Not quite. The same things that are now trying to be straightened out needed straightening out before....just less people used and/or knew about regulars
It's been a horrid month but I think we're nearly there and can get back to normal soon (fingers crossed anyway :rotfl:)

I've been using subscriptions a lot to help with the daily etc ones, and using and removing thanks to keep track. I think I thought everything was working fine because I only used the main board so it didn't affect me.
I hope it all gets worked out for everyone. I had a rubbish comping year last year so I'm hoping everything will be hunky dory this year ;-) Normal sounds good beffffff. The boards do seem a bit more stressed at the moment - peace would be lovely :-)

I'm glad this comp was asked about as I've been looking for cartons saying competition, and re-reading the comp I realise that just normal ones are required.

For example - Yes, the Classic FM South Africa comp can be entered every day BUT there is a different question/answer and prize holiday each day
To my (simple) mind, for comps like this, it's less confusing for everyone to post them separately


Similarly, the other Classic FM comp which we think is weekly - this wasn't clear when the comp originally started as Classic had the wrong dates on the comp page.
These are different questions/answers and different prizes every week.
Again, I think these should be posted separately for clarity.

PCL made a comment on the South Africa comp that they had missed some of the days as it wasn't in Regulars and they don't generally get out of Regulars.
I'm the opposite - I hardly ever have time to go through the Regulars, so I'd have missed it if it was posted in there.
As many people have pointed out, we're not going to get a solution that suits everyone, but if it's down to people who post more getting their way, then I'm going to make sure my point of view is represented.

I'm not working at the moment, so can generally keep up with the new comps each day and have a Word doc where I keep my own list of daily comps that I want to enter because I'm interested in the prize they are giving away.
However, if we make it a rule that even comps where the prizes change have to be merged, I'll have to check every daily comp every day to see what the prize is, but if it's posted separately I can quickly skip over it on the main list of comps, as it's easier to skim down a list of comps rather than have to go through a list of daily comps to see what today's prize is for each one

Just my opinion....

I'm afraid that this is the exact opposite to my way of thinking I think that the Classic FM South Africa comps should have been posted thus

E: 28/01 (daily) Win the trip of a lifetime to South Africa x5

with one link posted to the daily stickies instead of separate links having to be posted and amended everyday

each day's prize and answer could have then been posted into the same thread

and to me it doesn't really matter that the prize and the answer changes on a daily basis so long as it is updated in the thread what does matter to me is that the comp gains as much exposure as possible so that everyone benefits from the post

even comps that have different prizes everyday but have a limited time spell for me could be posted E: 25/01 (daily) Various Prizes (Classic FM) etc

you know people on the regulars board have made concessions towards us on the main board it is time that we returned the favour

about dailies.....if things are being posted every day i will not be replacing links every day. sorry to anyone (else) who misses out because a comp is moved to game over on the morning of the day it supposedly ends, or because they dont make it anywhere that day other than dailies but i dont have the time to swap that many links every single day.

I know that we haven't always been singing of the same hymn sheet but I have to agree with her and I don't blame her for saying the above

it's time to move on and forget our differences and make things easier for everyone involved and if that means making a slight concession in how we post the comps on the main board then so be it!

enough of the argy bargy bickering and in fighting lets put this matter to bed once and for all and get back to what we do best comping! :)

since it was brought up earlier as well i wanted to point that out. perhaps i should have come and made that clear in public at the time, sorry for not doing so and thus leaving people to assume we hadnt sorted our differences.
