Thanks, moan over
I totally agree with this, the amount of times i've gone to enter a comp only to find out you have to subscribe to the blog is unreal, it would be so helpful if like you say "blog" was in the title.2012 wins:
Thank you to all competition posters0 -
I think for some it can be quite confusing. I know when i joined it was, but quickly got the hang of it...worst one is when ppl just say "thanks" and bump it from weeks ago!
So so rude 3rd poster up! No need at all....some folk just love to hide behind a screen don't they ( he that protest too much and all that)
I agree pkc it would be much easier with fb comps elsewhere....they seem to be taking over the forum xxx
I've been saying this for ages, Twitter and FB are easy for companies to run comps on, and in the last year alone have increased massively. Soon they will be the vast majority.
MSE is lagging far behind the times in this area and sticking to what's here stubbornly.
There needs to be a major reorganisation, if adding a section to a forum is major ...and additionally there needs to be somewhere to post threads like this where they can be discussed and acted upon "general" or similar...this IS a forum, meant for discussion. No such area exists to discuss anything new or confusing to newer members where threads are easy to see and respond to. They get lost in a hyper long threads.
Another good reason for social network comps to have their own section is that not eveyone wants to do them, I'm one that dislikes blog comps too...I'm not overkeen on comps heavy in data with no warning either...PDF mags and flash games waste data allowances when on a dongle which is nice to know in advance and avoid until on a real broadband connection.
If you look at the excellently organised daily comps thread...that splits the comps nicely by type, so it's possible.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

eh??
The problem with facebook comps is often you have to visit their site, then the clients site, then like a page, add an app.. with twitter its just a matter of following and rt'ing0 -
Hi all,
I had a quick look but couldn't find a thread thanking the people who post comps (i know some people have it as there signature).
So i just wanted to personally thanks for taking the time to post the competitions complete with answers and links. I've only been comping a few months but have already won some great stuff and it's all down to you guys.
So do me a favour and like this or comment so it goes to the top so everyone can see that you're doing a great job.:money::money:

Is anyone sick to their teeth of FB comps? I mean, I don't mind the ones that you just have to like and comment - but the apps that allow these faceless corporations to stare into my life -"Includes name, profile picture, gender, networks, user ID, list of friends and any other information I've shared with everyone."
Some even include the ability to write on 'my wall', look at all my pics, my events, etc. etc. Does anyone know why?
I know some have the option, but do not use it - ie. ASOS and Submarine - but I noticed before I uninstalled the corporations 'app' had looked at my pics, my events, my wall posts, my friends wall posts - and generally raped my privacy. I can't remember which company, but I was disgusted. So I generally avoid such things. And another thing, my installing the FB app on your smartphone people can look literally anything that is on your profile
p.s. I understand if I really wanted keep my privacy I'd keep of FB!2010:
3 gig tickets, including 'The Drums', indie Xmas party tickets! More gig tickets :j
2011:
January: Superdrug win, online viewing of film, 2x gig tickets for (Egyptian Hip Hop + The Vaccines!)0 -
I've not been comping long, but I am familiar with forums and have quickly got used to how this one works.
I think a separate area for FB/Twitter/Blog competitions makes perfect sense
The only other thing that I find difficult is when a link just says "click" - no clue to the company or anything, this could be a "click" to any website not a legitimate competition.
Thanks to everyone though that does post comps and answers0 -
there are a lot of things that are annoying for a lot of people
eg. newsletter sign up comps that are not meant to be entered repeatedly being posted over and overthe wrong end date being used when comps end at 23:59 the day before
or finding a multi draw comp the day off or day before the final draw
or finding a thread that should have been added to dailies/weeklies/monthlies on the last day of the last available draw, especially when lots of people who thanked on the day it was posted know how to add them
to name but a few0
