With EE you need to have a third of your plate being superfree, at the moment your evening meal doesn't have any. Add in some salad or veg and you're all set!

Ah right I was going to do that anyways forgot to mention it, it sounds so easy but maybe i am just a bit thick hey!
Do you think I should have something different for dinner then or what????

    thanks

    Hi Everyone,

Im a newbie to this website and possibly Slimming World too.
Are you all slimming world members? My friend has shown me her SW books and has shown me what to do. Do I need to join a club in your opinions? I don’t think im too keen in going and also parting with the money, however this is a new year and a new start and im determined to shift some weight.

    Any advice would be great.

    Lois x

I'm a member. You don't need the group to follow the plan, but what you do get at group is a collection of like minded individuals and all their advice. You get to see people making changes and no matter how inspring people in this thread are it's always worthwhile seeing the changes in someone week by week. Your consultant will be open to suggestions and opinion, and is able to help out of merely offer a listening ear if you want to rant. Ours is excellent - she texts us regularly and we all have her number if we need her, any time day or night. Sh'es great, and her openness yeilds far better results than harshess or disappointment. She's very clear with the 'only you can make the difference, but I am here to find out if you still want it' route and it lets people know that it ain't easy but is possible.

My main piece of advice for you is this:

If it's important to you, don't half-!!! it.
Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

    Hi Sam
I think you're doing ok, I often used to eat more than 1 jacket spud in a day. I did/do mostly green days which is mostly carbs with veg /fruit as extras and I'm at target. As long as you have your superfrees [more than 1/3 if you can manage it] and your HEs you should do fine.
    Good luck hun x x
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Afternoon all,

I've decided this morning that I will be taking this one day at a time, if i have to think i'll be "good" all week then i make myself rebel.. self sabotage is a booger! So i was on track yesterday.. lets see how today goes!

    .

One day at a time is the best way to look at it hun........after all there is a great saying I always remember when facing any challenge - you cant eat an elephant in one go! you have to do it bit by bit ;) x x
Hi Lois and welcome to the thread! :)

Most people on this thread are members. But, I'm not. My friend let me borrow her books and i have done it on my own with this thread for guidance (its like having your own personal group!)

If i was more financially stable i would join my local group as I think its better to do this than to go alone (you're less likely to fall off the wagon IMO) BUT having said that if you are disiplined enough and plan properly you can lose weight following SW at home :)

Best of luck! Please stick around as the info/help/support/inspiration on this thread is amazing :)

Im a member & do enjoy my meetings and get loads of info from them, but like Pixie says this site & its members are fab for keeping you on the straight & narrow & dishing out the moral support or butt kickings where needed lol
(HI PIXIE :D:D by the way.....long time no speak x x)

    Shredded Wheat with hot milk?
    Omlette with ham/cheese/mushrooms
Bacon & eggs, mushrooms & tomato
Can you stand to eat Ready Brek, as it's a different texture to porridge? I love porridge but can't stand it, so you might be the reverse.

If you're doing Extra Easy you've still got to sneak some fruit or superfrees in there somewhere, that's the only thing.

Its a fact that on the whole, people who are members and go to groups regularly are more successful with their weight loss. You get a weekly top-up of motivation, and the boost from the scales in class showing a loss is impossible to replace at home, IMHO ;)

However, if you really can't afford to go to class regularly, we (that is, the members of this thread) tend to always have the same advice: go to a class, join and stay through the first class, and don't return if you don't want to. It'll cost you a tenner, you will then have all the books you need, and you will have had time with a consultant going through and explaining the plans properly.

If I'm honest I have done SW on and off over the years, by myself with the help of these kind people here and going to classes - and I have always lost more and done it for longer when going to classes. Personally I think a fiver a week is sometimes quite hard for me to find, but in spending it I am committing myself to losing weight in a way which I don't do if I'm doing it at home.

quick question - Can I just show up at a meeting or do I need to contact the group consultant first?? Not sure what the protocol is.... thanks

Just turn up. Make sure you go early enough too, as they often use the first 1/2 hour to explain the plan to new members. Expect January meetings to be hectic, but the classes won't take as long in february and the rest of the year, when the half-hearted types have given up ;)
