Happy sunday all!!
Small MF achievements £30 in cash found in purse/handbag which I forgot so will bank this tomorrow!
Foraged some goodies after a trip to family
Flat almost ready to go on the market!
Still checking tcb for payout due a few days ago!
Next step for me is getting back healthy and in shape!! ...My goal by the end of july is to lose 6lb- am gonna break it down slowly rather than look at the whole lot at once! Enough healthy food in , just need to stay away from the biscuits....;)
Budgeting for next month should be on track within the next couple of weeks - gosh Im so sad, especially given that I dont even much like maths!0 -
Ooh, have you got an asking price in mind? Here's hoping for a quick and easy sale.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Think I will join you in the 6lb in July challenge. I'll weigh myself in the morning
Exciting about the flat being nearly ready, have you some money saved to pay for solicitors fee's
Think I might just have a look through all my coat pockets see if anything useful is lurkingMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
ISA challenge start 2019 £3000/£1500 (50%)0 -
Hey mw
Yep got an asking price in mind and also the lowest price Id like/be willing to take!! EA valued at more than I bought it for and would cover the work we have done and fees etc.. so that would be best case scenario! just have to wait and see I guess as someone has gotta want to buy it!
Radish- yep it is exciting! and muchos credit for mrtyo! (if he is reading this...;)) Yep should have enough for solicitors plus have an 0% c/c if needed. EA fees not out till after the sale so it would just be £400ish I think for the solicitors..
Most of the "found" money was in my purse that Id taken out on payday and forgotten about- am thinking putting it back into bank can then use it for holiday and not spend it on rubbish during lunch hours (as per usual)
Okay radish-youre on for the 6lb challenge- weigh day it is tomorrow then!! my fridge at least is full of healthy fruit, salad and some other more yummy stuff which I shall add to it!
Have just productively been "window shopping" on amazon for a few "wants". Planning to use my monthly "fun" spends to buy at least one payday present for myself (mostly under £20 apart from a couple of boxsets which I may have to save a bit more!) . I find it hard sometimes to justify spending money on myself when I think it should be going elsewhere , of course I do end up spending the money but it tends to be on "rubbish" like food/drink/magazines rather than "big" stuff (if that makes sense??) so this is my new plan! After all even if it is a "want" rather than a need , if I spend £20 on coffee/chocolate or £20 on dvds or makeup neither is any more "worthy" ! (plus stopping the chocolate/coffee may help the 6lb challenge too!)0 -
Scales this morning
Weight is 12.6lbs so weirdly works out quite well, -2lb=lost 2 stone, -4lb=30lb total loss which is 50%, -6lb = 12 stone actuallyMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
ISA challenge start 2019 £3000/£1500 (50%)0 -
Morning Radish

Still 2lb off since saturday (after a week of eating loads) so should be pleased already!!:D
Goal for end of July 9st 13lb (and will be a bonus if I do more!)

Hi TYO,
Great progress. Good luck with the flat sale and the weight loss challenge! Very well done on the shopping budget. If I could keep us down to £200 a month, I'd be delighted - hasn't happened yet though! How are Mr TYO's great money making ventures coming!?
Cheers,
BillyMortgage Free: 28/10/2010Time / Interest Saved: 18.5 years / £61,866.500 -
Hey Billy
Thanks for the well wishes!
I shall let mrtyo reply re: his money making ventures, though he deserves much of the credit for work on the flat so I shall also give him that!
re: the shopping- well you asked, so I shall give you a condensed version/list! :rotfl:
For example This week...
