Aiming for £14k in 2014 between me and my partner I think! It's a bit of a stretch target but hopefully we can do it!! (Not sure how though so any tips will be much appreciated!)0

I'm aiming to save £10k in 2014, in a combination of Cash and Stock and Shares ISA. I'm feeling pretty inspired by seeing how much people saved in 2013, which hopefully will help.0

I've been avidly following this thread for months now and I have joined this forum precisely because of this thread as it has utterly inspired and motivated me to save, save and save! Tara you are my inspiration... any hints, tips will be gladly received, tvm!
I'm saving for a deposit for a house, although I would much prefer to buy outright (i wish). My ccurrent position: I was £200 overdrawn but i have just cleared most of the balance and i am now £2 overdrawn.
How do you people stay motivated?0 -
Just found this thread and so glad of the motivation! I'm about to start saving to pay for my MA. I really want to avoid taking out a career and development loan as I currently have no debt beside my student loan (and £300 on a 0% credit card which I'll pay off next pay day) so I'd like to stay debt free if at all possible! I need £6000 by September 2015. I'd love to start studying in September 2014 as the sooner I complete it the sooner I can enter my chosen career path and get a better salary. But I'd for sure have to borrow to do that. Swings and roundabouts!0

It's really cool to be part of a group of people who under consume and save for a better future.
My savings goal for this year is 20k.
My current savings are around 37k with 16k in an ISA (I maxed that out for the past three years).
20k might be ambitious - it all depends on how well the business does, but we'll see how it goes. Good luck to everyone!0 -
So its been a long time since I last posted, I originally was saving for a house deposit and then after that money to pay off the mortgage. Well its 7 years since my first post here and I paid off £68,000 of my mortgage with all the savings that I had built up. I live in a shared ownership house now so the next idea is to staircase the rest of the property.
After all that work, my outgoings are around £400 a month, I can really get back to saving again. All my accounts are empty right now but I should be able to save around £2,000 a month.
My aim is to buy another property that I can rent out.
And so it begins again....Save save save!!0 -
Hoping to get a boost on the old savings account. Besides the student loan debt I have arrived with just £500 (0% interest) on a credit card. Hoping to have 14K in the bank by the end of the year..... Not sure how I'm going to do that but here goes....
