  • I can lay in bed... but I can't sleep. And as soon as it's light I get fed up lying in bed so I get up. I have shopping to do, lots of beautiful shoes, and so few daylight hours.

I don't mind walking. I walk in my lunch hours, when I can get out of the office, 2 or 3 times a week. But I can't really do that any other time. Wouldn't walk in the evening - too many weirdos out then. Have enough trouble with the 5 minute walk back to my car each day!

I don't feel unfit. I can walk the 3 flights up to my office easily - and do so all day, up and down the bloody stairs. I guess I need to run or something, but then I'd probably have an asthma attack :P Or I'm just making excuses for myself.

Exercise - I wouldn't know how to. What does everyone else do? I went to the gym a few times a couple of years ago, but it bored me witless.

I walk to and from work (30 minutes each way), walk at lunchtimes, cycle and run (have been out of action with an ankle injury for a bit so couldn't run but am getting back into it now). I like to do stuff! Unfortunately I also eat too much so need to lose weight, if I didn't exercise I'd be 15 stone lol! I'm not even as fit as I used to be, I ran a marathon a few years ago! I have been a gym member in the past (and went 5 times a week) but tbh I hate being indoors, I'd rather be doing outdoor activies.

Eh??? Where do you live? Are there really weirdos around? What about the nice bright evenings from April-October? You do well to walk up the stairs at work, but try to do more e.g park further away from work and walk - or maybe cycle to work if it's within cycling distance. There's also Wii Fit and exercise vids for exercising at home. HTH!!

I'm with Tara on this one...more exercise is needed (and is good!) - being able to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs without being out of breath isn't particularly amazing, but it's certainly better than those who walk from car to McD's and back. :D

Why not try joining a local sports club - rowing, badminton, lacrosse, triathlon, climbing, mountain biking there are lots of options around other than just joining the gym.

At uni it's particularly easy Lokolo - with everything available, I'd love to have that again.

In terms of sleep - see if you can work out what your sleep pattern is as often it's not how long you've slept for but when you've woken up in your sleep pattern that affects how tired you feel. E.g. for some people it's 2.5hours (ie they sleep best for 5 or 7.5hours, anything inbetween isn't as good) or for some it's 3 (6 or 9 hours) or something in between.

I've always found that the more exercise I do (up to the point of 12hours per day!) the better I sleep and the less sleep I need!

1.5hours exercise 3 times a week would make a massive difference I'm sure to weight and amount of sleep required!!

Oh yes and savings...just trying to remain constant at the moment as it's that MOT, tax etc time of year for the car.

Yep! Agreed. However, I am not at uni at the moment. I am on placement :p so 'working' 9-5 (seriously, I love this job at the moment, I'll be awesomely happy if I get it at graduation!).

We play football out at the grounds every now and again but it means bringing in change of clothes, showering etc which I cannot be bothered with at work. I have done it before. Think I might arrange a footy match in a couple of weeks as long as the weather stays like this.

Feeling motivated to get back myself back into the gym tonight!!!!

bit of an update....my £2,500 in safe in A&L now, will be time to transfer in and out £500 at the start of the month though. my A&L regular saver starts on 2nd May for £50 per month and ive got around £300 in my Santander account and continuing to pay £50 a week in? My HSBC saver will have another £250 by next week aswell. I had hoped to have more in my various savings but ive paid my car insurance for the year in full and we are having our garden done which has cost me and Mrs MM £1000! but it will look quality when it is done!

Think i might see about getting a regular saver set up for say 10% of net salary every month for when my pay goes up, get at least an extra £350 a month and 10% net would be about £140.

So then by next summer there should be £2k + in there :) Right now iv got £700 in a savings bond and just over £300 in my ISA(£125 from last tax year so should hopefully have £5425 in it by next tax year!

Got over £1k in my current account and only expenses to come between now and the middle of May are fuel for my car and road tax at the end of this month. So about £140 say(at very most) while taking in £600 on the 30th and the same again on the 14th. Looking at having £1k in my Isa by the end of next month:j

  • Ah! Been spending so much at the moment :(

Brought a Young person's rail card £26.00 ..... and Going to visit a Uni on saturday and the train fare is costing just over £50.00 (with the YP Discount!)

Not to mention the money I give the railways every day to go to college (roughly £6.00 a day, 3 days a week, but I get no discount on the YP card as I travel before 9, grr!)

They are taking all my money :( haha.

Trains seem so expensive, much better driving yourself. Well if you can.

Savings have changed since last post 5 mins ago lol

Had 1k in my current account and was going to "hold" this until payday a week on Friday but i have absolute no reason to do so! So iv cleared my credit card, £270 or so and put the rest into my ISA leaving £50 so i dont need to put my fuel on my credit card:T

So now i have £700 in a savings bond and £1000.72 in my ISA

£1,700.72 in savings :j With my next pay i could easy hit £2k for the end of April :T
