  • Thanks twinklie for the motivation! :rotfl:
Unfortunately even the thought of calorie burning didnt do it! ;) but will be up early and at it tomorrow methinks!...funny though as am usually annoyingly ocd about cleaning at home!!....:rotfl:
Twinklie- sounds like hard work keeping 2 places going between you with DH being away most of the week , Im not surprised the last thing you guys feel like doing on weekends is DIY/decorating!! could you start a room at a time? maybe break it down to feel more manageable? I know you said you will probably move when DH is all done with his Phd anyway....

Pammy- yep its the cleaning that takes the time, though I too have started at a half painted wall in dismay wondering what gave me the thought it was a "good idea" to start it!!

Am working on a day on /day off prinicple this weekend!
Still -once I have sold this one the house we buy I intend to stay in forever!! :)
may have been having a little look on rightmove....lots of nice houses in nice areas but best to get this one finished and sold first methinks! seems like things are picking up slightly, certainly lots of peeps on here talking about selling and moving anyway!!
  • Evening all
Back to work this week after a couple of days off over the bank holidays - well and truly feel in holiday mode even after a brief time away so long may it continue! ;)
Hoping to attack the decorating this week and have a fair bit done by the weekend at least ready to paint (which will be the smallest job of the lot!) Bathroom due to be finished by Friday so thatll be lovely too!
Managed to sort some money out earlier and only bills and spending in current account rest in seperate/different bank so I cant keep "borrowing" from savings if I fancy a bit of extra spending! Hoping this will keep the savings up and spending down. Also upped the OPs to £215 p/m
Did a load of cooking for the week ahead- roasted a chicken for sandwiches and dinner for the next couple of nights -still amazed how much meat you can get off it! Dinner was leftovers out of freezer and just eating the last easter egg (and then Im sticking into my diet- honestly! ;) )
May need a couple of bits of clothes and some new shoes for the summer but will probably be a next payday treat..
need to double check cars MOT and fingers crossed not too expensive.....(famous last words!)

Cheapish week ahead followed by girly weekend (already paid/budgeted for) do really need to get onto this diet thing as dont want to feel like a heffalump in all my summer clothes - motivation, advice, kick up the backside anyone?!
  • Well- bit the bullet and joined weight watchers online through tcb! So essentially should end up almost free!
Figured there is nothing like spending (wasting??) money to motivate me to stop eating junk food and do more exercise!!
Think having a lot of changes lately coming up (good ones mostly!) have been a bit stressful and reaching for the biscuit tin/easter eggs! Plus realising summer is round the corner meaning no more jumpers to hide under! Ill keep ya posted on the progress (sure you all cant wait! ;) :rotfl:)

Good Luck with WW, hope you keep motivated.
I have a seperate ac for savings but its so easy for me to just transfer it back over. Luckily I have never felt the need other than to top up an OP that needs just that little bit more to take it over an amount lol.
Its so good and simple having online ac, I dont think I would do OPs as much as I do if it werent for that!
    MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

MF new target Dec 16 REACHED!! :j
  • Thanks Pammy!
Its the mindless snacking that needs to stop! I do know how to eat healthy the rest of the time but hoping paying for the privilege will give me a good old kick up the behind to get motivated! ;)
Youre right online banking definitely makes things simpler!

Keep thinking its Monday today - thank goodness for a shorter week! Off to work to pay the mortgage!
  • Good news...
Car passed MOT yay! first time in years it hasnt cost me a bomb! a couple of things needing doing but can wait till payday this month or next...
WW is interesting- have been tracking what I eat on thier online thingy and it is certainly an eye opener!! not sure I am doing very well or well enough to lose wt as nowhere near sticking to the points! (still at least explains why my up till now efforts have proved fruitless in losing even 1lb!)
Only 13lb to go so not too despondent but I think I like food too much!!

Need to up the exercise as the main thing and walked 40 mins or so today to drop off and pick car up from garage! every little helps...

Busy weekend and still need to check progress of decorating (ie do some!) All monies out for this month and lots to pay for so have about £4.15 left over to spend on anything else.... only 2 1/2 weeks till payday tho thank goodness! May try and hunt out anything to go on amazon though not sure there is much left...

Managed to turn all the leftover veg and things in fridge into dinner which fed us tonight and will also do tomorrow (if not saturday if we arent bored of it by then!) Was in a real "cant be bothered to cook lets just order something" mood so see this as progress in the right , general MF direction ;)

Mainly itching to get the decorating done and finished and house on market as it feels like every day I dont do something its losing/costing money ...I dont think I have the patience for a grand design project you know! I think Id be a nervous wreck by the end of it!

Yep car passing MOT is big relief for another year- tho will need to spend some money at least on it before then but *hopefully* can do that at my leisure...

Have used amazon in the past to sell professional/uni books and a few dvds with quite a bit of success - the things I have left now are a few paperbacks, couple of cds and dvds may list them to see if its worth it but contemplating doing a car boot instead as I have a few more bits which could go more easily there!...

Upped my OPs from next month to £215 a month as will have paid for all work on house by then!

No other money making schemes up my sleeve! other than going to work of course! ;)

Managed 2 nights out plus dinner this weekend with vouchers and mininal cash spend so thats good I think!
Counting the days till payday now as very little left for the rest of this month due to lots of expensive things happening (like 2 sets of friends getting married!)

Thank God its only 2 1/2 weeks till payday!...

Grocery shopping for the month currently £130 seeing if I can roughly keep it there with just top ups for fruit/bread/milk.....

Have a great sunday all :)

    Hey TYO

Great progress here, well done.. I see you keep increasing your OP's!! You will have your mortgage paid off in no time at this rate..
Think you might get more for your books at car boot than Amazon, just because of postage costs..
Does not cost you anything to list the cd & dvd's on Amazon and still take them with you at the next car boot..

Glad the car passed the MOT.. Now you have time on your hands to find the cheapest place for any work required on it..

Keep going, you are an inspiration to many..;)

  • Mornin Froggy :)
Thanks will see what cds etc would go for as its better than nothing eh!
Will be glad when next payday comes around and am a bit more solvent again ...
Been keeping a spending diary so at least I know where the money is going but it only seems to be going out at the mo!

WW bit of a disaster last week and have gone 1lb in the wrong direction! having said that by using thier tracking tool thing I can at least see why! ;) Am feeling motivated this morning as a new week just need to figure out thier system a bit more....Also gonna download a running podcast thing (thats free) to see if thatll kick start some exercise (it starts at complete beginners apparently)

Lots of changes potentially coming up which could be positive mostly but will be glad when its all sorted tbh! I dont do uncertainty/being in limbo well (maybe thats next on my things to learn list!)

Right- off for the start of a new week have a good monday all :)
