May I remind everyone that MSE Andrea has said
This is a board for helping people out with competitions, something that's supposed to be fun, not serious. There's really no need for any issues to come up on here
if you have an issue with how a comp is posted or you are not sure where a comp should be posted then you should PM a BG

it is very impolite to post comments in an OP's thread if you disagree with how a comp has been posted then you should PM a BG

    from the forums etiquette
Please be sensitive : This may be a web forum, but you’re still talking to other human beings. Repeatedly or harshly saying someone’s wrong, can lead to upset.

  • Thanks Amilucky?

A quick note to let you know I've finally managed to have a look through all the stuff I've been sent and finally updated the New Beginnings post.

I really hope that's addressed the issues people had and that this can be finally laid to rest so everyone can have the fun they're supposed to be having, rather than a coronary :)

My apologies if I've misunderstood what's being asked. From an "outsider's" point of view it's been rather difficult to make head or tail of.

    Have a good afternoon

    Take care

    Andrea :)

What I can say is please post them as individual threads for each day/week/month noting in the title which day etc it is - that way when you discuss them you all know you're discussing the same one, plus when you click thanks you only need to look at the first post to know you've entered it, rather than wade through the thread to find the new post for the new day's comp? (I think I'm understanding that correctly?)
if im understanding this correctly theres 100 odd threads between the daily and weekly stickies plus however many on the monthly one that need posted on main.

perhaps for the daily ones as and when someone posts them they could let me know via daily sticky that i can remove that site from the thread? im not going to be about much if at all over the w/e and they need removed asap after they are posted so people dont dupe but if they are at the end of the thread people will be able to check there that they are already on main :) failing that ill go in on tuesday and delete the whole of the daily prize draw section if necessary.

I have a facebook page that I only use for Competitions. No need to use your main facebook page.

Think that MSE Angela is suffering from non compus mentos syndrome I:E she is not a comper so does not understand the way in which we comp

my personal opinion is (and I might be wrong in my assumption) please correct me if I am wrong, If a daily or weekly or monthly comp has a foreseeable final end of comp date then it should be posted in one single thread on the main board and not every day or every week or every month in individual threads which makes it harder for the regular thread maintainers to maintain the daily, weekly and monthly threads

    Best of Luck :)

    Quotes from the article:

"Although an increase in ‘compers’ who do it for fun may not represent a massive threat to the marketing profession, those who do get hooked could end up requiring medical help to end their addiction"

"Habitual competition and prize entering can quickly take over an individual’s life because it offers significant rewards for a tantalisingly small investment of a packet top or a magazine purchase. Unless individuals keep in check the amount of time spent on this activity it could lead to a form of addiction similar to gambling,” he says.

I'll start an orderly queue, off we go to rehab :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Maybe i should mention it to my psychiatrist

I find it very interesting how much they know of 'our' activities  they're obviously watching us very closely or am I just paranoid? ;)

Three new comps on the Miss Win It site need you to log in using your Facebook account. As I'm a luddite and don't have one, can somebody with an account check them out and post them?

The comps are the three that say "Event added 10/03/2011" for tickets to see N-Dubz/Encore/Professor Green, Mona and on page 2 Devlin.

just to make it super clear here, i am NOT prepared to switch links every single day in the daily thread. some days just finding all the end date and site name info as well as if its a new draw every day or one that just gains extra entries to add with the link (since people like it that way rather than just the prize details) can take long enough.

would people like me to paste the list of current ongoing daily prize draw threads in here before i delete them next week so you can check what need everyday thereafter until end date or in the case of the never ending ones forever more? they will stay in the dailies thread until tuesday anyway so can be checked here until then :)

I think it will be hard work for Gilla and ppd to update that many threads every week too when everything is posted as a seperate comp every week/month
and as all regs are now to be posted on mains the regs board will consist of just the weekly and monthly stickies

It will take a little bit of time to go through all the threads currently on the regs board and give them a d/w/m end date then move them all over to mains so bear with it please :)

and hopefully people will check GO regularly and pick up on all expired comps that need reposting every d/w/m :)
