I wish I had the cooking from scratch magic to make tasty enough soups and things, it would help me and kids with eating more veg. Do you freeze the potato salad? Whats in it?
Glad you had a nice break, mine was eventful to say the least but we had a few good days. I dont think I have walked so far in one week. The kids did well. It tired them out anyway and the sea air was refreshing.
Good luck with the flat, hope you get a quick sale x
I am the same as you with the job, I would love to work nearer home but I know my job is secure and they are really helpful with my kids situationMPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Hey Pammy
read your post about your holiday- certainly sounds eventful !! glad you got some sea air and walking in , in between the hiccups along the way! the job stuff is a tough one as there are benefits in looking elsewhere but at the same time I get a bit twitchy about job and financial security in this climate...so we shall see! throw childcare into the mix for you and Im sure it must be hard to weigh up ..
re: the cooking. I dont freeze the potato salad but you probably could cook potatoes then freeze to defrost when you want to make it. Just boil up the potatos I add peas as well you can add any other veg like carrots or onions if ya like. Then let it cool and add mayo - job done! soups likewise are easy just fry an onion , boil up some veg- carrots, peas a potato if you wanna bulk it out a bit. Add a couple of tins of tomato and about a mug full of stock or boiling water simmer for a bit then pulse with a blender when cooled! - instant veggie soup and very cheap! am taking some to work today in my attempt to be healthy as my weight seems to be going up rather than down at the minute!
still....mrtyo has promised it is shred night when I get home from work....eek!!...0 -
 Run away don't go home to the Shred (I keep nearly typing Shrek so I'll apologise in advance in case you think I'm calling you a green ogre
)
Does the 6lb in July end next Monday as obvious I'm going to lose it all this week :rotfl:Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Luckily motorway closed so took me 2 hrs to get home!- by which time mrtyo had taken pity on me and said we can do the shred tomorrow!
hmmm...yes re the 6lb challenge I may need to draw a line under the last few weeks and start again!! 6lb still to lose ....*shhhhh*... am almost contemplating wasting more money and joining some kind of "thin club" to kick my a**e into gear!... seem to be going in circles in the wrong direction at the minute!
still once Ive done it and got kick started I have a wardrobe full of clothes to look forward to without having to go shopping I guess :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for the soup tip. I will give it a go and see if the kids like it. I am sure if I tempt them with crusty bread they might try it. Do you freeze the soup? I take it that it freezes ok and can be just put back in the microwave?MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Thanks Cath
We have a viewing later so keeping fingers and toes crossed! feels nice to know someone is at least interested in looking!
Did the shred last night.....OMG I hurt this morning!! was hard work but amazing feeling too (I remember what they say now about endorphin high after exercising!) For any shred junkies out there is the idea you actually do it 30 days in a row (I dont think Id survive it!!) or like 3 times a week?
I think I might need at least a day of rest in between so I can manage to walk and lift things again! :rotfl:
Payday too - hurrah!! am back in credit on all fronts, holiday paid off and £111 in another savings account for either an OP or solicitors when I need to get sorted with selling!!
will update with MF total in a few days0 -
Yeah a viewing, fingers crossed for you
When it sells I will be sooooooooooooooooooo jealous

Yay for viewing - hope it goes well!
And mwah-hah-hah (that is my attempt at deep sinister laugh!) at joining the shred cult! I think you are meant to do it daily, I did once manage to do 5 days in a row but even 3 times a week made a difference.
You have just inspired me to go and do some exercise (but just an easy video, I am WAY too tired for gillian tonight, we might get into a row or something!)Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89
