Hello everyone! It's been so long since I came on here that i can't even find my last post!

I haven't put anything into my savings over the past few months either as I went to download and to see bon jovi at the O2. Both were awesome so I don't regret it but now I'm frantically trying to pay off my student overdraft before it starts charging 19.9% interest on the 26th. I'm almost there but it's a bit depressing knowing that money could have gone towards my deposit :(

Luckily I haven't got much planned over the next few months, I hope to spend the summer holidays relaxing in the british sunshine for free - come on sun! Also I will soon be moving in with my boyfriend's parents which is much closer to work and the horses so I should roughly cut petrol spending by 50%

Well done to everyone else, you're all doing so well! I can't wait to see my ISA balance grow again, it's been stuck for too long!

Well the first of my savings accounts transfers has happened - my regular saver has been closed and I made a measly £75 in interest over the year. Looking for ward to last year's ISA being transferred into this year's as I'm already making £6 a month in interest on it and so it will double. Looks like once all the transfers have happened I will have £16000 in accessible cash which is good, plus whatever gets saved this month (although I did haver a couple of spending sprees which will affect this month's savings - back onto the straight and narrow now). Ooops just remembered I need to cancel my regular saver SO, might redirect it to my other savings account.

I saw 3 of the O2 shows which is half the reason I didn't save anything this month - they were amazing though :T Saving for next summer's tour now!

Savings related - have opened a Halifax Reward Account to get the £5 a month and looking into Santander current accounts - 5% interest, £100 for switching and £35 through Quidco as well.

I'll hopefully save £2,000+ next month but that's because I'm getting a few months' back pay from my payrise! It's not the norm! :rotfl: Although I am hoping to save an average of £1,000 a month in the other months so that will be £13,000 in 2010. My salary's pretty good, can't complain tbh (well, I wouldn't say no if they doubled it overnight LOL). Some of the savers here are still students, now THAT's impressive! :T

The important thing (imho) is for each individual to save what they can (while still living an enjoyable life and not denying onself the important stuff) and work towards their own goals. :A

Goodness me..... I've been trying to transfer money out of my Vantage account for about 3 days now! I've phoned up and entered the authorisation code, I've waited for authorisation, I've been locked out of internet banking, I've phoned up again, I've answered security questions, I've been told to complete authorisation online, I've logged in, authorised it, it was then not authorised by the bank, more phone calls, more security questions..... RIDICULOUS! The phone bill has cost me more than I will get in interest this month now!

Exactly, everyone has their own individual situation. It's nice here that, just as those in debt are not judged for the amount of debt they're in, there's no bad feelings for those who save lots either. Money is only relative to your own situation.

Although I do like to be mildly competitive with Tara because she always just beats me! :p

Any idea whatthe average time is for ISA transfers? I know it can take up to 30 days but i can't help checking my account morning and evening just in case. I didn't realise saving would become an obsession!

Vixster, I did an internal one recently and it took about a week. No idea for for external ones I'm afraid, call the bank for a best guess maybe? They should know.

My holiday plans have fallen through. Sniff. Good thing is that there's more cash for a house though, whoop!
