How much can you save?

Well done dippykitty!
I like your idea of having £5,000 increments in your savings goals - I might try that.I tend to think in £10,000 milestones, and £90,000 seems so far away.
Thank youThis is the most I've ever had put away!
That's exactly why I do it! I'm self-employed so my income can fluctuate and I never really know exactly how much I can put away each month so breaking it down into £5,000 targets seems a lot more do-able than saying that my next target will be £30,000 - seems so far away right now! But £25,000 seems more realistic in the short term.ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
I've set myself the target of moving out in 1 year time. No longer than that, God willing. That is the deadline.
I have been thinking about it for a long time but I have been avoiding the inevitable. I didnt realise that in spending my money on frivolous pursuits, I have been eating my future - I have been eating away at what could have been. In saving I shall find my redemption.
I hereby commit that I will save £900 per month for the next 12 months. That should be a total of £10,800, which is a tidy sum to get me started in life..
Wish me luck folks. May the force be with you all :T0 -
I got paid today at work, I manage to put a little bit extra aside this month as i earned a bit more due to extra work they gave me, i usually put £200 a month aside but manage to put £400. I currently have,
£16,500 in a stock and shares ISA
£10,200 in an instant access savings account
I aim to hit 27,000 by the end of the year.0 -
Oooh i would like to join this thread i currently have just over £39 000 saved, my partner has a normal full time average wage job and i gave up my part time job last year to concentrate on matched betting full time, ive saved roughly 7k since then , i am aiming to save around £600+ a month and would like 50k by the end of 2015 , i have a endownment saving plan maturing in 2016 and so hopefully will have 60k saved by then to use as a big deposit on a house ( currently renting which suits us fine at the moment)
Happy saving everyone xxx0 -

U actually make money off of it? When I tried to do it it didn't work and the bookies changed it so u can bet on losing sides only winning0

You must have done something wrong. Matched betting, when done correctly, cannot lose you any money. Bookies aren't as generous as they used to be but there is still quite a bit of money to be made. Head over to the matched betting board for more.0 -
I would like to join this thread too.
I'm up to £23000 saved and my next goal is £30,000.
I would hope I would be there by end of the year but that might be stretching it abit.0 -
it doesn't actually work cos you can't lay a single team, only back them so what good is that?0
