Hi, can anyone help me ,at the start of this month there was a competition posted for eastmidlands airport you had to have a Booking Reference to enter (not sure but i think you had to email it in and it was for a cash prize ).I now have a booking reference but can't find the competition,could anyone help me find it .Thanks

I do hope I am posting this in the correct place - I rarely post here - if it needs to go somewhere else please let me know.

As most of you know for the last week or so there has been security issues with the Great British Life Website that some of us have experienced. I know some of you have already emailed them to try and resolve this.

Today I received a generic newsletter via email and clicked on a link to enter a competition - it took me straight into another person's profile - which I was able to view personal information from.

I emailed GBL and told them the issue in the meantime you may wish to consider ammending your profile to take out sensitive /private information eg your address. I replaced my details with witheld do to site probs.

This is all rather worrying that our information can be accessed like this.

If I hear back from them (GBL) I will post their response.

There's a humungous fine for companies who don't keep people's data safe (just had training at work) which can even lead to imprisonment for management if they don't get their house in order.

Hi just an update on the Great British Life thread I started above. I have now heard back from them and this is what the email said :

"I have been speaking with our IT team, and we believe that this problem has been caused by the website caching.

To resolve this issue, we have now turned off our web cache for the Great British Life websites. We will be monitoring this carefully over the weekend.



I will try and post a reply in the MSE forum in a moment, and will check back on this over the weekend.

If you are still having issues on Monday, please don’t hesitate in getting back in touch with me.



We take all customer queries very seriously, and aim to resolve them as quickly as possible, and this issue is our priority at the moment

Please accept my apologies in this issue, and I hope you will still enjoy entering competitions on the Great British Life websites,
