just wondering for the comps which still remain on the regulars board that have a regular weekly end date like Sony Ericsson, Begleys, Chelsea FC, Tissot Watches etc would it be ok to post the comps on the main board like the above but keep the actual comp link on the Regulars board

Do you mean one post updated weekly on main and linked in the sticky, or a new post posted each week on main?

Personally I don't care where it's posted, I'll adapt (comp by first posted and end date perhaps?)
Would rather it was one post regularly updated but that's just me.
My main problem with the new post each week thing is that it depends on someone remembering to post every week (worry that once it's forgotten once it may fall off the radar?). At least if it's the former the link can stay on the sticky so these type won't be forgotten, no matter where they get posted/end up?

i suggested (in the sony erricson thread discussion) that if that was done then the post on main links the regular thread and the op of the post on main adds a link to their post in the regular thread so that people can easily check there thanks form both places and/or also thank the other so they dont enter twice :) also so that gilla is not expected to change the link every single week as that would mean a lot more work than adding one thread that runs for a few weeks or months :)

I mean keeping the weekly thread in Regulars and updating the answer on a weekly basis on the regulars board

and posting an updated link to the regs on a weekly basis on the main board like this
E: 31/01 Win a Robinsons Sweat Shirt & Coca Cola key ring

Posted as a weekly in Regulars
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...4&postcount=10

    please check your thanks ;)
the actual comp link remains on the Regulars board and you have to follow the link to the regulars board to enter the comp and check your thanks

Update: should have said that nothing really changes on regs so there's no extra work for Gilla it's just the weekly updated link on the main board to regs that changes all the links to the stickies would still be the same

    hope this makes sense :)

    lol I totally misread/misunderstood then, sorry :)
That would work fine for me, would avoid me duping. So you've got one vote. Think it's the people who only use main that you'd need to convince, they may not like the extra clicks etc.
  • i see what you mean amilucky :) would work for me to prevent dupes :)
extra clicks and extra searches as would need to search regs before posting on main to check if there is a thread in regs already or we would end up with the same problem as we currently ahve when its posted in both :undecided

Excuse my inexperience here I'm sure this is a stupid question BUT if you search the url from the main board search doesn't it show comps in Regulars up too?
If yes then so long as old regulars are in GO then if the url is showing up on either board after a search that should mean it's already posted and same rules as usual should apply (ie don't dupe)
And maybe then people could do what Amilucky? suggests if someone wants it on the main board too and others agree that will work?

Really hope MSEAndrea ties up all the loose ends soon. Worry that we're coming to some kind of agreement (again) and people are suggesting "easy" fixes to make it as good as possible for the everyone and it will all be for nothing :(

it would mean extra clicks but a lot of people on the main board would maybe get to enter a comp that they would normally miss out on entering and the people who post the updated comps in regs would get the thanks they deserve ;)

you wouldn't need to do extra searches in regs as when you do a normal search the child forums are selected by default and would show up in the search results

yes so long as you search including child forums :) if you only search main board it doesnt show anything in regs or go :O buttt my seach ability is rubbish anyway so i could be wrong in my thinking regards the above

im sure glad said yesterday in here that she would keep track of what the issues are and what people suggest and then let andrea know everything at once (unless i was dreaming whihc is not impossible rotfl ) so would probably include any agreement we have come to if we ask her to :)
