:wave:Happy New Year :hello:
Well, here we are again at the beginning of a brand new year and with lots of new year's resolutions spurring us on.

Food Optimising is a plan for life, it is not a quick fix and you should look at weight losses over a period of time. There are no prizes for speed of weight loss
You need to commit to making changes to what you are doing, because what you have been doing in the past and what you are doing at the moment is not getting you to where you want to be.

You cannot use parts of the plan that suit you and forget the rest. If you are not prepared to make a commitment to change the behaviour that has got you into your current situation then nothing is going to change, and above all things, you need to be honest and accountable for every single mouthful of food that passes your lips.

You need to care enough to take time out to pre-plan your slimming campaign. Look again at the menu plans and see the variety and volume of food you can eat. All you have to lose is the weight.
Slimming World has been successfully helping people lose weight for over forty years, so trust them and read your Food Optimising and Choose Success books again and again.

Food Optimising is easy but life isn't. Losing weight is a battle but you have the battle plan in your food optimising book, your secret weapon is free food, and that, together with your healthy extras and syns add up to a healthy way of eating that can be a life plan. Success is there waiting for you………go for it!

I think it's probably a good idea to put the following at the very beginning of the new thread so it's easy to find for anyone who needs it:-

The Original and Green plans are still going strong but most people may well have heard of the new Extra Easy plan which is sweeping through the land :) If you've ever wondered if it works, I promise you it does. If you've ever wondered how it works, just trust the experts at SW, they wouldn't send you on the wrong path.

If you fancy having a go at it, here are the official 'rules' to ensure that you not only lose weight regularly but get all the nutrition your body needs to function well:-

Extra Easy:

1: Choose your Free Food

Anything that’s Free Food on Green OR Original – so that’s pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, poultry, fish and all the Superfree food – is totally Free on Extra Easy! Yes, you can eat unlimited meat, potatoes and veg, fish, chips and mushy peas, and chicken curry and rice with no measuring, no weighing, no counting – no kidding!
And for super-fast, super healthy results, fill one third of your plate with Superfree Food!

2: Choose your Healthy Extras

Each day select one Healthy Extra ‘a’ choice and one Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice from our simplified list of calcium and fibre-filled foods, including milk, cheese, bread and cereal.

3: Enjoy 5-15 Syns each day

And if the Syn values for Green and Original foods are different on the standard Syns lists, count the lower one!

If you find your weight loss has slowed down or stopped, check………

1. Whether everything you're counting as Free, is Free

2. Whether you're under-estimating Syn values (over-estimate if guessing)

3. Whether you're counting everything that should be counted

4. Whether you're measuring everything that should be measured

5. Whether you're sabotaging your success in any other way (using SAS logs will help uncover individual long-term self-sabotage patterns) and, if none of these is the culprit, either...........

A: increase the proportion of Superfree Foods to half of your plate

OR

B: switch to more Speed Foods

And above all, if you follow the plan, any plan, 100% you will lose weight!

  • hurrah a new thread, thanks consultant :)

here's my last post right from the end of the last thread (to save it getting lost)

Today so far has had 28g oats HeB with blueberries and banana and some of my 350ml skim milk HeA

Have got some left over roast veg in the fridge and HM turkey burgers so think I'll be having that for lunch, and chicken wrapped in bacon with celaric chips and HM coleslaw (cabbage, onion, carrot, FF fromage frais and seasoning)

fruit and FF yogurt for snacks :)

For dinner ended up having chicken stir fry (cooked with frylite) carrots, mushrooms, peppers, mange tut (query spelling) with a v small portion of brown egg fried rice (cooked in fry lite)

In the days I used to do SW we'd call that a purple day! (I'm going back 11 years when I joined at 17 and we only had red/green days) Gonna have to get me some books to refresh my memory and learn about EE me thinks. Did buy the mag today and plan to read from cover to cover tonight

  • I'm laughing at Sliming World -sorry :p:p:p !!!

who was it asked in the last thread whether to go for eating only free stuff but eating a lot, or for trying to eat less. I'd go for eating lots and lots of free and (especially) superfree - there will come a time when you can't stuff anything else in, honest! Things that are difficult to eat are good too, raw vegetables rather than grapes, for instance. Each mouthful takes a bit more chewing.

On that subject, I recently discovered that some people only buy broccoli with a short stalk rather than "pay for things they throw away" but ... but ... but... that's the BEST bit! I get the longest stalk I can, and the fattest. It's the first part I eat, raw. Just take off a couple of mm from the outside and you are left with a white, crunchy, peppery stalk to crunch through :D

Happy New Year to all, and thanks to Consultant for the slimy, I mean shiny, new thread!!!
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Thanks so much Consultant! Thank you for all your advice last year and just for being there to answer all our queries.

I've lost half a stone on EE (but it's taken a couple of months) but would like to lose another stone at least. I plan to continue with EE for a while yet because I actually feel very well and it really IS easy!!

I've bought the new little SW EE book and that's great value for money. Our house is just about emptied from all the extra Xmas goodies people bring along so I plan to get my book out and get my backside into gear again.

Thanks again, I really appreciate you being here and all the best to you and yours for 2011.:T

    Woo-woo a nice shiney new thread...thanks consultant31 :T

Blackberryrum -Im with you I go for the broccoli with the biggest trunk too -I love it raw and the cog out of cabage cauli too ....
I also like them stir-fried too, but today I have turned them into some soup ...
The veggie cheese pasta bake thing went down a storm and hubby has requested it to go on the "must do again list" :j

It is so blinkin cold here today -I haven't stuck my snout outside yet today, Im going to be making a pan of corned beef hash tomorrow ready for monday onwards -hubby loves it so will have it for several lunches no doubt. For some reason I seem to have gone off it (at one time I could have lived on it) - I find my tastes are constantly changing -very strange indeed... I would happily fight ove a bowl of porridge with bananas n berries though nomnomnom :rotfl:

Weigh in for me in the morning so it will be interesting to see if the hours of trudging through the snow has helped at all ??? although I enjoyed it so much I don't care :p
Don't we have the lovely DizzyK back with us soon? :j
Right I will get off again... have a lovely evening all....
