I'd like to join too - I have a goal of saving £125,000 in five years - so 25k per year.

Need to spend some time scrawling these boards for advice as not sure where to start putting the money. I have around 20k to start off with.

I would like to join in. I am 21 and in my 2nd year of university.

    Currently have £12,000 in savings.

These are my goals that I have been working from:

    YEAR 0 - 20th August 2012 - £8000.00....................... ACHIEVED :D
    YEAR 1 - 20th August 2013 - £14,000.00.................... ON TRACK :)
    YEAR 2 - 20th August 2014 - £21,000.00....................
    YEAR 3 - 20th August 2015 - £31,500.00....................
    YEAR 4 - 20th August 2016 - £47,250.00....................
    YEAR 5 - 20th August 2017 - £70,875.00....................

As soon as I graduate I am buying a house with my girlfriend and will be renovating it as I have experience in doing this and good contacts. I currently get paid £12,000.00 a year working on a sponsored degree but in August 2014 hoping I will be earning £22,000-£26,000 and make lots of money on the house we develop :)

Popped back in and have just seen my ambitious little plan.

Happy to say I have met my goal early and I now have £21,000 saved :D

No plans to buy a house just yet though as I am tied up on a large project for the next 18 months.

    (copied from the other thread)

I got sidetracked last month, and forgot to update! Oops!!!

    March 2014 update:

I saved £528, taking my yearly total to £1,429 and my grand total to £75,556.

    April 2014 update:

I saved £477, taking my yearly total to £1,906 and my grand total to £76,033.

I'm saving less than I thought I would so far this year :o mainly because I'm now living on my own and paying the bills by myself. But I'll get there. :D

Good luck and keep up the good work, everyone!

I've just totted up May's totals.

    [STRIKE]
I saved £1,169 (which was actually my ISA interest, so if it hadn't been for that I'd have done badly!).
    [/STRIKE]
I saved £2,037 (£1,163 of which was my ISA interest!).

That brings my 2014 total up to £3,943...

...and my overall total up to £78,070.

Well done everyone, let's keep going!

*Edited at end of June as I'd got my totals wrong for May! :o
