McSaver - NS&L's ISA pays 6.05% (not taxable), which is better than IceSave's 5.95% (taxable).
Some say that the best things in life are free...do you believe it?

Icesave after tax is 4.64% based on tax at 22%, the NS&I Direct ISA is a really good option for £3K of your money, and, also it is guaranteed to stay 0.55% above base rate until at least 5 April 2008.

Tax is 20% on interest, not 22% which is employment income tax. (until April 2008 when that changes to 20%)

Fantastic - I am almost there, but not quite. Various things are stopping me saving as much as I would like, my car for one and spending on the house and garden for another, it is ok though, I am balancing saving with quality of life
