Hi,can i ask for some help please, i am figuring out how to use the forums and only just realised there was a discussion thread! I'm joining in if i can help with answer and stuff and have read comping guide but can't see how to bookmark a Comp, i used forum tools to mark the main guide but can't move it off or see how i bookmark something to return to, i know it will be so obvious when someone tells me, so that would be great if someone could.
hope this is the right place to because i now have the comping bug.

Thankyou to everdecreasingcirles for pointing out this discussion thread was here and purplecatlover for explaining bookmarks i also now know cp is control panel, can subscribe to forum - sooo much easier and that lol means laugh out loud not lots of love so hope in previous posts i have used that appropriately, thanks for pointing that out go to my younger and clearly more hip sister!

generally when people say bookmark a comp they mean add it to your favourites/bookmarks in your browser settings.

i have subscribed to the comp forum as a whole so its shows in my user cp, and i have that page bookmarked for when i come to mse rather than the main forum index. (its a setting under the forum tools option).

you can subscribe to individual threads in the same way, which means they will then show up in your user cp, along with any threads you reply to, when there are new replies to them. i think some people use that as a bookmark system too. its under thread tools at the top of each page in a threads first post, on the green bar, with search this thread and display modes.

apart from that there is no specific setting on mse for bookmarking things :)

Oh right, thanks purplecatlover, i thought there was a button for it, duh! doing all this on a phone so don't always see the full screen and now you explained it makes more sense, bookmarks the page not the comp on a pc - feel like my grandma who's 86 who's just got a tv, except in my case I've just got internet access when i upgraded my phone from a brick!
Thanks for your help. Will have a go with the tools.

I think for some it can be quite confusing. I know when i joined it was, but quickly got the hang of it...worst one is when ppl just say "thanks" and bump it from weeks ago!

So so rude 3rd poster up! No need at all....some folk just love to hide behind a screen don't they ( he that protest too much and all that)

I agree pkc it would be much easier with fb comps elsewhere....they seem to be taking over the forum xxx

Seems everytime I post I get some child making a pratt of themselves.. LOL (re; post #3).. Last one I called out and they bottled it LOL...

To get back on topic.. it wouldn't take much for admin to have a guideline for said comps..

Angers me! What you commented was completely valid....oooh pic have you been naughty and upset somebody ;)

I think it's a great idea...at least for everyone who doesn't need to sift through all of these...maybe a thread by the dailys would be good?

If u order the board by thread start time u don't see bumping, theres also buttons at top which do similar, i don't use those as i'm conditioned to doing it manually xxxxx

if a comp end on 09/03 and the new comp starts on 10/03 they should be listed as separate rather than a weekly.. just stops threads getting 100's of pages on them :)

There was a few options that would help users IMHO.. such as ending today button, which shows only threads that are with todays end date, and option was to have all entered comps not show (toggled).

Facebook comps are a pain in the :$, several of us spend ages looking for a comp entry form for a comp a user post, none of us found it!.
