I'm doing really badly this month, paying off my student loan ruined my finances last month and I am still catching up. Need to steady the ship and get saving during april.
But guess what!! no £550 loan payment this month and will be getting 18k from my house sale as wellApril is going to be a good month I think

Hi
Well, March has been a month where savings were spent on a new fence and also we tiled the bathroom, so nothing really saved... but saying that the home improvements are there to be enjoyed.
I am expecting a bumper month in April though, the other day I submitted a request for overtime from November, December 2006 and January 07 totalling 180 hours, 150 hours of which at 130% and 30 hours at 160% rate... cha-ching! Then May will be good as I expect to move up a band in pay and a big annual bonus (fingers crossed). See what happens, knowing my luck the cooker will explode and the washing machine will fall to pieces and eat any gain that I make!0 -
Thanks - for some reason I thought the Budget was meant to be today!
Being a singleton, childfree, under-30-year-old who isn't trying to quit smoking and isn't yet on the property ladder, this Budget hasn't helped me much (as usual). The ISA thing will be good when it kicks in - it's a long-overdue increase. At least it never went down to £1k/year as originally planned I spose.
And I still have potential interest rate rises to look forward to...

Mr Tall, I bet you're looking forward to the overtime coming in! My old job didn't pay overtime at all. I worked a whole weekend once and got nada for it, not even time off in lieu. Still, I've moved departments now and there's the distinct possibility for overtime in the future woohoo!!
I've got my holiday bonus due in June, it's only £200 after tax etc but I'm putting all the extra money coming in (ebay, amazon, halifax £100 joining gift etc) with it and going to buy a toy, not sure what yet but it'll be good!
...Unless I get really fed up with my housemates in which case it goes straight into the ISA towards my apartmentI am not really an Eskimo. I can hear what you're thinking... "Inuit!"0 -

I've not saved much this month £8.74! But I get paid weekly so intend to start putting away a few more £££ this coming month, my hours vary so I'l probbaly try to save 30% of my weekly pay this month.
Sometimes feel I'll never get saving properly, been a badly month though, incorrectly paid in Feb from my last job (less £350) then made redundant, didn't get paid at all, even though it was owed to me from my last job and hubby's car had a £381 reapir bill too.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450 -

Hi,
I'm feeling quite proud of myself. I have finally met my target of £22,000.
I have left myself with not much money until payday tho!! LOL
I just had to round my savings up. I'm sure I can live on £80 until the 22nd!!
I now have to save money for electrics, plumbing a new shower and tiles etc.
Oh.....and a kitchen,appliances and a wedding.....hmm was feeling quite good!! :rotfl: :rotfl:[0 -