Breakfasts: Cereal (99p for a supermarket own big box) with fruit/bananas including milk total: £2.50
Pancakes (bought on use by date and frozen 7p for 8!) total 7p
Toast with butter/peanut butter/jam (2 loaves of bread in freezer 20p and 30p respectively bought on use by date- dont always manage such bargains!) total £1 (to include jam etc)
Total for week £3.57
Lunches- 2 x 12 pack of value rolls (taste fine just slightly smaller/mishapen so you may need 2!) 35p each
with tuna mayo (bought when £3 for 4 tins )
ham (2 packs for £3 more expensive but would last 2 people the week)
Cheese (again 2 for £3 lasts a month if stretched)
Salad - value lettuces about 40p and cucumber 80p
Plus: fruit (apples 80p a bag for 6ish value ones)
Crisps (going through a few "free" packs from the grabbit boards, £shops great for cheaper branded crisps £1 for 7-10 packs depending on what kinds u get)
Biscuits ( value choc digestives 30p a pack and taste fine!)/Cereal Bars (99p for 6)
Total £12
Dinners:
So far this week
1 roast chicken (ready done as lazy this week) £4.40
With £1 pack of indian samosas/bajis
80p jar of salsa
Cheese
Salad
1 pack tortillas (bought with a voucher making them 29p!)
2 freezer suprises from freezer (stew and chilli both batch cooked)
1 pizza (1.50 ) plus value garlic bread (37p) and salad
Has done:
Chicken curry with indian side bits!- 1 night
Chicken Fajitas 2 nights - add a value pack of tortilla crisps (on offer 3 for 50p the other day-only salted ones or could make nachos topping with salsa and cheese in the oven)
Chilli and rice (from freezer)-1 night
Stew (from freezer) and jacket potato-1 night
Pizza , garlic bread salad- 1 night
Pasta bake (9p value pasta 33p tin of tomatos, tinned tuna, cheese, sweetcorn)
Deserts: Cake- I do like a bit of cake(hence the weight loss plan! :rotfl:) do homemake things at times but other time can buy a ready made sponge cheapish
Yogurts- value 4 pack is about 29p and taste fine
Biscuits (see above)
Fruit
Total - including deserts £13 ish
I do feed mrtyo proper food too like deserts !
so if I add that up.... comes to about a total of £28 p/wk for 2 of us (thats at a rough guess) ...youd want to vary it of course but its possible!
ps a year ago I wouldnt have even really known how to roast a chicken , let alone take the meat off the bones to use for the next day or so! My freezer was full of "stuff and chips" all of which was expensive and I would just eat big portions/throw away any leftovers of big soups/chillis etc.. so it can be done!0 -
The real reason the bills are so cheap is because i dont really get fed!
seriously though in keeping with the more recent threads I have been\am working around 14-15hr shifts at the moment, not really eating breakfast so i find not only am i saving money but im losing weight aswell! Not meaning to make you all jealous but I reckon ive already done my 6lb challenge! Also a certain person bought healthy snacks, i thought i might break out of my cupboard and liberate a packet of cheesepuffs, i wish i didnt, they arnt nice (maybe thats the point to stop you eating though!)
Now to more important things my money making ventures havent ventured much further than paper yet! Ive been beaten and whipped to finish someone elses flat (who shall remain nameless lest i get beaten more) so sadly havent had time to progress them further. The more ive studied im 99% sure soap isnt the way to go, candles seem easier but not sure the effort to reward is going to be that good! Once youknowwhose flat is finished i should be able to scheme more!
However on a money making scheme i have just opened my own halifax account (the ones that pay you £5) so with that and our own joint one we are making £10 each month to overpay mortgage simply by S.O some cash around the different accounts, TYO just needs to set up her own one and then thats and extra £15 a month OP for doing nothing.0 -
Mrtyo
First off
1) you are not allowed to lose 6lb before me- you dont need to, plus it will make me very VERY jealous!!
2) there is cereal in the cupboard I shall put it out for you to take to work!
3) I did, I believe , warn you about those crisps and the reason they make you lose weight is because they are truly inedible!!proper crisps are in the cupboard!
4) No beating happened in getting you to work hard .... my painting skills spoke for themselves! :rotfl:
5)ps...onto the halifax account - its on my todo list!
In other news manic week at work this week or at least for the next 2 days and feel like am coming down with man flu (very serious you know!) so a push to keep going till the weekend!....I shall then be helping mrtyo finish off the flat and hopefully our weekends of hard work *ahem* shall be over!
Counting the sleeps till holiday too and hoping expenses and tcb money come through in time to spend there! yay!
On the subject of work spose I better get off there, hope evryone is well!
ps radish I may have sucummbed to a choc ice last nite, you may have to kick me up the backside on this 6lb challenge! :rotfl:0
