im going to ask again :)

if the likes of this is not a weekly https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3090742
why do we have over 50 threads in the weekly thread which also should NOT be weeklies?

if the classic fm DAILY comp is NOT a daily despite being classified as such on the site why then are all of these dailies?

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind if you can't find it there, then maybe you should PM a BG they are responsible for maintaining the threads ;)

    Best of Luck :)

You are correct they don't make the rules they just implement them so if something is posted incorrectly according to the present guidelines, then they can deal with it ;)

but what exactly IS the present ruling for ongoing comps? those that dont already have an ongoing thread in regs nor a permanent end date?

There are far to many variables to make rules to cover every scenario. If you feel one is in the wrong place just PM a board guide and ask them to move it.

Not really worth worrying about the ones that don't fit a definite rule.

It's only a hobby and for fun :)

but who decides if they/the post is in the wrong place please,
eg: i see a post & think it's been posted in the wrong place, the bg i pm will just move it on my/whoevers say so, or do they check it out first ? is there a list of the rules 'cause i've been looking & can't find them :o can someone kindly show me where they are as sometimes get confused where to post certain comps now :)

The closest there is is from MSEAndreas post HERE which says

    Poll Results

You've had the opportunity to vote and the majority verdict is:
    • All regular comps with end date stay on main board but posters then post link on the regulars board Poll result

    • A regular competition is one that Can be entered on a daily/weekly/ monthly basis with fixed answers for the duration or different answers which can be updated as & when Poll result
    ALSO

Ongoing threads in Regular Comps Board that may be missed by Main Board Compers

As suggested by Amilucky and other posters to help with this

It's ok to post a thread on the main board with a weekly/monthly end date linking to the actual comp thread on the regulars board. The thread shouldn't include a link to the actual competition site though to avoid duplicate entries and the risk of disqualifying yourself.

    I interpret all this as:

    1) regular daily/weekly/monthly comps with an end date go on main.
    2) Ongoing regular comps (ones with no end date) go on the regular board (I know it doesn't say that but they are no included in the statement saying ones with end dates go on main.....and I'm sure most people agree things can't go on main with no end date)
    3) If there's a post in regulars that you would like to highlight on main then post it on main as a link to the thread on regulars rather than a new (duping) direct link to the competition.

But I don't think it makes things overly clear and would like the gaps filled in. OK not everything will fit any set of rules but it could be more encompassing than it is so we all know where the majority of comps belong and the bickering that's dragging on and on can finally stop :)

And as a personal preference, if we can't agree on anything else could we come to some mutual agreement on dailies. I would really miss a lot less comps if some dailies weren't posted as a new thread each day because the only way to catch all them is to have time to comp by newly posted. I bet there's a lot of people that can't do that for whatever reason (short time due to work, children, health, etc.). This all started partly because people were worried about others missing comps posted in "the wrong place", but the way some of these are being posted at the moment I feel there are still people missing out needlessly :o

Just a reply to purplecatlover commenting on why comps are sometimes moved a little bit earlier in the day. They are moved when I have time. Sometimes they might be moved early other days they might not. I have only just moved 05/03 and 06/03 today with 07/03 as well. If older ones are on here just ignore them!! I work 2 jobs and do this job as well. I love the comps board but feel recently that people want to nit pick every little thing that happens like the ongoing saga on the regs board.

The board still works fine you can still enter hundreds of comps. I just dont get the mentality that people have to enter every single last thing like the world will end if you dont.

Also if people have an issue please can they pm a BG or the abuse team. Its not nice keep racking it up on this thread.
