Morning all
Am so glad its Friday!!
Payday yesterday and all moneys accounted for - this has been expensive few months with most extra moneys going on redecorating and bathroom and hen do's and weddings (4 in total!) One more present to buy today and then that should be done...possibly an extra couple of hundred quid needed to do the last of the flooring/carpeting in order to get the flat on the market too!
So just when I thought I was breathing a sigh of relief (and would have some extra money) both our cars seem to go kaput! mine cut out twice yesterday on the way home (as if you'd changed up a gear too fast and then it just stopped) managed to limp it home but dont have time to get it looked at as am off for the weekend in an hour or so (hoping itll get me to where I need to go!) ....
Also spent just over £100 on new clothes due to going up a size or so and feeling uncomfortable and huge in all my othersAm planning on this being temporary and the clothes are all nice and most (save 2 pairs of trousers) should fit okay even when I go down to my usual size again!
One of those weeks I think where everything feels it is going in the wrong direction- weight up , outgoings up, savings down, car backwards :rotfl: etc...
Still - the fact we have savings at the end of all this is I guess proof of how well we have done in cutting back and being much more sensible with money so I need to stay focused on what we have achieved rather than the fact we wont have our mortgage paid off in the next year or 2! (not that we every would have but think I get carried away with the success stories on here sometimes! )
At least all is set for holiday - time off booked, holiday savings intact , now just need to pick where to go!0 -
Oh what a naughty car, just give it a good telling off
I have clothes ranging from size 20 to size 12 and it annoys what a waste of money this is, but currently hovering between 16/18 on the bottom
Enjoy your holiday I have 3 hours left at work then a week off, with 4 days in the Lakes
And having savings left after some expensive months, shows you how far you have come :TMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Thanks Radish
Hope you enjoy your holiday- never been to the lakes but sounds lovely
Car given a good talking to (and some mrtyo magic!) and fingers crossed it is okay ...
Radish- I hear ya on the clothes! .... I have things from a 10-14 and seem to yo yo up and down (more on the up end right now!) feeling miserable about it and not particularly productive!
Weekend away spends consisted of:
dinner desert and round of drinks £20,
petrol £10
lunch and snacks £7.50
clothes (good charity shop bargains!) £10
bottle of wine £5
room for the night £81
present £20
*fingers crossed* all the big expenses are accounted for now ....
pay also went up this month so an extra £25 to throw into the OP pot!
Just watching a dvd box set borrowed from a friend and drinking tea to stave off my slightly sore head!:rotfl:

Burgers sounds good, make sure you use breadcrumbs & egg yolks to bind them, I also add chilli falkes & mustard in mine, if not its quite bland..
You could also use the mince to make lasagna or shepperds pie or meatballs..
