  • Hi McSaver,

Why don't you open an ISA now? you would have nearly a year gaining interest and then could open a new one in April 2008 and put more in at better rates then?

You will lose out on interest in the meantime if you don't, depending on where the savings are now of course!

Well done for saving now while you are living at home. It is the best time to do it! I wish I had saved more when I lived at home! :D

McSaver, I'm 21 so it sounds like we're in a similar situation. It's going to be a few years before I move out, so I'm saving for a deposit.

    Hi

This month I have done reasonably well and managed to save £475 - but on the flip side I may have to raid it slightly as I have an MOT fail to correct before the month end - doh! there is always something

Yikes - was that the Smart? If so, what did it fail on?

    Hi

It is tyres to the front, they are not illegal as yet but the MOT centre highly recommended I changed them which I totally agreed with as they are right on the limit. Also, a coil spring which I got done for free as it was a recall item by Smart on the particular model I have... I never got the recall notice because I bought it second hand, so, I got a new Mercedes A Class for the day and my Smart fully valetted inside and out for free as the Smart centre also sell Mercedes - great result

It will be a touch over £100 for 2 new front tyres, so not too bad really.
