Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't done it yet to join cashback sites and a little earned on each site goes a long way as all you have to do is click your mouse to get the money. Takes disclipline but I have an A4 Daily Click routine if anyone wants it to put on the wall/on your desk. You can pick and choose which sites to join, I am with 4 which I find very good. An MSER helped me get onto it so I am happy to help anyone else out too with questions etc.

I am at 18% on the Olympic Challenge so far!

PS: Also check out my Debt Buster thread in my sig if you want a spreadsheet to help you knock down the debt...

You can earn Pigsback points without spending anything by signing up for newsletters eg their Health and Beauty zone newsletter, Visit London etc. These normally give you 50 points.

There are a number of weekly quizes where you can earn points too eg Toucan (20 points), Motor zone (10 points), Travel zone (10 points).

Each week there will be click throughs - look for the purple border around offers and just click on it for 10 points.

Within a couple of weeks doing the above you should have enough points for a £5 voucher and a £10 one within a month.

If you get the £10 boots one then you will get Advantage card points when you use it.

JamTart - download my new Frills Spreadsheet in my sig - has a lovely Savings Tower area that might help;) on it's own or get you started? Then you can see all your savings all in one place... another section also has a debt tower though :p

Do love my spreadsheets can you tell :D

As I am now self-employed that's why I did the savings tower as I keep all my tax savings, holiday savings, xmas, credit card stoozing all in once 'tower' then...

PS: Blatantly cheeky - if anyone isn't on Pigsback please, please let me refer you - just PM me your e-mail address and I will do it instantly and I can walk you though the process to get you started x :T :T :T

Hi jamtart, I was using Quidco alot in my last job for booking travel, hotels, ordering stationery etc. Now the amoutn I get has reduced to a trickle - £20ish currently, but next month £12ish prob and then even less as I rarely use it now... thankfully from October onwards last year I put most of the cashback away into savings, wish I had done so from July though!

  • Hello Savers!! :D

    Quick question,

Does overpayment on Debt counts as a 'Saving?' (as i would have saved it had i not overpaid) , however, does the reduction in Interest Charge(over the whole term of the debt), on the Debt Product also count toward a saving?

If so, could i include it within my % target? - For fairness, i assume i will have to divide the saving by the term length remaining, for a monthly save figure

ps. maybe we should start a new thread indicating how much Interest on Debt Products we have collectively saved? (A Certificate for the Winner? :j )

A twist on the idea, this sounds good... might get complicated, but if you can work out how much interest you are saving by overpaying then tell us all. Alot of people in this thread will have mortgages and will as a result, find benefits by overpaying. It might be a good idea to work out roughly the annual amount that is saved by making overpayments to keep things simple and adding this to the savings pot tally.

I will carry on saving and not overpaying as I have a super cheap mortgage and I can save at above the mortgage rate with all these good deals on ISAs and savings accounts.

    Basically no, it's not saving.

Saving is something you do once you are out of debt.

Debt is money you don't own so it can never be saving. Its an important distinction to make.
