  • If you've got insurance and savings policies then go to somewhere like gofifty50.com.

They share commissions with you for every year that your policy runs. The benefit there is that you get a nice little lump sum at the end of each year which i've found pretty useful not only in saving up for things but in just making my money go further.

What 3 shows were they albacookie? I love going to gigs and festivals.

Bon Jovi did a 12 night residency at the O2 in June - I went on the 11th, 13th and 25th! Also saw Green Day, P!nk and Scissor Sisters this month - hence no saving:cool:.

I love gigs and festivals too - though as I've got older I'm kind of over festival camping - now its a camper van or B+B for me.

It's 'extra' money month this week for me!

£200 from my college for good attendance and behaviour through the course
£45 for watering some neighbours plants for a week
£20 for delivering leaflets in a few streets
£*** delivering some other leaflets for a new shop opening near me soon (not sure how much I will be paid yet)

I wish every month was like this! :D

wow well done everyone! driving soon well done for putting it all into savings, I probably would have been tempted to just blow it all on something stupid! I haven't done a money assessment yet, but I will asap after my trip at the weekend! Oh and my savings scheme of dooyoo for extra cash seems to have failed as its all changed and I haven't been on for weeks! :(
I'm waiting for about £250 as a tax refund though which can go straight to savings, just need the tax people to hurry up!

Gotta treat yourself from time to time! :p

I haven't managed to save this month, but on the massive plus side - I paid off so much of my credit card that this time next month I'll be debt free! :rotfl:

Then it's time for my savings to grow, baby, grow!

you guys must be on mega high salaries to be saving upto 2000£ a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I earn roughly £650 a month...if I save all of it I will still have only £650!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry! There's a good mixture of salaries on the thread so while some people have more to save, others (like me) are only really saving quite minimal amounts. Tara summed it up very well though!
ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)

I saw 3 of the O2 shows which is half the reason I didn't save anything this month - they were amazing though :T Saving for next summer's tour now!

Savings related - have opened a Halifax Reward Account to get the £5 a month and looking into Santander current accounts - 5% interest, £100 for switching and £35 through Quidco as well.

I so would have gone to every night if I could have afforded it, they were amazing! Been waiting for a long time to see them as a tyre blow out ended our last trip! Unfortunately though it took 7 and a half hours to get to greenwich, loads more petrol than I expected and I bought 2 t-shirts :o so it was an expensive trip!

I haven't camped at a festival for 3 years and thought I was well past it but I actually had a better time at Download this year than the others I've been to. Not sure why, I guess I was better prepared and more relaxed and camping and loos just didn't seem that bad. ACDC, rage and aerosmith were well worth it :D

Anyway back on topic! I just reduced my HSBC overdraft limit to £200 :j That's a big step as it was £1750 before. Now just got £158 to pay off before the 26th but I've gone way over my budget this month so far as I unexpectedly had ebay selling fees , dog food and a much needed hair cut to pay for this week so spending is now frozen for the rest of the month :(

Holy moly, didn't realise it was 3 gigs by the same band lol. You are keen! :rotfl:

I love festival camping, esp when I have an airbed (so no lumps and bumps and stiffness next morning) and it's not too noisy. Getting no sleep is not good. We have been known to camp in the family/quiet campsite a few times just to get some sleep! Gosh I am getting old... :D
