I'm going to aim to get my savings account to £4000 :) its currently at £2800. As I dont have a full time job, it might be a bit hard, but I'm going to try!!

i have collected £96 in loose change. i was like "hmm where shall i put that"...i am going to put it my savings of course! wont make silver this month, i worked out i needed to save £750 to make silver....

EDIT: omg just checked my isa and its made £360 which I knew nothing about! YAY! Do you think I can count this is as part of my savings for this month??

£360 +£96 = £454 plus i've mad £10 on ebay and hopefully some more this week.. thats £545...so only £205 to find to make silver! Think I get paid this week too, so MIGHT just be in the SILVER club by the end of the month!!! YAY!!

can i just ask, is getting paid £30ish per month on £6000 rubbish for an isa or good? i cant work out what my interest rate is

Also - how are you getting on with the Olympic Savings? will you being "winning" another medal this month?

Sorry for so many Q's by the way!

    How are yougetting on save-a-lot?

Are you all saving FOR something or just "for your savings account"?? The savings I've made are for my ISA, my house,my holiday and Christmas but obviously the latter will be spent....is this acceptable for the olympic challenge or does it have to be purely for a savings account?

  • JamTart - if you call your ISA provider they can tell you the rate you are on? The interest you are earning sounds about right but you need to make a note of the interest you are earning so that in March you can go shopping for a better one for the coming 2007/20008 year which starts 1st April 2007. You will then get a fresh £3,000 limit to save on top of what you already have.

    Hi,
I used to save about £500 a month but am trying for £800 as I'm getting desperate now! It is beginning to get me down now though

Oh well I'm sure it will all be worth it :D

Why on earth would that get you down?

Every time I get a little depressed about not spending money, I just log into my ISA and take 5 seconds to look at all those zero's after my money pot :) It does wonders for my mood!

  • I think we should save but not to the point of not living one's life. I am saving but also spending to go out for meals, drinks, meeting friends, movies, etc. What's the point of saving and then just sitting at home counting pennies? There must be a balance. On that note, this month I have saved £1250 because I received a work bonus. :D

How are you getting on save-a-lot?

Hi, I am on bronze with exactly 10% saved of annual disposable. I am expecting a large amount of overtime to go through and also company bonus in the next 2 months, so I think my savings will be given a boost soon.
  • Hi everyone,

Not been round much this month, it's really busy at work at the moment. At present, I'm on target for my savings this year. I've gone past Bronze with my savings for this month with 18% in total for the year.

    How are you all doing?
