to.

Hi to all the newbies, and well done to those that have lost or STS, for anyone that has had a gain, keep on going. There are so many factors that effect weight loss, on the Biggest Loser last night Gillian said that being stressed out can make you put on weight  Now call me silly but I would of thought it would have the opposite effect!

Anyway my meal plan for today is
    B - Fibre plus (b) apple, satsuma.
L - mug shot with poached salmon, watercress cherry toms and cucumber
    D - j potato, cheese (a) sweetcorn, spring onions and prawns.Options (2) blueberries and f/f yog.

It is my Birthday on Friday so I'm limiting the syns until then I will be 30, and I know its going to be a messy one.

Does anyone on here regually order Joe's sausages? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure these are the ones recommended by SW and are fairly low syn. I really miss sausages, but am bit of a snob and Morrisons just don't cut it :rotfl:

I was going to suggest placing an order at my group tomorrow night, does anyone have any experience of them??

    Hope everyone eljoys their day
Someone on my facebook does this for her group, she takes orders, gets them delivered to her house then takes it all to group x
I think alot of SWers use Joes.

Hi everyone, thanks to the person who told me where to post :), I posted on an old thread earlier :(

How do I keep finding this thread, or do I have to search for it everytime? I am new to this site so I'm a bit lost...

I am wanting to join up with slimming world online, is anyone else on here just an online member, or is everyone joined up with classes? I just wondered if online is any good? I have never done slimming world before so I have absolutely no idea on how it works, I have read the info on the site and I am so confused with the red/green days extra easy and food optimising. Do you combine all ways, or have certain days doing certain diets, I am so baffled :(

Any help is appreciated, and I look forward to sitting and reading more on the thread and getting to know everyone xxx
I am an online member, class is not really an option with my lively 21 month old in tow! (tried it last week!) I have done the plan before so knew what the deal was before joining up, I could do it alone but I like using the online food diary, syns online and syns calculator so for me it's worth the £20 a month, oh and I get the magazine delivered too.
If you can, get the books, then its easier to 'study' the plan so to speak.
The plan is great once you get going, and is easily picked up in no time xx

Hi Susie - I always count my bisto as syns - 2 tsp = 2 syns. You will find that 15 syns is quite a lot so its a good choice if you are having quorn mince ;)

Pick a colour and see what foods are allowable and plan your menu from there. I find it easier to write my menus each day so I can see what I am doing and what we are eating.

Good luck. Its not so bad once you get your head round it all ;)

I must say, for chips and any other 'dry' roasting food I couldn't do without a Quickachips.

    http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/101276992/Quickachips_Mesh_Oven_Tray.html

Well worth the price, great piece of kit.

I looked at one of these in Morrisons yesterday, but wasn't sure if they worked... wish I'd bought one now. Morrisons also have a lot of their baking goods on sale, so I bought a non-stick swiss roll tin for £2 (they had various roasting tins etc. on sale) and a few of the clip seal plastic tubs for storing soup & left overs (freezer, dishwasher & microwave friendly too) for about £1.50 a tub.

Thankyou :) Curries are a favourite , we eat a lot of chicken also things like stir frys and rice dishes everybody enjoys. And we all like fish as well but dont eat an awful lot of it. I'd also like to encourage them to eat Quorn, I eat a lot of it myself as I enjoy it but nobody else seems keen lol

    Thanks for the reply

B44, it would be expensive for all the family to join, at £4.95 each a week, but if only one of you were to join, you'd get the benefit of all the info, books, support, access to the online site, which gives you all the info you need re. syns, recipes, etc. I have a large family to feed, and have found switching over what I eat to accommodate the whole family not difficult at all.

The biggest challenge was to learn what tweaks I needed to make to my ingredients (something I'm still working on), and not relying on pre-packaged/processed foods, which I was keen to do anyway. I still use the pre-packed stuff for convenient snacks to keep in the cupboards as back-up though - I'd not be without my Pasta n Sauce/Mugshots snacks.

The Extra Easy plan is very easy to get into straight away, without really having to think too hard about it, or adapt your foods too much. Basically make 1/3 of each main meal fruit or vegetables (veg has less natural sugar, so less calories, which makes it aid weightloss), and the theory behind this is that 1/3 of your plate is going to be made up of healthy, low calorie, high fibre, filling food... some veg uses up more calories to chew/digest than they actually contain in energy value.
During each day you have one allowance of dairy -Healthy Extra A [HEA] (eg. 250ml semi-skimmed milk or 42g low fat cheese, etc), and one allowance of fibre - Healthy Extra B [HEB] (eg. 2 x alpen light bars, 28g porridge/all bran/weetabix, etc).
The minor tweaks you make are to buy only extra lean meat, remove all fats before cooking, use spray oils, replace sugar with sweetener, leave butter out of your mash, etc.

You can easily cook an ordinary cottage pie from low-fat mince, add lots of veg like swede, carrots, onions, mushrooms, celery, make mash without butter, and just a splash of milk from your daily allowance, or even a splash of stock, cook in the normal way. Gravy is only a couple of syns for a desert spoon of granules made up.

I've added quorn pieces to chicken pasta bakes, and quorn mince to bolognese before now, and none of the rest of the family have spotted it. Mixed in with the the 'real thing' it can go undetected, and once they've eaten it happily, they can never say they don't like it, can they? ;)

Look at the website or buy the latest magazine for recipe ideas, and if you read this thread you'll get a good idea from people's daily food plans what they're eating. That helped me enormously when I started the plan last November, because I could see what others were eating, which also gives me inspiration. Recipes are regularly posted on here by members, and I copy and paste those onto a document on my PC, which I save on my desktop to refer back to regularly.

I lived there for 2 years. I've never known a wetter place, and mosquitos all year round! I recall someone once saying to me that Belgium was somewhere you should only visit when enroute to somewhere far more interesting! Such a shame about the trip though, and naughty Mr Dizzy not looking after you properly. 705_angry_smiley_hitting_his_friend.gif
