How much can you save?

Hehe, we should rename this the 'how much can you save and exercise?' thread! I love exercising but do lack motivation sometimes, when i'm busy I feel like I should be doing work and feel guilty if I exercise instead. I love horse riding (try to go once a week), cycling (haven't been since last summer
) and walking (puppy can't walk to far yet and wants to stop at every blade of grass to sniff - very frustrating!). I also strangely enjoy the gym but can't afford a membership at the mo. Basically I do very little at the moment
.
Now for the savings...I finally got the £100 incentive for switching to A&L and 4p interest for the month :rotfl:! So despite the hassle of my phone bill and car finance DDs not getting paid because they were changed without enough notice, I think it was finally worth it. Unfortunately I've gone over my budget 2 out of 4 weeks so far this month and I'm down overall so I really need to spend nothing except petrol this week to make up for it. As for extra work I haven't had a lot due to the easter hols so it's not going to be a big month for savings, just enough for my download ticket.
Hope everyone else does way better than me this month:p"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012Married 2015

I've gone over budget this month after spending a bit more on toiletries than I anticipated but they should last for a while now so hopefully it evens out for the next couple of months.
I've only been able to add just over £100 to the semi-regular expenses fund for this month but hoping to add a bit more to it when I get paid next (probably in the second week of May). I want to build it up to £1k so I'm not dipping into the ISA if anything comes up but at this rate, that's going to take forever!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
Ha I put £100 extra into savings thinking I would be underbudget by loads this month. Now I have run out of money!
eek.
Shouldn't actually need any more money though for the rest of the month. Only a week left!
Went to London yesterday for work. Had to get up at 6am. That finished at 5.30. Then went to Apollo with my friend to see Rhod Gilbert. It was hilarious!!!!! So worth it.
But it meant I didn't get home til 2am! Longest day ever.0 -
I've cashed in £15 of loose change and put it straight into new Barclays ISA. Went to Halifax to open the Reward current account but there was so many annoyed people waiting around and I didn't want to wait 2 hours so I think I will do it online. Although I still have to take ID in to the branch apparently. I'm sure the £5 a month will be worth it!
have a good weekend everyone!0 -

Lol well id rather spend a tenner on some drink for us than £50 each for a night out in town. Who knows though if she wants to go out she will probs appear dressed for it with money in her purse to say shes paying. Iv got £1,175.97 in it. It says iv made deposits of £1,050.01 this year and i have £4,049.99. So if i fill it up with that extra 4 grand il have £5,225.96. Not getting to put in the £5,300 i thought i could but ohwell dont know whats happened. Hoping to have all that in it but the end of the year so - £506.25 a month needed to put in to achieve this.
While also hoping to go away for a week(somewhere dirt cheap and hot) in the middle of July. Also canceling car insurance in June-£170 a month! But that will come down to about £900 lump sum(years no claims makes that much difference to a young male driver!)
I always have my gf to help tide me over if i put a bit much into my ISA so i dont need to withdraw it. My holiday pay the start of July will more than cover my holiday and i go back after my 3 weeks off to a £2 an hour rise, alot if i keep doing 110 hour fortnights, works out at more than £400 a monthSo that will go along way in helping my savings!
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

added £30 to the paying mum back fund (Taking me to £2835 of the £3600, £765 to go!!)
Also moved £200 of my 0% overdraft to my 'saving for the future' fund to at least earn me a little bit of interest! - What kind of rates are people getting at the minute if I can ask? I think my money's in ok places but I'm not sure.
Also, I checked in the bank and my 09-10 ISA is at 3.01% at the minute (but could change at any time) and I am looking to open a new one for this year - but I dont know where, or if I should do a trasfer etc? I've read and re-read the ISA guide but I would like some specialist savers help please!!0 -

Do you have the Natwest E-Isa? If so I am in the same boat as you - just waiting for the inevitable rate drop0
