Andrea has asked people to pm her, with a link to a post explaining it, of any problems with the new guidelines
or I'm quite happy to read through the issues here and make a list for her (I'd post the list first before sending)
issues at the moment seem to be
1. should daily entry comps be posted in one thread, or separately every day?
(personally I think one thread would be better, due to more people missing out if they are separate threads and also more chance of dupe threads if 2 people or more post it on one day, maybe if the OP included 'this is linked in the dailies sticky HERE' end daters finding these late who don't use the sticky would then go look at it and use itI know there will always be a few comps that don't fit exactly but I think this will suit the majority including the BGs who do the moving/merging)
2. no one wants comps duplicated as a separate thread on regsI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Many thanks Glad for explaining the issues to Andrea :T:T:T
I really must pay more attention to end dates, have been looking for haggis all day long and found none!
didn't realise that it was GAME OVER on the 25th :rotfl:0 -

well I'll leave it while in case anyone else sees a problem or wants to discuss what I've posted above then send it in one message
no solution is going to please everyone on here so it's a case of 'if it works for the majority, can I live with it?'I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Isn't the problem happening because people are confused?
At the moment, some are posting comps in the regulars board rather than simply posting a link in the sticky at the top of regs, after they've posted the comp as a new thread on main, in line with the poll results.
I'm guessing / hoping this won't be such an issue now some comps are being returned to the main board, and the "tricky" comps are being cleared up.Wins - Crisp 'n' Dry cookbook, Headlice treatment :rotfl:Mascara, Garden games, Model's own make-up, Thomas puzzles Mystery classic car prize...

another point
the comps in regs now have varying titles 'MONTHLY' 'WEEKLY' 'DAILY' and 'ONGOING'
would it help if I went through the ones with ONGOING as the title and changed them to 'MONTHLY' 'WEEKLY' or 'DAILY' as it's obvious now that they're all ongoingI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. that's because it seems from the new gb uidelines that's ok
and one of the points I said I'd ask Andrea about (see my post above)I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I am so confused about all of this. I have been comping on here for a few years now and it all seemed to work fine, I just used the main board and ignored the regular board. I have ventured into the regulars now that all this has happened because I was worried I was missing out on some good comps - and I was! I thought MSE Andrea's sticky seemed fair - well the first point did anyway. I do agree that the polls closed way too quickly.
I think the people who maintain the regulars board/stickies should make the decision on how it should work as it's them who have to maintain it. Wasn't it working just fine before all this started??

I think that's a very good idea Glad and would be very helpful to everyone
Really must pay more attention didn't even realise that you had moved all of the comps with end dates off the regulars board (been far too busy comping)
many thanks for the above and your ongoing hard work it is very much appreciated :T:T:T:beer:0 -

ill repeat myself, ive even bolded in case anyone doesnt want to read all the waffle
which is exactly what was causing the issue before .....SOME comps were being posted and the thread updated regularly while OTHERS were being posted as a new comp every day (or week or month as appropriate) based on what the op wanted to do with them rather than on anything else. this is what led to things being posted on both boards and thus led to dupes which is why those of us who enter regular comps and/or by end date were so unhappy with how things worked.
see these threads as examples of the varying opinions...they have all caused confusion in the past week.

ive been trying to come up with some way to keep everyone happy with dailies....posting them everyday does not work for anyone except those who enter comps by newly posted threads. if todays argos eg is posted thios morning as E:27/01 then people who enter by end next day, so today are entering E:28/01 miss it. if its posted with end date of E:28 to avoid that then people who enter by E27 today miss it as wont find it until tomorrow. its not soley comps moving to game over early that makes end date compers miss them.0
