would be much better if a simple tag could be devised to add to the title then BG's could alter the title if need be without bumping the thread

maybe something like (QM) in the title (abbreviation for question mark)

Maybe we could not bump.If the OP can edit that will be great but if not add as the comps are posted.From now seems a good start time with no great need to act retrospectively.Just my opinion of course :-)

Well that would work just wouldn't like to see every comp with a ? mark in the title being bumped as there could be quite a few old threads with question marks attached and if every comp with a ? mark was bumped it would cause havoc on the boards

I do appreciate that the posting of guessedenddate will be a little sloppy & poor English but Maybe it will be easier to search on as it is so idiosyncratic.Searching via it will not pull anything else up.

I'd agree Amilucky,hence my thoughts on not acting retrospectively.Maybe today can be zero day & work from now with no bumping but just OP editing.

Hi Everyone

Sorry to barge in!! I don't really know where to ask this question, so I'm hoping someone can help me on here, (sorry if it's the wrong place )

I'm thinking of creating a new facebook and Twitter account just for Comps.
I need to create a new e mial address first. I need advice on wether to do Hotmail or Yahoo etc... any ideas which ones are best? My home email is BTinternet.

I prefer Gmail personally.I use it with an account name that is different to my name on here & in the real world ,as it were.
It can be set so all your BT mail goes there as well.

Just need to clarify that guessedenddate has no spaces and can be anywhere in the thread. I totally agree that threads started before today should not be bumped just for this, but of course the OP can edit without causing a bump if they desire. I would guess that there are a few regular posters of these comps who won't have seen this, but if they can be brought onboard we should soon have the majority of future comps covered.

I think idea 2 would be better than 1 solely because the work is shared out. I post comps for all those sites used in the example and I would just incorporate "guessedenddate" into the template I use so it would actually be no extra work at all.

I hope that you didn't think that I was poo pooing your idea yesterday One-Eye I think that it's a fantastic idea and will be greatly beneficial to everyone that does there comps by end date I just didn't want to see people starting to bump post's to add the tag as people will think that it's OK to bump post's and it would cause mayhem on the boards and a lot of very old comps would be bumped

I will implement the tag in all my future post's with an unknown end date

and I will today at some point seek out all of my post's with a ? in the titles and add the guessedenddate tag to the bodies of my post's

Oooops I have done it wrong already. Give me a task, and I'll make a pig's ear of it - FACT In my defence, I am a touch typist and my brain tells me automatically that guessed end date has spaces The thumb (which operates the space bar) works on autopilot. Ho hum. I will have to c&p it and stick it in
