  • Well my menu for today did go ever so slightly pear-shaped as suspected!!

I found the chocolate weetabix in the co-op & had to try them immediately so had 2 with chopped banana & raspberries & cold milk for my lunch - sooooooo yummy & just what I needed :D

Ended up having the dynorod & scanbran etc for my dinner instead. I blended the soup for a change & I actually think I prefer it like that so will do it each day until it's finally gone!! Definitely need a break from it methinks, the house is starting to smell stale :o:rotfl:

So, I've had my 2 HEBs & one HEA (can't believe how much skimmed milk you can have as a HEA - had just under half with my weetabix). Syns = 5 so far - I'll have a fibre plus for another 5.5 for supper.

Thanks for the green tea info everyone :) I love the idea of jasmine or grapefruit, they sound lovely. I remembered I had some free samples from ages ago (2 lemon, 1 mint & 1 plain) so I'm going to try them tomorrow, never thought to add sweetener :doh:so glad you mentioned that dizzy ;)

Oooooh sounds like a good plan to me :T I lurrrrve baileys, they did a coctail on holiday called 'THE BBC' banana, baileys & coconut.....to die for :o

    Cor!! *drooooooollllllllllllllllllllll*....... :p
It really doesn't matter whether you choose to have 10 syns a day or 70 syns a week - what matters is that you count them properly and don't save them all for a binge on one night......if you want a blow-out, it's better to have a (rare) Flexi day.

Coolio - that's m'plan. I try to stick to 10-12 but some day I have 18 and others I only have 3 so my plan is that mid way through the week I add up the running total then work out approx how many I can allow myself per day for the rest of the week in order to hit a grand weekly total of 70. I am such a number-crunching geek!!!

I think i should stick with my old scales:eek:

Just opened my new ones and weighed myself at 10st 6:eek: Though that was fully clothed with shoes too and i usually weigh myself first thing in the morning nekkid before i hop in the shower. So will do that tomorrow. Was 10st 1 this morning apparently on my dodgy old ones.

  • Any know the syns in Glorious skinny Soups? They are from Asda, fresh soup in plastic tub? My colleague had the New England Butternut Squash one today and I tried a spoonful and it was so delish! I normally make my own soups but this could be a good 'emergency' lunch on the days I CBA'd to take something!

There is a shed load of veg in it, the only 'bad' food in the ingredients is oil, butter and cornflour

    TIA

  • Just weighed myself. Quite pleased considering I've been trying to stay on plan but having it scuppered or just losing the waggon on a very regular basis - looks like in the 10 days/2 weeks or so since I last weighed myself I have either lost 1lb or STS - chuffed with that either way, given that I'm pretty immobile at the moment. :j < just realised that's an inappropriate smiley! :rotfl:

My new DVD has arrived. Exercises for the wheelchair bound  thought it was appropriate ;)

Evening guys. I had a whole long post typed out mid-morning, then my phone went and it was a friend asking if she could pop in because she was 5 mins away. Didn't hit post reply, and then my laptop restarted itself while sat on the table beside me when we were chatting. Lost the lovely long post I'd done... well, I say it was lovely, who knows what you lot would have thought to it!

What I did mention in it was that I heard a nutritionist on Radio 4 last year say that you don't just have to drink water to get the required fluids into your body each day, so long as they're not alcohol/high sugar/high caffeine, then any fluids are acceptable, provided your body gets to take on board what it needs. I struggle to drink cold drinks, apart from on very hot days in the summer. I don't like sugary squash, and can't drink fizzy drinks without hiccupping after every sip, and I don't even like alcohol. However, I do like my cups of tea, and an occasional cup of coffee. I discovered that my strong cups of tea had the equivalent amount of caffeine in them as a filter coffee, so switched to decaffeinated, and was already on decaf coffee whenever I had any. I didn't suffer with bad headaches or anything, and I must have an average of 8 cups a day (large mugs full... so about 4+ litres). I also looked into fruit teas, and green teas, and when doing some research online, discovered that green tea contains as much caffeine in it as a strong cup of tea, or an average cup of coffee. The problem with caffeine of course is that it messes with our nervous/cardiac/respiriatory systems, acts as a diuretic to increase the amount of urine we expel, triggers insulin peaks, and can create cravings for eating sugary/carb foods, which I really wanted to avoid. It's now one of the banned substances for athletes because of the stimulant effects. So I would suggest that if you get green tea, ensure it's a decaf version, to get the healthy benefits. The best benefit I've had from going onto decaf is that I now sleep more soundly, and don't struggle to fall asleep anymore, and there has been no difference in taste either.

Yesterday was a flexi day for me. BF and I had a day out shopping, and we ate in KFC. My meal there came to a total of 27 syns, which I thought wasn't too bad really, considering that 10 of them went on the fries. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was a planned treat, so I was happy to use up a couple of day's syns that way.

Today's meal plan : Extra Easy

B - banana, apricot, Weetabix Oaty bar [HeB]
L - small bowl of leftover cottage pie (the swede in it has a trumpetting effect!), ketchup (1 syn)
D - 4 WW sausages (2 syns), mash, peas, broccoli, carrots, gravy (2 syns)
snack - Muller cheesecake yogurt (1 syn)
    HeA - 250ml milk
Not a bad damage limitation day of 5 syns

It's the 1st time we've tried the WW sausages, and they were tasty enough, although for the same syn value the Morrisons ones are larger, and just as tasty. BF and youngest son had Mr T's heathy choice bangers, and both liked them too. Thankfully my OH is very keen to eat low fat meals too, even though he hasn't a worry in the world with his weight/physique, but I guess it's his natural want to eat healthily that has helped him be that way.

No Wii today, because my friend came round for most of the day, but she's worth it, and having a day off exercise might not be such a bad thing, as I'm making great progress in the gym at the moment, and most importantly enjoying it again. I'll be back in there tomorrow.

Well done with the losses everyone, and commiserations if you're not so happy with a maintain/gain this week. Dust yourself down, don't contemplate comfort eating, and get back into the plan with added gusto. If you had a 100% plan last week, then it's going to catch up with you and reward you next week anyway, so don't undermine that. If you think you could have done better, then do so. You have that control within your grasp.

MrsM - the trek looks amazing, I'm truly envious, and ever-so-slightly scared on your behalf! It really will be the trip of a lifetime. How lucky are you?

    Evenin' all

Well, today has been surprisingly saintly....

B - 2x Alpen Light (HEB) and a WW Yogurt

L - cous cous with roast peppers, onion and tomatoes, summer fruits (frozen), grapes, muller light

D - Chilli (stuffed with superfrees) and jacket spud

    No syns and no snacks

HEA is on milk in teas and coffees

May keep syns free or low as got busy weekend and may need them to "pay" for bits and bobs (like wine!!:rotfl::rotfl:)

I have a pair of weight watchers scales that show your weight and can also calculate your bmi and I find them reliable.
Remember though that you need to weigh yourself at the same time if day and whilst wearing similar weight clothes for your reading to be accurate.

I swear by always weighing yourself first thing in a morning just after you've got up and been to the loo :) never weigh myself any other time of day.
